UFO, Spiritual Practice And Loving Kindness
-Afterthoughts On A UFO Forum

On August 8, 1998, some fellow initiates attended a local seminar on UFOs
convened by Steve Gamble, chairman of the Northampton UFO Research Club in
southern England. Most participants at this forum had witnessed unidentified
flying objects at some time in their lives.
The forum was highlighted by heated debate, mainly between a UFO researcher,
Gary, and a lover of astronomy. Gary asserted that UFOs were machines more
technologically advanced than those produced by Earthlings; he also believed in
the existence of a higher kind of spiritual being who visited the Earth from
time to time. However, the sky-watcher held a different view, insisting on the
need for scientific evidence. Though conceding to having sighted UFOs, he voiced
his suspicion that the visions were fake and remained skeptical about others'
reports of UFO sightings. Nevertheless, most attendees agreed that witnesses'
reports should be accorded acceptance, understood, and require more attention
and research from scientists.
At the forum, a number of participants recounted their experiences with aliens,
including their transcendence of time and space, sighting of unknown illuminated
objects, encounters with angels and aliens, visits to other planets, and visions
of light in their dreams.
These experiences were somewhat similar to fellow initiates' some of the initial
spiritual experiences. For instance, time and space dimensions dissolved for UFO
witnesses the way they do for spiritual practitioners deep in samadhi during
meditation. Visions of light during sleep are a common phenomenon for
practitioners in the course of spiritual enlightenment. Likewise, encounters
with angels and aliens are not something new to some Quan Yin practitioners.
Participants who had reportedly sighted UFOs affirmed the positive influence of
aliens' visits to this planet, and even went so far as to acknowledge the
benefits of UFO experiences to spiritual growth.
During the lunch recess, fellow initiates struck up a conversation with Gary and
other witnesses of UFO sightings and learned that Gary was a mechanical engineer
who had had mysterious spiritual experiences ever since he was young. Another
man reportedly saw a sparkling object hurling toward him while in his garden
before falling to the ground in shock. He thought that he had been hurt but
found, instead, that he had sustained no injuries whatsoever. The incident left
him feeling as though he had been baptized and his heart was filled with love.
This experience was so incredible and unexplainable that no one but his wife
believed him.
Fellow initiates at the UFO forum also met a woman from northern England who
shared with them two street-side photos of an intensely bright spherical object
that had not been visible to the naked eye when the pictures were shot. One of
the snapshots, taken by the woman, captured the object as it was falling to the
ground and on a smaller scale. The other one, taken by her daughter, showed a
long band of many huge bulb-like sparkling objects as well as a few discernible
words.
Meanwhile, fellow practitioners shared their spiritual experiences in a friendly
and enlightening conversation with other forum participants, referring to the
teachings of enlightened Masters about the existence of myriad worlds in the
universe. These worlds, they said, differ in the frequency of their vibrations,
which define them as material spheres or realms with more refined energy. The
initiates also discussed the relationship between body and soul.
One of the participants raised the issue of a possible shift in the North and
South Poles that could lead to potential disasters in some areas. He was
pessimistic and troubled by this first-hand information that he had received
from his alien friends, which also aroused confusion and fear among other
participants at the forum.
At this point, the initiates began to openly shared their view that spiritual
enlightenment could resolve the issue of a possible polar change on the Earth.
Most of the time, intuition warns people of imminent dangers and many people are
thus able to escape before disaster strikes, the initiates said.
Therefore, communication with the supreme wisdom within could bring people
better information. The initiates also noted that disasters were a release of
negative energies, and the practice of the Quan Yin Method could nurture
positive energies that would both have a stabilizing effect on this world and
minimize disasters as well.
Another topic that Gary and Elliot touched on was the importance of
vegetarianism. The initiates were amazed to discover that most of the
participants were vegetarians, and proceeded to elaborate on Master's teachings
concerning vegetarianism, such as how killing and meat-eating create negative
energy as well as poverty and war in the world. If everyone could observe a
vegetarian diet, the whole planet would benefit economically and spiritually,
and could thus be saved.
When attention was diverted to Master's teachings, an affirmative and harmonious
aura enveloped the participants. The once negative, apprehensive and helpless
atmosphere was replaced by one of enlightenment and wisdom. In these final
moments of the forum, the participants expressed their delight at receiving
copies of Master's sample booklets and related discourses on UFOs, namely
"The Story Of Outer Planets" and "The Mystery Of The World
Beyond".
Throughout the forum, the initiates witnessed how a troubled and obstinate heart
could make people coarse and angry, and how kind and loving treatment could make
them happy and beautiful. The initiates also recognized the importance of
generosity and love, qualities that could be acquired, developed, and nurture
more only through spiritual practice.

Once a man bought a big birthday cake as an offering to a monk. Of course, the
cake was cut into pieces and everyone ate it together. As a result, from that
day on, many people came by, saying that they were the friends of the friends of
that person who had offered the cake. So they said.
When that monk heard about it, he allowed the people to eat and stay there, et
ceteria. That was what they had longed for - for food and lodging on the pretext
of the cake. It was all right, and the monk served them. Just for this present,
many people kept coming. One day that monk couldn't bear it anymore. The one
hundred and first person came, also saying he was the friend of a friend of the
person who presented the cake. He got a cup of water, put it by his side, took
out some flour, and said to the one hundred and first one who came, "These
are the ingredients of the ingredients of that cake." Similarly most people
of this world only listen to hearsay. They think they have religious beliefs,
and that they are enlightened.

Tornadoes Rip Through The Lives Of The People In Alabama
In a small valley where a community once thrived, debris and ripped timber now
litter the ground and only remnants of homes now stand. An elderly homeowner
rummages through his house, if it could still be called that since the roof was
torn away and laying in a neighbor's property and the walls lay crumbled on the
ground. He was looking for any part of his life that could be saved. Other
people, scattered here and there, stared in disbelief at their neighborhood,
where they, their friends, and their family lived, now laying in utter ruin. The
site looked more like a trash dump than a place where people lived and raised
their children. This was the aftermath of a tornado touching down and ripping
through the communities of Alabama in April of 1998. This was the scene that
President Clinton saw when he came and declared it a federal disaster area. This
was the scene that we witnessed when we came offering Master's love and
assistance to the victims.
When we reached the community described above, the National Guard, who
safeguarded the entrance to prevent looters, confronted us and told us that
special permits were required to enter. We simply showed them some
identification that we were the Supreme Master Ching Hai Disaster Relief Team,
which they accepted and then promptly gave us complete access to the blockaded
disaster areas. Bringing with us Master's love and care-packages containing
snacks and personal items, we visited the distraught residents who struggled to
pull their lives together.
Each told his horrifying story. One said that he, his wife, and son didn't have
time to run into the basement when they heard the tornado's terrifying howling
and so they just ran into the closet. Their next sight was of their roof being
torn off and whipping through the sky. He was happy that his family was alive
and that he could still rebuild. Receiving our gifts, he felt touched that we
had traveled so far to ease his suffering. Another man told how his brother's
house next door was ripped off its foundation and flung, with four family
members inside, over a hundred feet into a gully, killing the two children. His
own house was also demolished. He lamented how he had just finished paying all
his debts and finally owned everything before the fury of the tornado took
everything from him. In the delirious condition that he was in, we could only
listen in sympathy so that he could express his misery. Another person narrated
how he was sleeping on the porch when his friend dragged him into the house just
before the tornado tore off the porch. He was thankful for his life.
With each family we visited, we could feel their sorrow but also their faith in
God and Hiers protective power in saving their lives.
We also visited over 20 hospitalized victims at the Baptist Medical Center, the
University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, and the Carraway Methodist Medical
Center. At first we ran into red tape since hospital rules prevented our finding
out who the victims were, much less visiting them. But through the
communication, the supervisors of the hospitals consented. The patients all
welcomed our visit and gladly accepted our love. They were so surprised that we
came from several different states to share in their hour of unhappiness.
We talked to one man with a mental disability whose parents died in the tornado.
He was overcome with grief and felt lost in this world without them. We consoled
him and gave him a care-package and some money. He thanked us for being there
with him. We then talked to a lady who said her family was thrown along with the
house by the tornado. She was well enough to leave the hospital, but her husband
and son were not so fortunate. We visited her husband and he asked us to pray
for his son who was in critical condition at the Children's Hospital, while he
himself was paralyzed as a result of the tornado. We didn't need to pray knowing
that Master was taking care of them already.
From seeing the devastation caused by the tornado, we could see the ephemeral
nature of life and how things that we thought stood solid could be blown away
with the wind. Master teaches us this so that we will pursue spiritual practice
and realize the permanence of our God nature. Through the misery, the victims
found love from their fellow human beings and strength to rebuild. We disciples
hope that they also realize Master's teachings and begin building a home that
lasts, a home in the Kingdom of God.

Master Helps The Victims
Of The Hurricane Georges

Hurricane Georges took a terrible toll on the Caribbean, including the U.S.
Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Georges killed more
than 300 people in the Caribbean and left behind a heartbreaking trail of
destruction. Recovery will be long and painful and will take months or perhaps
years.
Georges took the lives of an estimated 300 people in the Dominican Republic
alone, and some 600,000 people there have been seriously affected.
In Haiti, heavy rains ruined the banana crops, clogged an already crippled
drainage system, and flooded entire cities. On September 26, the official death
toll was 87, with as many as 4,500 people homeless.
Georges hit Puerto Rico late Monday night, September 21, cutting diagonally
across the island. For twelve brutal hours, Georges lashed the island, exploding
windows, topping trees and power lines, triggering floods and mudslides, and
taking the lives of at least five victims. Tens of thousands of people were
forced to take cover in shelters, leaving their homes to the storm's fury. In
addition, more than 80 percent of Puerto Rico's 3.8 million residents were left
with no electricity, and 70 percent had no clean water. It may be weeks before
these basic necessities are fully restored. Countless roads and highways also
remain blocked by fallen trees, dangling power lines, and flood waters.
Georges inflicted an estimated $300 million in damages to Florida, two-thirds of
that in the Florida Keys, which were hit by the storm's 110 mph winds on Friday,
September 25.
Responding to this catastrophe, Master mercifully sent representatives on
October 1 to the American Red Cross in Central Florida and donated US$40,000.
The donation will be equally distributed to Florida, Puerto Rico, Dominican
Republic, and Haiti. The Red Corss's Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sumner
Hutcheson and Development Director Ms. Jeanne Morris welcomed our
representatives and provided a brief report of this disaster in Mr. Hutcheson's
office. Before our representatives left the office, Master called and spoke to
Ms. Morris. When our representatives asked Ms. Morris how she left when she
spoke to Master, she said that she was so honored and impressed to speak with
such a remarkable and philanthropic spiritual leader.
The Red Cross expressed its appreciation for Master's selfless love and
generosity to help Red Cross bring relief to the victims of this disaster.

Ruthless Floods, Human Love
Continuous torrential downpours have brought on the worst floods of the century
in many areas of China, leaving the Heilungkiang area in the northeast, the
middle and lower basin of the Yangtze River, and the southern Fujian Province
devastated by the raging waters in the past two months.
Just as many people had begun to feel an indifference toward the annual rise of
the rivers above the danger mark, the lives and property of 200 million people
came under serious threat from relentless floods that grew to be the worst in
Chinese history. As one flood crest closely followed another and the water level
rose with no sign of receding, states of emergency were declared in region after
region.
Moved by the unfortunate situation of their compatriots, the Hong Kong
initiates, despite an economic slowdown, launched a series of fundraising
activities for these suffering souls. Initiates raised HK$78,190 (about
US$10,000) and contributed it to the Hong Kong Red Cross China Relief Fund.
The Hong Kong Center remained open twenty-four hours a day, allowing the
initiates to attend, in turn, a non-stop meditation session to pray to God to
soon lead their compatriots out of dispair. Many initiates who have attended
this long meditation session have felt immense blessing from Master. Those who
have sacrificed their sleep for meditation have found themselves more energetic
and blissful without the need for rest. Nightlong meditation has filled them
with bliss.
Initiates also sponsored a one day charity sale at a vegetarian restaurant run
by fellow practitioners, calling for generous social participation in this
"Ruthless Flooding, Human Love" campaign. The enthusiastic response
kept many sister initiates busy in the kitchen as guests, several times the
number that usually frequented the restaurant on a normal business day, invited
friends to a vegetarian meal as an act of charity. The kitchen served up
delectable dishes and the guests savored each dish with loving hearts. Although
the restaurant was packed and people had to wait to be seated, this did not
dampen the spirit of cooperation or generous giving. On that day, the restaurant
raised HK$20,000 (about US$2,500) and contributed it to the Hong Kong Salvation
Army .
For the people in this prosperous city of Hong Kong, where the hectic lifestyle
has turned them into strangers, this fund-raising activity has unearthed in them
their original good and virtuous selves.
A Visit To The Home For The Elderly
Hong Kong disciples visited a local home for the elderly, bringing happiness and
loving care into the lives of the senior citizens there.

Life Is Ephemeral
Every month, members of the Sydney Center visit the Canley Vale Home for the
elderly, the largest institution of its kind in the southwestern part of Sydney.
This home houses senior citizens from many different ethnic backgrounds.
The staff leads the visiting initiates to every sick patient and each is warmly
greeted before he is presented with gifts and a sample booklet. Through their
conversations with the elderly, the initiates learn about the many heartbreaking
events in their lives. Some of the senior citizens used to receive visits from
family members in the beginning, but were later forgotten. They now have no
choice but to share the clothes and other necessities of those who have passed
on before them. One of the elderly ladies came from a wealthy family. When she
first arrived at the home, her children often came to visit and took good care
of her. But once she had signed her will, she was immediately rewarded with
being ignored by her family.
The initiates leave the home for the elderly feeling much distressed, but they
are thankful to Master for giving them the chance to learn the realities of
life. They can now better understand the precious lesson that Master has been
constantly teaching us all: We must practice diligently because life is
ephemeral. Don't wait until tomorrow because we never know what will happen
then.

Visit Of Love To The Taipei Happy Mount Home
On August 30, fellow practitioners from the Keelung Center visited the Taipei
Happy Mount Home, hoping to share Master's love and bring some joy into the
lives of the mentally disabled children housed in this suburban Taipei home.
The Center arranged for the participants to play the role of loving parents each
taking care of a child on that day. Games and group activities were specially
designed for the occasion by a sister initiate experienced in special education.
Through one-on-one contact and group activities, fellow practitioners planted
Master's love in the hearts of the children who quickly immersed themselves in
the joyful atmosphere and the ocean of Master's blessings.
At noon, the children were treated to a sumptuous European-style vegetarian
buffet, its diverse variety of attractive and delicious non-meat dishes
surprising the staff of the home who had not expected the Center to put so much
effort into culinary preparation. The day's activity drew to a close as members
of the Happy Mount Home and participating initiates shared in God's grace and
partook in the wonderful lunch.
Before the initiates left the home, they visited those children confined to bed
by severe disabilites, hoping to share Master's love with them as well. The
sight of these bedridden youngsters and the stories that the nurses recounted
about them touched the hearts of the initiates, many of whom were moved to
tears.
The initiates' acts of sincerity left the staff much impressed. Their material
contributions, the time they gave, and their heartwarming activity formed a
sharp contrast to the usual delivery of donations and gifts followed by a quick
departure as in the case of most charity donors.
Despite limited human and financial resources that have made it difficult for
the Keelung Center to sponsor such activities, fellow initiates in this northern
Formosan city took their first brave step forward, overcoming countless
difficulties in this major trial. The success of this activity has instilled
greater confidence among the initiates who have not forgotten to thank Master
for Her love and blessings, and Taipei initiates for their support.

Insight From A Fellow Practitioner
Sharing

On that day, I chose to become a one-day foster parent of a fourteen-year-old
boy who looked seven or eight years younger than his real age. He is both deaf
and mute, and could not move his limbs with agility. He is also autistically
inclined, so he could only communicate with me through his soul. This marvelous
conversation between hearts touched my soul and gave me great spiritual
inspiration. This teenager was so pure at heart and free from distracting
thoughts that he could concentrate fully in playing with any toy I handed to
him, while his dancing limbs showed how happy he was. When I served him food, he
would chose one piece at a time and eat it with total concentration gratefully
and happily. Sometimes, he would also sit in silence, absorbed in his own
thoughts. I wondered what was going through his mind? I took his hand trying to
get him to walk around, but he stretched out his arms asking me to carry him.
When I did carry him, he buried his head deep into my shoulder, throwing his
body into my arms to enjoy the warmth of maternal love. His face shone with
bliss, contentment, and unspoken gratitude. It was then that I realized the true
meaning behind the Confucian saying - love the elderly and children of others as
your own.

THE MOON FESTIVAL: Florida Style!

Fellow initiates from all over the United States were invited to the Moon
Festival celebrations at the Florida Center!
Shortly after lunch, Master arrived in a new golf cart and soon everyone
surrounded Her with joy and an outpouring of love for Her. She joked with us in
a relaxing and casual manner but intuitively sensed what disciples longed to
hear.
Responding to questions, Master spoke for quite a length of time about human
relationships and how She enjoys time alone to do what God has willed Her to do.
She said that ordinarily marriage would be too restricting for Her solitary
existence.
Master also reminded us that we should not always rely on Her but that we should
become more independent and strive to become Masters ourselves. However, during
the entire afternoon Master had been non-stop taking care of everyone,
personally coming to the entrance to greet those who had just arrived, carrying
them and their luggage in Her golf cart, arranging their sleeping places, et
cetera. She also went to kitchen and dining room to see everyone.
For children, it was their most beautiful paradise. Master joked with them, gave
them candies, and drove them around.
Later that evening, everyone gathered in the gym for the Moon Festival
entertainment program. Among the performers, the LA dance team presented a
traditional Moon Festival "Harvest Dance." It was truly spectacular
and Master poured all kinds of gifts and accolades onto the young performers. A
sister from the San Francisco Center also sang a beautiful Au Lac ballad and
performed one of Master's beautiful and enchanting poems.
After the show, Master threw traditional lucky money (in red envelopes) and
other gifts to the excited crowd. She even used this occasion to teach us the
values of honesty and how to share what we have with others. She did it in a
very loving way, yet made a strong point.
The evening celebration ended outside as we shared the simple joy of watching
the full moon in the night's indigo sky. Master took this opportunity to answer
more questions from disciples. In the end, She repeatedly said to all, "I
love you." Everyone then went to sleep or to meditate with an abundance of
love.

The Hopeful Future Of The World

Many people ask me, "Do You know that in the year 2000, people have
predicted that we will have the apocalypse (end of the world)? "So what
will You do about it? What do You think about it? I say, "I do
nothing." And I don't think anything about it because when we die, our
world ends anyhow, sooner or later. It's the eternal Kingdom that we have to
find, and not try to protect this ephemeral world, even though we could do it.
You Are The Ones Who Are To Save This World
When I was in Hong Kong, about ten or some years ago, I meditated in a temple. I
happened to pass by and just stayed in that temple through knowing a friend. I
just sat there and I was thinking about the revelation in the Bible that one day
the world would be "kaput."
I was very sad and I complained to God. I said, "You don't have the right
to do it. You have no right to make people suffer. If You want to destroy the
world, it's fine, but do it in one second." In the Bible it describes a lot
of suffering, and prolonged death which is terrible! I said, "You are God.
You can't do that! Why do You do that? You have to talk to the people and let
them know something else greater than that. Let them change their ways. Take it
easy! Give them time! Give them more chances to behave themselves, to improve
themselves. If You think the people here are not behaving properly, then You
have to teach them. You have to find some way to teach them and make the world
better." That's what I was arguing in some moments of emotional
disturbance.
So, God said to me, "Okay, then you do it." Hes put the trouble on my
shoulders. I thought it was a joke because, at that time, I didn't have any
disciples, and neither had it crossed my mind that I would become a Master, or
anything like that, one day. That was it; the vision vanished, and everything
went back to normal. That was a long time ago.
So today, I would like to tell you, if truly you worry about the end of the
world, then "You do it." You improve the people, improve yourselves,
improve our Earth, and make everyone realize that God is the most important
thing for us. God is that Supreme Wisdom within us. We have to look for it, use
it, to make us happy and to bless anyone that comes around us - visibly or
invisibly, verbally or silently.
Meditation Is To Open And Make Use Of The Supreme Power
It is not the purpose of any Master to come to Earth to tell people to worship
him, even though people might do it in the early days of their practice. They
identify the Master as their benefactor. But I always tell my fellow
practitioners that if any miracles happen to you, any wish is fulfilled,
anything you do better, any intelligence that you derive from your meditation,
it is your super-power at work. It is your own greatness that has awakened and
it has nothing to do with the Master. Well, it might have something to do,
because the Master is just a guide. Sometimes when you don't know which
direction to go, you stumble, or you have a little obstacle, then the Master
will just give you a lift, but that's all.
Everything comes from you. You are the greatest Master; therefore, Jesus had
promised us, Whatever I do, you can do better. [John 14:12] Did He not? Yes. Why
do we forget this? Why do we always humble ourselves, and pray for something
that we don't know? Why don't we know first, and then pray? I have discovered
this age-old, ancient way to have direct communion with the Kingdom of God. It's
not my invention. This method or so-called communion, "direct
hotline," is always available in this world - just from different places.
Therefore, initiation is to remind you of your greatest inheritance, and then
you make use of your treasure every day instead of relying on any Master at all,
whether dead or alive. That is the purpose of our practicing Method, and there's
no other purpose besides that.
Remember Your True Greatness
We have so much suffering in this world, we have a lot of unsuccessful
adventures, and we blame maybe God sometimes for not blessing us. But actually,
we should blame ourselves for not making use of the power that God has given us
since time immemorial. Because of not using this power, we are still here;
because of not using this power, we are suffering, or we see the suffering
around us; because of not using this power, we have wars with one another. Only
when we use this power, will we truly have everlasting peace.
But it is also better that even some portion of the world population uses this
power. It's already very, very uplifting for our Earth. Otherwise, it would
become hell. Hell is the place where no light can penetrate, where the people
completely forget the Kingdom of God, forget their supreme position in the
universe, and undergo untold suffering from their own illusionary conscience.
They punish themselves because they think they are guilty.
The people who are enlightened do not think of guilt as such. They will see
everything as a drama, a play from God, and therefore, they try to play
accordingly. Even if they have to undergo suffering as other people, their
spiritual power is so strong that they do not feel much effect.
Therefore, Jesus, while being crucified in such agony, in such a tremendously
painful situation, was still Himself. He was still very centered, and did not
pray for Himself, but prayed for others - prayed to the Father to forgive them
because they did not know what they were doing, and to forgive and bless the
fellows next to Him that they may know God. This is the greatness of Jesus. He
remained always even in any situation.
That greatness also lies within us. That's what makes the saints different from
us; that's what makes us worship all the saintly personages throughout the ages.
But it is better that we become one, like them, and then we can truly worship
them because we truly understand their greatness. Otherwise, we only understand
intellectually, literally, but we do not know. We do not realize it, and we
can't make use of this greatness to benefit ourselves, benefit our relatives and
friends, and benefit the world at large.
We would like to invite you to try to remember your greatness, because we were
not born to die. We were not born just to undergo stress at work and the
responsibility of raising children alone. We were born to know the greatness of
our Father. We were born to bless the world with our knowledge of this supreme
power within. We were not born to live just a few decades and then die - a waste
of our human life, a waste of God's creative power, a waste of the heroic ideals
inside our hearts.
We have to realize what we dream; we have to do what we wish to do. If we
haven't done it, we would do it now through our supreme wisdom, not through our
habitual thinking and organization. Everything we learn with the human
intellect, with the human system, is only useful at the human level. If we want
to be greater than that, we have to learn something super-human, which we have.
The human body is only our apparatus, only our office. It's not our real Self.
Otherwise, if someone lies there dead, you can't make him eat, you can't make
him speak, you can't make him think, even though his brain is still there, his
heart is still there, but it doesn't pump anymore.
What makes the body function? That is the supreme power. We should make use of
it before it's too late, before we have to undergo suffering again of birth,
death and old age to relearn all these from ABC. It's all right if you want to
come back and learn. But if you do not want to, if you want to begin right now,
we sincerely invite you with all love and nothing else - no money, no fee, now,
before, after, between and after death even. Truly, the Master power will help
you all the way through until you reach heaven, and never leave you or forsake
you until the end of the worlds. So, it's up to you to make a choice.

Now you see, God can even destroy the whole world if the world is not good.
If we are not good, then, just like machines which are rusted and of no use, we
have to be destroyed and made, into new instruments. The same substance made
into new instruments. For example, when you go to a garage or someplace, people
buy or tow back ruined cars or damaged metal parts, and apparatus. Then, they
press them into big lumps of metal, put a lump here and a lump there, and they
will be made into new apparatus, new instruments. These useless metal pieces
will become useful again.
It's not lost; it's not wasted; it's not thrown away, but just made into new
things. So, it's similar to all kinds of hells or retributions. It's just to
melt us to destroy some of the bad qualities, to make us into new, useful
persons again.
Sometimes we think the Earth is an inert place, with no feelings. But sometimes
we feel that she has some power, some feelings and some arrangement. She
supports everything, and transmutes all dirty things into beautiful things. But
sometimes she can't bear some bad people. So she kicks them out through
disasters; or swallows them up, digests them, and puts them in the bottom of her
stomach, out of sight.
You see now. Even though if we don't have wars, we have natural disasters. It
seems this is a natural evolution or natural arrangement, to regulate the world,
to make things maybe more beautiful or more balanced, and destroy some decayed
and useless part of the world, or maybe some very ugly mentalities in some part
of the population of the world.
Sometimes we cling to the existence of the world. Of course we feel sorry when
some things are destroyed. But maybe it's good; because to us, these are
beautiful, but in God's plan, they are not. For example, some very rich
families, when they move into new estates, the old houses are destroyed, and all
the things inside are burned up and thrown away. Many poor inhabitants in the
surrounding would feel very sorry about the houses and the things inside. But
for the rich people, these are garbage, no use whatsoever. They have many more
beautiful things. They will replace them after the old things are destroyed and
made invisible. And in place of those old and ruined houses, they build palaces.
But this is difficult to accept, because really our world is not easy to
understand. God is even more difficult to understand. So never mind if you don't
understand Hirm, that you don't understand the world. We can try at least to
understand ourselves, who we are, to find our real nature, our real purpose, and
then, maybe we'll be happy. At least we can start from ourselves. It's good to
trust God. But since every wise one has told us that God is within us, then, we
can try to find it. To find ourselves means to find the God within. I hope God
blesses us. If I can help you in any way, I will try. But everything works
according to God's will.
Two Choices
For The Future

We don't need to ask a prophet whether the world will end. If we continue the
life-style that most people live today, we might have to believe that the world
will end.
It's our duty to rescue people if we love this planet, if we think it's a
beautiful place, which it is. It takes billions, trillions of years to make one
until it is beautiful like today. We also have to make a contribution. If we
can, we fix it. Of course, if, after all, we've tried our best and still the end
of the world comes, then let it be. But if we can fix it, we should do it. So
spread the good news and let the people go back to the natural way of life, the
righteous way of life, that is, being vegetarian, being virtuous, keeping the
precepts, living a simple life, and thinking positively. Then our world will
have no problems, and we will probably live a few more thousand years in a
better condition.
There are two choices now - one is total destruction, another is go ahead with
progress in all ways of life, including spiritual. The future is in our hands,
really. There are no aliens who can do anything about it. There is no God who
punishes us. There is no Buddha who blesses us. It's only ourselves. We have to
make a choice, because that's how we grow - by making good choices.
Do Not Worry
About The Apocalypse

Do not worry about the apocalypse, because if we better ourselves, better our
environment through our conduct, and spiritual merit, the world will not be
destroyed. The world will be destroyed only when we don't have enough spiritual
atmosphere to protect it. If God thinks it's a rotten place, Hes will probably
destroy it to build a new one. Even then, we have our home to go back to;
tickets are booked, wait until the time, and then we fly up. We are all secure
and taken care of. Before you die, you will know what time and what the day will
be, so you will be ready.
Life and death to us, the initiates, doesn't mean anything. We just walk from
one room to the next, but to a better room, a more glorious one which we
deserve. So please love yourself. Meditate is to love yourself. Then when you
have so much love, you can radiate it to all the people around you and even
affect the whole world, lifting the consciousness of humankind to some higher
degree.

Disasters Are Created
By The Mind

There are many worlds and many levels in the universe. Our world is called
the physical world, where everything can be seen, grabbed, touched, or obtained.
There are other worlds which are created by the mind, the nearest one being the
astral world. Most of the time, our thoughts are low-level and ferocious or good
by so-called worldly standards. These thoughts will fly to a place nearby, the
astral world, which we call the atmosphere.
Sometimes we contract a disease or an infection, or disasters, war, or
catastrophes befall us. These are all created by the ferocious thoughts of the
Earthly people. We should not complain, "I'm such a good person and have
performed good deeds since childhood. How could I get such an incurable
disease?" Or, "My country is so good. People believe in God and
worship everywhere. Why does disaster strike us?" No matter what happens,
there is a reason for it. We Earthly people or our countrymen once had or have
bad thoughts. Even though bad thoughts arise for only a short while and are not
put into action, the thought-energy exists. The thought-energy seems to have its
own knowledge and intelligence, which we call elements. But thoughts have no
soul and, therefore, no God power. Knowledge is comparable to a computer, which
has no soul but can calculate with logic.
However, the ferocious and wrong thoughts are more powerful than the computer.
We can destroy a computer but it is difficult to erase a ferocious thought. No
matter how much time has passed, these thoughts continue to exist, coalesced
with thoughts of similar magnetic fields, and sooner or later, find an
opportunity to explode and release their energy.
If we stop using a computer or if we have used it for too long, it breaks down
by itself or crashes at the push of a button. All recorded materials naturally
disappear. But there is no way to erase vicious thoughts. They do not disappear
by themselves. Once they exist, they will continue to exist and develop into an
atmosphere surrounding us, our Earth, our country, villages and cities. Then
they turn into diseases, disasters or war.
What is disease? It is the atmosphere looking for similar thoughts and then
entering their magnetic fields. This is what we call "like attracting
like." The atmosphere waits until you have certain thoughts, or looks for
those who often have similar thoughts and enters their magnetic fields as there
is a gate. It is very easy for two of the same kind to mix together, penetrate
our magnetic field, our brain, our nerves, and destroy our resistance. Then we
get cancer, suffer neurological problems, or contract some disease that no one
has ever heard of. It is highly possible that those with vicious thoughts
generated bad auras in their past lives, and have, therefore, come back to
absorb the bad atmosphere they had generated previously.
Therefore, we should blame no one. We created everything; however, we can avoid
those things. For example, if we keep our body, speech and thoughts clean and
pure twenty-four hours a day, bad auras cannot enter us. Things of different
natures cannot absorb each other. When something different enters, it gets
alienated, just like oil and water do not mix.
We spiritual practitioners can eliminate a lot of karma. We may have had vicious
thoughts in the past, but we have less of them now. An atmosphere that would
have penetrated us completely now only seeps in a little. Perhaps we will itch
here or hurt there, or run a temperature for two or three days, but these will
not turn into cancer. Or we may have a small accident. Maybe our car will crash
but we will not die; we will only be slightly bruised or wounded.
Therefore, when we are in this mundane world, we should purify our body, speech
and mind in order to protect ourselves. Once we go beyond the three worlds,
there will be no problem. There will be no ferocious atmosphere. No one will
have vicious thoughts. Only pure people can go there.

Helping Others Is Helping Ourselves

True charity is to give and immediately forget, or it is not an act of charity.
No one in this world needs charity; it is we who need to give it. They (the
beneficiaries) are manifestations of saints who have come to test our
compassion, to see whether we can forsake our material assets, ability and time,
and if we can help ourselves. Sometimes we do not treat ourselves well like when
we are hungry, and we don't want to eat but prefer to wait just because we are
lazy, don't want to prepare the meal, or have other things to do. Likewise, when
we ignore others' suffering and fail to render charity, we are mistreating
ourselves. Treating others badly is the same as treating ourselves badly. If we
do not eat when we are hungry, but run around busy working instead, sooner or
later our stomachs will go kaput. It is true that we need the brain and other
parts of the body, but the stomach is ours too. Repeated abuse could lead to
grave consequences. Similarly, at a particular moment in time, we may have no
need for those who are destitute and miserable; they cannot help us when they
are sick, but they are also one of us, fellow citizens of the Earth. If all
sentient beings on Earth were happy and wealthy, would this not be a beautiful
planet?! When everyone is happy, we too will be happy.
Sometimes, a person in anguish can shake the cosmos. Are you aware of this? Of
course not! There is a type of saint revered as the Pure Ocean Saints who
provide special care for the grieving. For example, someone in the universe may
be in deep anguish because he is being treated unfairly or badly, or he is ill.
When he grieves, the whole universe shakes and our vibratory power is disrupted.
Therefore, the Pure Ocean Saints handle and take care of the unfortunate, seeing
to their needs and fulfilling their expectations. Otherwise, the vibrations of
their hearts will grow as their anguish intensifies, and the whole universe will
shake. Many things will be destroyed, we will feel unstable, the weather will
change, and the climate will be in a mess. Farmers' harvests will be affected
because rain and sunshine come at the wrong time, resulting in droughts and
other natural disasters.
Therefore, we are taking care of ourselves when we take care of others. Because
we do not understand this logic, we question why we should give charity to
others, help our neighbors, or make people happy. It is all because we want to
protect ourselves. When we help others to pursue spiritual practice, we are
contributing to the peaceful atmosphere around us, and this is beneficial to our
spiritual cultivation. Even if we are not that diligent in spiritual practice,
we will still enjoy rapid progress because everyone is at peace in a stable and
harmonious atmosphere.
Therefore, we do not practice alone; we should check whether our neighbors also
want to practice spiritually. You may have observed that some people do not only
practice spiritually but also encourage others to do the same. They find various
ways to help other aspirants discover the Truth, and these people are happier.
Look at your fellow practitioners, colleagues, neighbors or just any one. The
more they help others, the more their hearts open up. They become increasingly
relaxed, happy, and free from obstacles. This is the "way of a Saint".
Instead of practicing alone, we should try all means to help others pursue
spiritual practice, because we are helping ourselves by helping them. There is
nothing great about helping others to practice spiritually, bringing people to
listen to the Truth, or to see the Master. This is nothing to take pride in,
because we are only helping ourselves.

Illness Is A Blessing

My health had always been excellent, my bones and muscles being stronger than
most people's. I rarely fell ill, especially after I became a vegetarian. I
often thought that God had designed this almost super-human body for me to live
to a hundred and fifty years old! I often joked about it, thinking that God
might have intended for me to stay in the world to do more work; and in my
heart, I truly began to believe it too!
Little did I imagine then that a medical checkup by my doctor one day would
reveal that I had a tumor. The news came like a thunder bolt. It brought to mind
my childhood days when my family was in the meat business and my parents
sometimes bought illegally slaughtered pork because it was cheaper or for other
reasons. I had seen pigs' tumors with my own eyes. My parents had no bad
intentions but out of sheer ignorance, my mother cooked us the tumors because
they tasted more tender than pork. When I think of it now, I realize that we
were really most ignorant. Before we even mention the invisible karma this could
have brought on us, unconsciously we might have transplanted cancer cells in our
own bodies at that time. My mother died of cancer. Therefore, I recommend
readers to abstain from non-vegetarian food, for we consume a lot of diseases
along with it.
I had often heard that fellow initiates had many miraculous experiences and
recovered from incurable diseases, so I prayed to Master in front of Her
picture. I was not ready to die yet. I was destined to live a hundred and fifty
years and my term had not yet expired. I prayed and prayed, but the hard lumps
grew more and more obvious. I even found them in more than one area and they
hurt sometimes.
Every time I thought that I might have to be prepared to say good-bye to this
world, it would remind me that there were many things I should not put off any
longer. My husband had often told me about my tardiness. Suddenly I showed
improvement with this "problem". That was a recovery from another
"disease"! The medical society uses many light and sound treatments
today and as I came to truly believe in the therapeutic effect of the inner
light and sound, I began to take meditation more seriously. That could also be
considered a form of progress!
One day when I was watching one of Master's videotaped lectures, I heard Her
say, "People in this world are unaware of its ephemeral nature. They just
don't feel it. A true spiritual practitioner knows it very clearly. He cherishes
every moment and cannot sleep or eat well for a single moment, for he doesn't
know whether he will be able to solve his problems before he passes away; that
is, he has not become completely enlightened and doesn't completely understand
the world and the universe. But most people are different. Therefore, they will
not achieve much progress in their spiritual practice. They think they can take
it slowly, and they have time."
Master also said, "When a birth or death relates to us or to our relatives
and friends, our feelings are involved. Then we realize clearly that the world
is indeed ephemeral. The world is truly unreliable. If it is other people's
business, we aren't so deeply affected emotionally. We might even talk
lightheartedly, "Well! Never mind! The world is ephemeral; people come and
go all the time." We may even console them. However, when it concerns our
personal feelings, or when it happens to our relatives or friends, we have
different feelings. Sometimes, because we, ourselves, cannot perceive the
impermanence of the world, God gives us some mishaps, using the so-called shock
treatment method to awaken us. Only then will we be deeply impressed and realize
that it could happen to us tomorrow. This world is really not a permanent place.
At that time, we feel we should pursue spiritual practice quickly, and
understand our inner self as soon as possible. Therefore, disasters are not bad.
It's just that we have to pay a high price."
After listening to Master's teachings, I realized that the shock that God had
given me was in fact Hiers blessing. I also realized that my prayers still
focused on my physical body. Since then, I would rather have these diseases all
the time to remind me that I need to be more diligent. Otherwise with my weak
mind, I would never know when my determination for diligent practice would grow
or wane. I have learned that disease is one of God's ways of strengthening our
mind power. I cannot help but praise the Old Man's power. I have also realized
that Master always responds to my needs. What She has given me is what my soul
needs rather than what I ask in my prayers for my ephemeral physical body.

Through The Valley
Of Death
With Master

Before initiation, I was very eager to meet an enlightened Master. However,
prior to this, decades of futile searching had left me penniless. I had wasted
my money and youth, and even sacrificed my health in the process. By chance, I
cam e across "The Key Of Immediate Enlightenment" by Supreme Master
Ching Hai. Joy filled my heart as though I had found a treasure. I read the book
every day, making sure I did not miss a single word or sentence. A clear inner
sound arose in my ear. Master once said, "When you have faith in the
Master, you have already been initiated by Her." This is absolutely true. I
prayed then that She would return soon to Formosa so I could be initiated.
After my initiation, Master's intense blessing power immersed me in the ocean of
love every day. The joy of meditation erased all my worries and concerns, and
the sound stream accompanied me constantly. However, the path of spiritual
practice is strewn with rocks and thorns, and trials soon appeared.
I remember once my blood pressure rose to around 230 mm Hg (systolic). I went to
the hospital as an outpatient to be checked and was fifty-seventh in a long line
of patients. My head seemed to be exploding and I could hardly stand up. Under
Master's wonderful arrangement, the doctor started to see the patients ahead of
time, and surprisingly, I was moved up in the queue to number three. Thus, was I
able to survive that difficult time.
In the following month, my battle against illness left me bedridden. My mind
took command and told me that I could not meditate because of my pain and
misery. The less I meditated, the weaker my inner power became. As I went to
group meditation less frequently, my determination to pursue spiritual practice
began to waver. Maya often came to test my spiritual strength, and left me
confused and lost. I prayed to Master for the right instructions, wondering what
life would be like if I did not practice spiritually. Which path should I choose
at this crossroads?
It was then that Master reached out Her helping hand yet another time. One day a
sister initiate drove me to group meditation. When I mentioned my dilemma, she
said, "If you are sick, you should see a doctor. But you have signed an
invisible agreement with Master, so you should practice diligently and fulfill
the terms of the agreement." Deep down, I felt ashamed when I thought of
how Master had been taking care of me and yet how I had been deceived by the
mind's ignorance and forgotten my purpose, that of going Home.
From then on, I meditated very diligently and attended every group meditation
session. Despite the physical pain, I began to experience a sense of upliftment
brought on by love. I learned not to be anxious and fearful, and to overcome
pain through meditation. Of course, this was by no means easy. It was a process
of constant struggle, self-reminding, and standing back up after countless
setbacks. Out of ignorance, I would give in to anger, to a complaining, worrying
mind. But I discovered that if you succumb to Maya's trap, your tests in life
will be doubled.
One month before I decided to attend the Christmas 1997 Four-Day Retreat in
Washington, D.C., God again tested my patience and determination. During that
month, there was no peace in my family. It started with my husband's surgery on
November 21st. The day after his surgery, I got cellulitis -- a big lump grew
near my ear and left that side of my face swollen. The doctor diagnosed it as a
tumor and decided to do a CAT scan.
At the time, I was taking care of my husband at the hospital and the children at
home, and did the best I could to meditate and pray for Master's help. I told
myself firmly that I had to face the difficult situation bravely and should not
be defeated by it. I tried to dissolve anger, complaints and withdrawal into
love, patience and tolerance. In every minute of my pain, I was convinced that
if I perservered, the next day would be better.
Two weeks later, my husband recovered and returned to work. My pain and swelling
began to subside and finally I too recovered. Throughout this experience, I knew
I was not alone. Master was always right next to me, embracing me in Her love
and enabling me to come through the difficulties with an excellent performance.
By the time things were back to normal, it was time to fly to America for the
retreat. I went on my journey with profound gratitude. During the four-day
retreat, Master's love -- so delicate, so right and indiscernible -- enriched my
love. I know that despite the rocks and thorns on the path of spiritual
practice, we are the most fortunate children of all, because Master's love is
always with us. I truly believe that She takes care of each one of us in
different ways. Under Her arrangements, we should bravely journey through the
path of human life and return to our real Home.

Q: I had a most amazing experience in December. I was in my bed, it was
nighttime, and all of a sudden, I heard angels, and I heard thousands of them.
It was like "ah", but magnified by thousands. Then I left my body and
went out into the courtyard and I was flying with the angels. They were there.
They were really, really, really, big and they were angels. Then the next day,
my brother was at the table, I hadn't told him this experience, and he said
"Oh, guess what? Last night, I heard angels, and there were thousands of
them."
M: He also heard them.
Q: He heard them but he didn't fly. He didn't go up there with them. My question
is, I never really believed in them so much before, but now I really believe.
Are these realms, I mean, was that real? Are there realms like that, where there
are angels ?
M: Of course. That's when you die. You die daily. You leave your body and come
back. That's the real resurrection. People only meet angels when they die, when
they come and take them to a higher realm. But you can die like that all the
time and come back. That's what we call liberation in this lifetime. Heaven is
at hand. Now you know what the Bible is talking about.
Even though your brother was not in the same category as you are, he also heard
it because of the transmission between you, brother and sister. Your vibration
lifted him up also. That's what we are, Quan Yin practitioners, everywhere we
go. We, the meditators, the serious practitioners, bless everywhere we go,
everyone we see, everyone we think of, be it humans, animals, ghosts or angels .
We bless them without knowing it. It's just by chance that you know that. So
your brother was blessed by you at that time. Because you raised your level and
he was nearby, he was blessed. He's more sensitive, so he picked it up. But your
whole family was blessed; it's just that they did not know it.

The "Wonderful" Experience
Of Having "No" Experience!

In May 1997, an initiation was held in Henan Province of China. Before the
initiation session concluded, the Quan Yin messenger asked the new initiates
whether they had had any experiences. All of them raised their hands except two.
The Quan Yin messenger asked one of them, "Did you see any light?" The
answer was no! "Did you hear any sound?" The answer was also negative.
"However, during the initiation, Master got up from Her seat, walked to us,
and blessed each of us on the head." The Quan Yin messenger asked,
"Are you sure that was Master?" "Yes! She was wearing a yellow
robe." The Quan Yin messenger asked further, "Did She bless me as
well?" The fellow initiate looked at him and said, "You have the
Master on you." "Yes, I am wearing Master's photo, but you have not
told me whether Master blessed me or not." The fellow initiate thought for
a while and said, "I don't think so; I only saw Her bless those taking the
initiation today."
The Real One

On January, 1998 in Liaoning, I met a family whose members were all initiates
except for the father, who was in his fifties. Although he had great faith in
Master, he wanted to wait another two years until he retired. No matter how the
family tried, they could not persuade him to become an initiate.
One day, for some unknown reason I asked the family to bring the father for
initiation as soon as possible. The family members told him about it
immediately. Incidentally, on the night before that, the father had dreamed of a
Quan Yin messenger coming to visit him. The Quan Yin messenger was very
beautiful and radiant with light. Eager to find out if the Quan Yin messenger
then in Liaoning was the one he saw in his dream, the father rushed to the
initiation site on his bicycle. After he met the messenger, he left with
satisfaction though it was too late to receive initiation that day. However, he
was happily initiated not long after that.

One day in 1992, a couple visited the Center in Brazil to ask some spiritual
questions. Both had practiced spiritually for many years. Throughout our
conversation, I noticed that the wife was gazing at me quietly. When her husband
had finally finished asking his many questions, she suddenly said to me,
"Your wisdom eye is triangular in shape, and the light radiating from it
is...." I was astounded. Though I have experienced some light in all these
years of following Master, I was often frustrated by not having any special
visions. I had not even seen a ghost, not to mention the saints. It was really
embarrassing that I needed someone else to tell me what my third eye looked
like! This couple and their children have since been initiated and are
practicing diligently.
Upon my return to Formosa, I once had the chance to tell Master this story.
Master laughed and commented, "Luckily not all people are blind. At least
one of them could see it, and helped to bring faith to someone." Since
then, whenever I am frustrated by not seeing any visions, I remember this story
and encourage myself, "Master knows what is best for me. If I cannot have
any extraordinary visions, then my mind won't be distracted. Master must have
covered them for me for the meantime!"

An Extraordinary Painting That Still Appears Real When One's Eyes Are Closed

A shattered heart, a fallen leaf, an empress' fan, a precious gem in the heart
of the boulder, or a whole treasure fallen from the sky into the middle of an
ocean splashing water in every direction?
The more time we spend looking at the painting "Enlightenment" by
Supreme Master Ching Hai, the more varied images we can see. The contrasting
colors of purple in the background, bright yellow in a heart, and red and dark
brown in the border around the heart add an uplifting sensation to the painting
like white clouds in the middle of the sky, going against Earth's gravity to
enter into the boundless cosmos. The viewer feels as if he is being upheld by an
invisible power to be free from the influence of naked eye observation so as to
hear the subtle vibrations resonating from the flickering colors found in each
brush stroke of the enlightened artist. He is able to enjoy wonderful mysteries
and feel fine tuned frequencies, which are indescribable in worldly language and
not arguable by the Earthly mind. This precious experience enjoyed by the viewer
is mainly a result of his mind being free of preconceptions, disagreements, envy
and suspicion, which have long been rigidly and fully contained.
A second glance at the colors and style used by Supreme Master Ching Hai will
assure one that the painting "Enlightenment" was completed with ease
and fun, much like taking a breath without any effort, strenuous attempts or
fictitious thoughts. "Enlightenment" spontaneously reveals its beauty
to viewers like a flower, a flying butterfly, the evening dew or morning
sunshine. "Enlightenment" is a word of affection full of love spoken
to us in the simplicity and the true existence of enlightenment of its colors
and simple construction, which anyone could easily reconstruct...
A gem in the middle of a flower, in the heart of each one of us, is the power of
the immeasurable, the strength of the invincible, which is God's soul full of
love grander than the vast ocean. Everyone has this power and wisdom at his
disposal to reach enlightenment. Naturally, we should feel the artist's urgent

Sharing the Truth Via Art
While in Europe, Master once commented, "Many people are rich in material
blessings and have noble qualities. However, they would prefer to go to a
concert, an art exhibition, a jewelry show or other artwork exhibitions rather
than to a lecture given by an enlightened Master." Thus, Master has made
adjustments in Her Truth-sharing mission and extented Herself to foster ties of
affinity with people through artistic forms.
The S.M. Celestial Jewelry was recently showcased from July to September at
the Jewelers of America International Jewelry Show in New York, at the Midora
Jewelry Exhibition in Leipzig, Germany, and at the Taipei International Jewelry
Exhibition. These jewelry show acquainted large numbers of people with Master
Ching Hai in an uplifting sharing of the Truth through artistic creation and
appreciation.
The New York Event
The New York International Jewelry Show was open only to professionals in the
jewelry trade. Participants included jewelry traders, designers, antique dealers
and collectors from around the world.
The charming beauty and unique style of the Celestial Jewelry items won great
admiration and commendation from visitors to the show, some of whom lauded them
as being the best among all the Show exhibits.
Leipzig Fair
The Midora Jewelry Exhibition took place at Leipzig, a city in the former East
Germany. At the exhibition, we displayed each piece in the entire series of S.M.
Jewelry, including Master's latest design, "Real Royalty". Many
visitors felt attracted by the beauty and extraordinary designs of the jewelry
and exclaimed in phrases like "Wonderful!" or "This is truly
incredible!"
We video interviewed two specialists in the field of jewelry design, Mrs. Eeva
Wornell from the Goldsmithing Development Centre in Lahti Finland, and Prof.
Andrzej Szadkowski from the Academy of Design and Fine Arts in Poland. Mrs.
Wornell especially liked the children's collection and praised it for the
happiness that radiates from it. Prof. Szadkowski said that he was deeply moved
by what he had seen and that through the S.M. Jewelry he had found inspiration
for his own work in jewelry design.
The Taipei Show
Chen Jui-lin, chairman of the Formosa Jewelers Association, had many words of
praise for Supreme Master Ching Hai's jewelry designs. In his eyes, each piece
of Celestial Jewelry was superbly and skillfully designed, highly functional and
valuable; even the tiny accessories had their secret functions. Chen
complimented Master as a top-class designer whose unique style places Her among
world-class jewelry designers.
Russian-born designer Victor Steinberg, cutely nicknamed Rocky Mountain" in
Chinese, was particularly impressed by the "Hidden Force Connection"
collection, the color and style of which, he noted, best represented the
primordial universe. Having noticed that many of Master Ching Hai's works - such
as the Bodhidharma collection - were crafted in gold mounted with green jade,
Steinberg suggested the use of a purer green to go with the yellow gold to make
the jewelry collections more attractive. Perhaps only some artists would be able
to understand the original intent of an artistic and enlightened Master. It
might be very difficult to find a purer green jade to go with the gold, but the
materials that can be found for jewelry production can only express a very tiny
fraction of the superlative message that is to be conveyed in Master Ching Hai's
designs.
Also participating in the Taipei exhibition was sister initiate Lai Chin-tai,
who was invited as one of Formosa's outstanding designers to display her works
in the prominent designers' gallery. Her diamond jewelry design was nominated
for the 1998 De Beers International Jewelry Competition. Year after year, sister
Lai has achieved phenomenal success with jewelry designs due to her spiritual
insights, drawing inspiration from the plain world of nature for her themes,
such as guavas, peanuts, spiders and leaves. Every work of wisdom that she has
skillfully crafted is a marvel to anyone who has the chance to appreciate it. No
truth is more clearly revealed in sister Lai's story than the fact that
enlightenment can help people develop their latent talents, and can help them
attain greater perfection in life.
For a teacher surnamed Kuo who flew from Kaohsiung in southern Formosa to visit
the Taipei exhibition, the purchase of a ring from the "Seeing With The
Soul" collection led him through an experience soon after. He experienced a
spiral of energy soaring from within, and saw a celestial body-like object on
which many mounds melted and erupted before condensing into a rock. The rock
flew through the air as its surface fissured until it became transparent and
emanated polar lights. The vision ended when aurora streamers appeared around
the rock. From this experience, Kuo realized the true meaning of "Seeing
With The Soul".
Although the Celestial Jewelry booth was the last stop for one woman visitor to
the show, she nonetheless was fascinated by Master Ching Hai's designs that
expressed a vital life force that she had not seen anywhere else. A total
stranger to Master, she was moved by happiness and wanted to try on every one of
the items as soon as her fingers touched the jewelry. In the works, she
perceived the great wisdom of the designer and was reluctant to leave.
An economic slowdown in Formosa dampened the public's interest in the jewelry
show this year. The S.M. Celestial Jewelry booth was the only one that attracted
a constant crowd of visitors who thus became acquainted with Master Ching Hai.
This designer with Her works of wisdom also evoked the interest of many jewelers
who stopped by the booth to appreciate Her style. Here, fellow initiates
acquired many new items for their collection. While bestowing graceful elegance,
they also catch the eye of many curious people, presenting an opportunity to
learn about Master. The Celestial Jewelry has invisibly planted many seeds of
Truth around the world, its art forming bridges leading the people of this world
to a living enlightened Master.
Chang Chieh, a well-known Formosan painter of lotus blossoms, was highly
impressed by Master Ching Hai's works of art, especially the "Spring Your
Soul" and "Heavenly Dragon Imperial Cutlery" collections. Having
a long white beard and dressed in a traditional Chinese long gown when he
visited the booth, Chang commended the ingenious match of green (emerald and
jade) and red (coral) gemstones in the "Spring Your Soul" collection.
The jade representing the East and the emerald representing the West are used
together to express the beauty of the East and the West. Chang Chieh was deeply
impressed by Master's use of vibrant gold in Her works, which is in sharp
contrast to the broader use of silver as the main material by most designers.
What fascinated him most in the Heavenly Dragon set were the teapot, the high
gloss plates and the cups inlaid with rubies. Chang observed that the glossy
surface of the dishes and the contrasting frosted surface of the cups yield a
remarkable aesthetic effect. He also noted that the cups with their fogged
surface deserve long and intense appreciation. Though Chang Chieh did not know
Master personally, he held Her in high esteem and regarded Her works as on a par
with those by European jewelers.

The Ruby Within

On the first Sunday of August, I cheerily went with some fellow initiates to
Hsihu Center. When I was meditating in the Bamboo Grove that afternoon, I
suddenly perceived a ruby with my wisdom eye. I was amazed by this unexpected
vision. After carefully observing its shape and size, I was sure that I had
never seen it before. Then the ruby disappeared. After the meditation, I
wondered if this ruby was one of Master? latest jewelry designs. I wanted very
much to see it in real life.
Master? Celestial Jewelry was exhibited at the Taipei International Jewelry Show
on September 4-8, and I had the honor of being on the working team. Many
visitors and fellow practitioners came on the opening day of the exhibition and
what impressed them most was ?he Real Royalty??the latest ruby collection
designed by Master. Someone was trying on the ruby ring, and I too went over to
take a look. I was astounded, because the ruby mounted on the ring looked
exactly like the one I had seen in meditation that Sunday. I was both surprised
and touched. When I tried it on later, I felt in the depths of my heart that
Master is always with me, and that our hearts are closely linked together. I can
recall the many setbacks I have had on my spiritual path. When I was the most
depressed, Master always forgave me and encouraged me from within, giving me the
courage to stand up again. She has also given me many opportunities to learn and
correct my inner undesirable qualities.

The Four-Day European Retreat
(August 25-28, 1998)
Fellow initiates in France were exposed to a series of challenges as soon as
they decided to prepare for a four-day European retreat this year. Obstacle
followed obstacle during the preparations, even in the selection of the venue,
until they crossed the final hurdle in opting for a newly developed camping
ground to the north of Paris. Surprisingly, they found that God and the saints
had already arranged for guardian angels to be there waiting for them. Without
the owner's hospitality and heartwarming support, fellow initiates could not
have enjoyed a simple and peaceful retreat. For several days before the retreat,
God sent heavy rain and gusty winds to clean the land. And when the retreat
commenced, the weather turned bright and sunny, surprising even the owner who
revealed that he had never witnessed such a heavy rainstorm.
On the last evening of the four-day retreat, the owner set up a campfire and
joined the fellow initiates in song and dance, rejoicing in God's boundless love
until three in the morning. The initiates then packed their luggage and sped to
the airport on previously arranged buses to board flights back to their homes.
Yours Always, Ching Hai
During the initiation ceremony held before the four-day European retreat, a
fellow initiate from Slovania witnessed Master's transformation body giving
initiation and saw Her in extreme pain and suffering as She took on the karma of
sentient beings. Much to his surprise, however, a couple of minutes later, he
saw Her body radiating a brilliant halo of light and celebrating with joy and
bliss.
During the retreat, initiates received a faxed message written by Master
Herself. In the letter, She congratulated the initiates for being able to get
together for the retreat and apologized for Her inability to share the joy of
meditation with them in person. Her heart is always with them and She and the
initiates are one in spirit, She said.
When the initiates came upon the last few words where Master signed, "Yours
always, Ching Hai," their hearts melted in the immeasurable love of Her
profound promise of eternity.

Three-day South American Retreat
(September 5-7, 1998)
"Nirvana is within us" - this was the profound experience that every
one of the fellow initiates enjoyed during the three-day South American retreat.
It is not easy for fellow practitioners from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Mexico and
Brazil to get together, but they did it in Sao Paulo, at a beautifully serene
and scenic spot far away from the din and bustle of the cities. Here, they
shared an enjoyable three-day retreat.
During group meditation on the first day, the rain fell intensively. The
initiates understood tacitly that Master's blessings, like the most accurate
clock, never come late. The rain brought the most powerful blessings to nourish
all creation on Earth and cleanse away the dust in the hearts of the initiates.
It increased their concentration and raised their blissful hearts even higher as
they sat in meditation.
The second evening was memorable. The initiates organized a vegetarian barbecue
party and enjoyed games and performances by fellow initiates from different
countries. They sang, played, and danced without distinctions of nationality,
race or age, coming together like one, big, intimate family.
During these three days, a Quan Yin messenger lovingly answered all of the
fellow initiates' questions, helping them to develop a correct understanding of
spiritual practice and to solve the many problems they had encountered on the
path. Some fellow initiates discussed the benefits they had derived from their
meditation, which strengthened other initiates' faith in their own practice.
This, in effect, was equivalent to offering mutual help and encouragement on the
loving path of the Quan Yin Method.

God's Children In Tauranga
At the Healthy Life Expo in July 1998, Tauranga practitioners, with help from
fellow initiates from Auckland, Hamilton and New Plymouth, set up a display
booth to introduce Master's teachings to the general public.
There was an interesting happening on the second morning of the Expo. A family
was passing our booth when their 4 year old son ran to the TV showing one of
Master's talks and started touching and patting Master on the screen, repeating
I like, I like, I like. The family stopped to watch the video. When they decided
to leave, the little boy refused to go, he just grabbed hold of the lectern not
wanting to leave Master.
A seminar was presented in the adjacent theatre by the visiting Quan Yin
messenger who answered the many questions that were put to him by the public.
As a direct result of this PR activity, our next group meditation increased by
several new people. Almost every day since the Expo someone has phoned
expressing an interest in the Convenient Method meditation and several want to
be initiated into the Quan Yin meditation method.

Master's teachings with neighbors, relatives and friends on the occasion, making
them feel like a happy family.

the Convenient
Method or in receiving initiation. Participants

Fantastic Stories About The Celestial Clothes Boutique
Every visit to the Celestial Clothes Boutique in Hong Kong means a brand new
experience amidst the different window displays changed frequently by sister
initiates working at the sales outlet. Visitors are greeted by a sister serving
candies that sweeten their hearts even before they have melted in their mouths.
Here, where the extraordinary vibrations and aura breathe new vibrant life into
the green potted plants, many fascinating events have occurred in the two months
that the boutique has been open, the sister attendants revealed.
A practitioner of the Convenient Method on his first visit to the boutique
noticed that it looked especially bright from a distance. Yet when he arrived at
the gently lit store, he noticed that there were few lamps. He is reported to
have asked the sister initiates in bewilderment why the boutique looked so
bright from the outside.
There is truly something very attractive about the Celestial Clothes Boutique
that often brings passers-by to a halt before the shopping windows to watch
videotapes presenting fashion shows of the Celestial Clothes. In a boutique
nearby, a saleswoman who expressed a special likeness for Master's designs often
brings customers to appreciate the Celestial Jewelry.
On a visit to the boutique, a sister initiate purchased and gave a waist belt to
her maid, who was accompanying her on a shopping trip. For three consecutive
nights, the maid had dreamt of Master conversing with her and knew that She had
come to bless her.
For another sister initiate, the purchase of a green Celestial Bag, designed
like a pair of lips that open in a broad smile, marked the beginning of a
vibrant life. The more she looked at it, the more she loved it and the happier
she felt; so too were the sister initiates at the boutique happy for her.
Once, a mistake in measurement resulted in some rings being made the wrong size
and a new order had to be placed. These rings became part of the inventory for
immediate purchase; it also turned out to be a fantastic arrangement by God. A
brother initiate chose to buy a ring for his friend as a gift; the size was just
right upon trying it on, so his friend received the gift without having to wait.
Master's immense blessing power so overwhelmed a sister initiate when she tried
on one of those rings that she refused to take it off and decided to give
herself a special treat. She also persuaded her husband and younger sister to
visit the boutique to choose one for themselves. These incidents show that one
can hardly draw a line between the good and the bad; every day is full of
miracles!

series of exciting, entertaining family programs during summer vacation for the
"little children," "grown-up children" and "old
children". The programs included stage performances by the darling little
angels, highly competitive games and other activities such as: a creative food
fair, an art exhibition featuring works
by Supreme Master Ching Hai, fitness and cosmetic consultations, and a thematic
display of the "beauty
of scarves". The events attracted large crowds that
filled the arena with cheerful laughter
throughout the day.
Happy Bird Summer Camp Imbues Love, Positiveness And Thankfulness To God
[Report From Taichung]During the August 22-23 weekend before school opened for
the fall semester, endless laughter reverberated through the beautifully serene
Delia Church camp grounds at a special activity for young initiates held by the
Taichung Center. About a hundred children and teenagers enjoyed an experience of
infinite love at the Happy Bird Summer Camp featuring a diverse variety of
programs designed to imperceptibly imbue love, positivism and thankfulness into
their daily lives.
Through this two-day and one-night camping event, the very young initiates
learned to be independent and self-reliant, while the older juvenile initiates
learned to love, respect, and be concerned about others. And of course, the
parent initiates were both touched and appreciative of these remarkable changes
in their children.
A Midsummer Night's Date With Beauty
[Taichung] The Taichung Center held a series of workshops on dance, poise,
appearance and how to apply make-up as well as a celestial fashion show to help
initiates who have Celestial Clothes to better understand how to dress with
confidence and wear beautifully matching outfits and accessories. This central
Formosan show also offered an opportunity for other initiates to appreciate the
marvelous and different appearances of those dressed in Celestial Clothes. With
daily practice, every model became more and more beautiful and elegant. Many
sisters perceived changes within themselves both in heart and body, and
experienced an uplifting of the inner qualities of Truth, virtue and beauty,
once they were dressed in Celestial Clothes.
They also learned to help each other and to grow together. Many expressed their
appreciation to Master Ching Hai for blessing the Celestial Clothes with wisdom
and love, and for encouraging them to go bravely into the world for spiritual
purposes, to beautify this planet, and to use the world's material resources to
help the global family of brothers and sisters develop spiritually. The audience
was amazed to see these everyday simply dressed sisters transformed into
beautifully graceful ladies that seemed to have come from the heavenly world.
Meanwhile, the Taichung Center set up Chinese folk music classes for those
interested in learning to play the flute and nan-hu. Participants
enthusiastically led by the musically proficient brother Wang presented a warm
picture of musical harmony. As each participant, whether old or young, practices
diligently, the sound of music from the flute or nan-hu will make each day more
interesting and fulfilling.

The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Clears Trash In Chingtan

Local residents have long been annoyed by the litter cluttering the Orchid Lake
Scenic Zone in Chiayi, since visitors often leave behind a messy picture of
strewn garbage in this central Formosan tourist spot. In response to the
Environmental Protection Bureau's "Do Not Leave Your Garbage Here"
campaign, about a hundred members of the Chiayi Center of the Supreme Master
Ching Hai International Association met at 9 A.M. on August 23 to conduct a
carpet search for trash in the Orchid Lake and Jenyi Lake areas. As the
participants filled the bags with garbage, their hearts were also filled with
love.

'Health Day' Activities
[Taipei] On the fourth Sunday of each month, the Taipei Loving Food Store
sponsors a series of 'Health Day' activities, which include talks on health
issues and vegetarian cooking and baking classes, attracting large crowds of
visitors to the store. These activities enhance harmonious relations with the
neighborhood while samples of the food help promote vegetarianism in the
community. The lectures provide the most up-to-date information on
health-related topics such as the effect of excessive protein intake on the
human body, skin care, common nutritional deficiencies among vegetarians and how
to maintain a balanced diet.

The Eagle From The West Meets The Dragon From The East

This is how the story begins...
In 1993, fellow initiates were helping Master with a disaster relief effort for
the raging fires in Laguna Beach, California. Master had been invited to speak
at an interfaith prayer ceremony on behalf of the fire victims. Among the
Buddhists, Hindu, Christian and other faiths, there was also Thomas One Wolf, a
Native American elder from the Saquamish (the tribe of the famous Chief Seattle
in Washington State), representing the Native American cultures. On this
occasion, Thomas One Wolf said that he wanted to deliver a message to Her:
"The elders want me to greet You with honor, that You are the great One.
After the ceremony, he and his wife invited Master to bring a small group to
dinner at their home. It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere and everyone
laughed and talked together as old friends that day.

THOMAS ONE WOLF: "Maybe I can share with those people that have walked
with You today. One of the greatest gifts that the Indian, especially in my
walk, have received is that we are not but maybe a messenger in these times and
we have come to learn that because we are so few we must do the part that we can
and deliver these messages of the deepest spiritual sense and of the very
deepest meaning to our peoples. To those who say Grandfather, or God as you
would know Hirm, guides our lives. Usually it is in an easy way that we talk
because we don't have so many big words. And when I share a message like today
with Master, it is because She is not so fortunate as I. She has to go to the
world and give that message. I must go to the mountain to get it.
So it is with beauty these very happenings; this seems small but it is only
small until Her knowledge becomes wisdom. Her wisdom is knowledge shared. So in
every word that She speaks, when She is being of lightness and happiness or
sharing a joke or in that way with you, remember something: the only word you
are really hearing is Joy. When you are walking with Her and you see people that
will respect and honor Her way and pay homage to Her, then you are gifted by the
gift of Her peace.
These are what Masters are to the Indian. We do not know their ways, we only
know one thing and have come to know it for thousands of years. The only word
that the Americans have brought to us that would say it, is good. This is good
that the whole world can hear, that the Dragon from the East meets the Eagle
from the West and they come together and say "I love you;" and that is
the world's message.
The Masters will teach you how to obtain peace of heart, harmony and balance. I
do not know the ways to teach you that. I only know how to achieve as we call it
"As-ho" it means harmony, balance and peace of oneself. I can do that
when I go to my mountain. The Masters have got the biggest job on Mother. They
must share with the multitudes and they are truly the picture I paint when I
tell many like yourselves to listen, the thunder voices are coming and truly I
mean that in the best way. And the honor that the Master would pay to come and
receive the message, so simple as the one I have. For Her to come tells me okay
now I can go to my mountain and await for the next one(message).
So I pray that all of you, the Eagles of the West, and the Eagles here that have
joined us as well, that all of us can remember that when all else is removed,
what is She but my sister and yours. I love you each and all of you and thank
you for blessing my home this day and it is as it should be. Aho!" (An
Indian term meaning "so be it".)
MASTER: "I am so touched by your sincerity and your humility. That is
something I have to learn also. I don't have enough humility. I have humor but
no humility! I've tried to learn; it is hard to be humble, one American song
says.
Well I guess God doesn't want me to be humble, Hes wants me to do something
regardless of my personality. And as I have just told your Brother Teacher, just
treat me as a friend because it doesn't matter what title I am wearing, it is
just a kind of habit like clothes. You can't just take it off, it's too late. I
myself do not feel I'm a Master of any kind. Otherwise, I couldn't joke with
you, I couldn't be with you like that, I would be stuck. So I just ask him and
yourself to treat me as a sister, a friend and if I can help you in anyway, it
is the Great Spirit. I am just one of the messengers like you are and I am very
thankful for your message. Because you have received it, you must give it to me.
It gives me some encouragement."
THOMAS ONE WOLF also said: "I wanted to tell your people that I will be
doing a very special ceremony for Master and all of you that walk and honor Her.
And I will dedicate this ceremony to Her and Her walk; not only that but also
from whence She comes, to the people of Au Lac and to the people of the Eastern
Dragon, all of them will be included in this Inipi way. I hope and pray that
this will make a resounding bell of peace ring, that will strike the times
because truly it is a thunder voice that will carry the message and I can only
do my part in the most sacred way I know. So our love in our hearts is with all
of you. You are very very special. Grandfather (he points to heaven) doesn't
make mistakes. Aho!"
MASTER: "It's very very special. Indian people have preserved this kind of
sacred knowledge since thousands of years, I guess, and have passed it on
generation after generation. It has never been diluted or polluted by the
so-called civilization as we have it now. So their tradition is one of the
oldest, the most preserved. Their tradition is the purest. I am very happy to
get to know the Chief. It is very difficult to know the real one! So thank you
for taking the time to come with us and bless the people and this land. It is
very good of you."
Sharing Master's Love At The
World Vision Conference:
Learning From The Prophecies
Of The Native Americans

Over the years, Thomas One Wolf's organization has stayed in touch with us, but
we have never met up again until just a couple months ago. At the global
conference of the United Religions Initiative at Stanford University in Palo
Alto, California. Surprisingly, as soon as we walked in, we saw Thomas One Wolf
and his wife Sherri.
It was a joyous reunion and we were all very surprised to see each other. Thomas
and Sherri told us of their work with the United Religions Initiative. They had
just been designated as the leaders of the Southwest regional division of this
world body which had an official charter to become a Non Governmental
Organization (NGO) of the United Nations. This would become a worldwide
organization similar to the United Nations, but made up of the world religions.
They had been formed on the 50th anniversary of the signing of the United
Nations charter and now they have regional offices around the world. The
involvement of the Native Americans in this organization became an important
fulfillment of Indian prophecy as we would later learn.
Thomas and Sherri told us that he and his 98 year old grandfather were going to
hold a "World Vision Conference" in New Mexico which would bring the
elders from some of the largest tribes together with many religious leaders from
around the world. They said they had just spoken to Master recently and
personally invited Her to speak. Of course, Master's arrangement brought us all
together for perfect timing. The World Vision Conference, we believe, was
Master's way to help plant seeds for blessings to spread to the Native
Americans.
A couple of days following the United Religions Conference, Master sent special
instructions to organize a group of people to attend the World Vision Conference
in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Not certain that Her schedule would permit Her to
speak at the event, She at least wanted to make sure that She had
representatives who would bring Her respect, love and sincere compassion to the
Native American people. She said that She felt they had endured a lot of
hardship over the years and wanted to bring them some comfort. Disciples and
Western contact people came from all corners of the US - California, New York,
Georgia, Arizona, Alabama, Colorado, Texas and Missouri, representing Master at
this moving event.
Thomas had told us that one of the purposes of the conference, was to unite
elders of the largest Indian tribes and representatives of many spiritual paths
so that he could share a vision he was given 14 years ago. Many of the native
tribes have been told in their inner visions and dreams that they should share
their prophecies and visions with all the races of humankind. There is a
striking similarity between many of the native prophecies and Master's
teachings. They speak of how we have forgotten to respect our Earth Mother
(Mother Nature) and because we have not honored the earth, the resulting
retribution is severe weather, many floods and fires and a dramatic shortage in
the food and water supply.
They have been told that we must come together not as the Native race of the red
people, but as one human race - white, black, yellow and red - under one Great
Spirit (God) in communion with the earth (Mother Nature). We have forgotten our
native ways and forsaken them in the name of progress and because of it, the
earth is now toxic and polluted and it must cleanse itself, with or without
humankind. If all the races of humankind come back together in the name of
honoring each other and Mother Earth, the world will unite in a new era of
peace. If we somehow forget this mission, many thousands of people will suffer
and the human race could even disappear.
As disciples of Master, we understood this message very clearly as many of us
have been working in disaster relief for many years. One of the tribal elders
said that the world would begin to rapidly change after their message was sent
across the waters. There, it would touch the ears of someone who speaks the same
Truth, from the One Heart and the One religion. We were convinced he was
speaking of Master.
Before attending the conference, Thomas invited us to come to a special prayer
ceremony called a Sweat at his land north of Albuquerque. He owns 4,000 acres of
land near Taos, New Mexico. This is a special region of the Southwestern United
States known for its spiritual atmosphere as in ancient legends it is said to be
the site of where the first humans dwelled. It is in what is known as the Four
Corners region, which is the holy land of many Native American tribes. Different
tribes do these ceremonies in different ways, but in Thomas' tribal tradition,
people enter into a dome-shaped tent called an Inipi and sit in a circle around
a pit in which is placed heated stones. The tribal spiritual leader then
sprinkles herbs and pours water over the stones and around the circle each
person speaks their prayers and hopes for the world. It is very hot inside (thus
why it is called a "sweat"), but it is a symbolic purification ritual
to cleanse the body and mind of toxins.
When Thomas and Sherri met Master many years ago, he explained the sacred
purpose of the Inipi and predicted that one day we would visit his land to sit
in spiritual ceremony. This day happened when our disciples came together in
prayer in the Inipi lodge with Thomas. It was a very moving moment as each
person went around the circle and prayed for the world, for the spiritual
progress of humankind and for a return to our highest nature.
It was a wonderful time for all disciples to come together as a family and share
our love and respect with the tribal elders in this way. It really felt like
meeting up with long lost brothers and sisters.
We returned to Albuquerque the next day and prepared for the World Vision
Conference. The Conference itself was a full day of spiritual discourse from
many different traditions. There were Christian speakers, a Kundalini Yoga
Master, a Lama of Tibetan Buddhism, a spiritual author and teacher, and elders
from several native tribes: the Cree, the Navajo, the Hopi, the Taos Pueblo
people, the Tewa, and the Saquamish. Even though Master did not come, Her
presence was very much there and the presence of our disciples was very much
appreciated in the event. Several other gurus and teachers could also not attend
and instead sent a message to be read on their behalf. Our disciples stood up as
a group in a semi-circle at the front of the room holding hands while one
disciple shared the message Master had asked us to give:
She had asked that we come on Her behalf to give Her deep respect and love to
the Native American people and to bring a message of Hope for the future that we
may heal the wounds of the past and keep an eye toward a brighter future for all
of us together.
We said that Master had taught us to not only pray and speak our philosophy and
truth, but to also act upon it by effecting positive change in the world around
us. In this spirit of brotherhood, we had come from around the nation to share
our dreams for a better tomorrow. We ended by having one of the disciples
reading the following quote by Master of Her dream for the future.
I have a dream. I dream that the whole world becomes peaceful, that everyone
becomes God. I dream that all the killing will stop, that all the children will
walk in peace and harmony. I dream that all the nations will shake hands,
protect each other, and help each other. I dream that our beautiful planet will
not be destroyed by some crazy atom bomb; a planet that has taken billions,
trillions of years to create in beauty and love. Yes, that is my dream.
Many people were very touched and came up to us after the event wanting to know
more about Master and Her teachings.
It was a very loving event and we each were deeply affected. It was a very
special time to bring together our Western disciples in a place where we could
actually spend some time getting to know one another. We played musical cars on
the way up and returning from Thomas' land and this gave us time to laugh and
share our stories and spiritual struggles. We had large group meals together,
group meditation morning and evening and small interludes where we could sit and
be quiet with each other. And we know Master was there with us, even though Her
physical body was not there. One sister verified this by a dream she had the
first morning she was there. In her dream while she was meditating with other
initiates who came to this conference, Master came embraced them, and thanked
them for coming there, filling them with light and blessings.
Thank You, Master, for this wonderful opportunity to reach out to our brothers
and sisters in need. The Native people are afraid, and we would like to have
more ways to relieve their suffering, if possible. They are having a lot of
problems growing their crops this year and they may be facing wide-scale hunger
on the reservations. We are sure that there is no accident that we were sent at
the time Master arranged. With Master's blessings, I'm sure our paths will cross
again.

"I have just prayed for all of you. I prayed to God above and to our Earth
Mother for all of you. I pray all the time for this earth and for all the
people. My prayers are strong for all people, I don't just pray for my own
Indian people.
Every day I pray for our Mother Earth, and for all the people in the whole
world, not just for the Indian people, because I know we are all the children of
the Mother Earth. It doesn't matter what color your skin is or what your
religion is, we are all the children of the Mother Earth.
We all have the same Father and we all have the same Mother, the Earth Mother.
That means we are all in the same family. But we don't act like one family and
we don't listen to our Mother Earth.
Instead of loving, respecting, and listening to our Mother Earth, and loving,
respecting, and listening to each other, we argue, fight, and hurt each other,
and we hurt the Mother Earth.
In the old ways, we had respect for Mother Earth, we listened to her. We did
prayers and ceremonies and ask her if we could take something from her. When we
needed water from her stream we asked first and then prayed our thanks. We
treated her with great love and respect because she is our mother and from her
all comes to us.
In these times most people don't show Mother Earth respect, and they don't show
other people respect. Now we will all have to live with that. This is so. There
is no way around it now. It is too late to stop the Mother who has to cleanse
herself from all our ways of no respect.
My son knows and has a message to tell you now, what you must do if you are to
survive what our Mother Earth has to do now. I pray you will listen to his words
and know he speaks the truth of our Grandfather and our Earth Mother.
I love every one of you!!!! I pray for you every day."

prayer that the family of the One will come together.
The old ones gave me a reason to walk on. As my own Chief Seattle said "I
mourn not." I don't see a speech when I look at his world. I see it as a
vision, as a fulfillment. I have witnessed his vision.
Fourteen years ago, I was given one. I didn't know what it meant. All I knew is
what I had seen. I waited all these years. My father and I were at a Congress of
Native American people, and he said that it was time.
There is only one thing I conclude from this vision. I pray you see the Hope in
this vision and maybe apply some serious want to know. Many will be troubled by
it, I pray that you see the Hope.
In Grandfather's (God's) greatest Plan, Hes doesn't trust us with Hiers Plan.
Hes won't let us see the other side because we would go there.
People who came here were the people of progress. To these days the Wisdom
Keepers kept all that, holding on to it. Then came the dark clouds - greed,
power, wealth. These were the sorrowful days of accomplishment. Greed, power and
wealth were the same horses ridden by the progress man. I feared it would be the
Indians that would be terminated, but the old ones assured me it would return on
themselves.
The children are the heirs of the armor. We leave to our children a garden of
poison and armor. I carry a vision, it isn't a warning but a Hope; a dream of
Hope is easily extinguished. I could read volumes of devastation done by man.
The vision that has come is that of Hope and the good shall know these results.
Great Spirit used this vessel to reveal a vision. In the distance, I see fires
burning. I see great sun rays, great thunder and dark places. There is a child
in the mist. She comes as a spark of Hope. The day of the Spirit Man has come.
No fear, no joy, just a place of peaceful acceptance, a child with Hope.
In 1999, you the messengers will carry the message for Hope of one pure breath
to the third door. In the year 2000 we will open the final door.
There is another great inevitability. Mother Earth is changing -- Great waves,
fires, rain, flood waters, tornadoes, et cetera. Is anyone listening?
Over-population, pollution.
There is Hope, small but Hope. The great fires, storms of death will occur. The
child is the final Hope for change.
Choose Good, Do Good, Walk Your Talk
Seek man's power and wealth and you will lose it. Money and power shall be used
for good; if not, Hope dies.
Cancer is too far to heal in the house of power; they will consume each other.
The day of the Spirit Man has come. The time of choice is here. Good or darkness
for everyone.
I apologize to the young under 30 years old to have taken a part in destroying
your planet and your future.
Go and tell the world that Good has come, sing the song of Hope. It's your
choice. What can we do? It'll be known to you in good time. Joy, peace and Hope
live on the road of Good. Some come to create, some come to help, all must come.
Choosing Good and walking your talk will bring you peace.
If you use your gift for self gain, you'll know no peace, no joy and sleepless
nights. A wave is coming to all the shores of Mother Earth.
My people told me many stories about the beginning of life. Which one is the
right one? My grandfather told me "All of them." In the words of Chief
Seattle, "We may be brothers after all and we shall see."
We have got to become the good united tribe of the two-legged. If we don't, we
will know the storms I have seen.
My judgment ends with how many legs you have.
I love you, everyone of you with all that I am and all I will ever be. I am
incapable of doing anything but loving you. It is so, it is as it should be.

In this world, many of our brothers and sisters have forgotten their original
duties, forgotten their Buddha nature, the quality of God. Instead, they have
done many harmful things to the world, to the universe. If everyone were doing
so, and doing nothing to counter balance, our world would be in great upheaval.
Many mishaps have already happened, but more disastrous ones are yet to come.
Until now, these calamities are affecting mostly one country or part of a
country. Should everyone keep on disregarding spiritual practice as before and
doing bad deeds instead, neglecting other people's lives and feelings, and
ignoring human rights, greater disasters will happen, even affecting the whole
globe. Without using miracle powers, we can see into the future; it is cause and
effect.
Many of the so-called clairvoyants and prophets anticipated that many grave
disasters would simultaneously happen in the world. In different countries and
at different periods of time, different people have had the same vision. Those
people could really see into the future, they were not just remarking casually.
However, perhaps we are practicing well. Our practitioners are in many
countries, setting up big group meditation centers. Grouped together, our power
is very strong. So, I think the world can still be saved. If we sincerely pray
for something together, or practice together, we can generate an enormous
atmosphere of peace, and it will have a great effect.
We can change our world. We can save our world, instead of killing others for
our own survival. We should rebuild our way of life -- live a moral life, be a
vegetarian, cultivate ourself mentally and physically; and there will be
immediate results. Our world will be changed at once! If everyone is planting
trees instead of cutting them down, then we would be saved very soon. Within ten
years, the world would never be the same, without any problem. Truly there is
Hope, but only with the cooperation of everyone.
Seek The Kingdom Of God First

In this age of much trouble and disaster we also have great Hope because God has
ordained many saints to come to our world. And the messages are almost identical
- that is, we should seek the Kingdom of God first, then everything else will
fall into place.
Normally we try to take care of the worldly problems first. We take things into
our hands, we try to run the universe. But we always feel very disappointed
because even the best leaders in the political field can only satisfy people
temporarily, and bring them some kind of material comfort. We can not take care
of the whole world by just our political skill or any other ability, and that's
the problem. It doesn't matter how good our intention may be. It is because we
have to first seek the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God means this supreme power within us. We have connection with
it, that's why it is said God made man in Hiers own image. Image doesn't mean
our profile, our body or our way of life. It is the image of the invisible,
universal power that we are made of.
Bearers Of Light

So you see, the advancement of our world has been brought about by the diligent
effort of those so-called practitioners, the bearers of light in this world -
the yogis, the realized ones, the mahatmas, the masters. Those greater ones are
more beneficial, are working in a greater dimension. But even the so-called less
high level yogis, practitioners, bearers of light, are also making their
contribution to the whole atmospheric change in our world today. If these
practitioners of light, bearers of light, did not exist and had not been
existing throughout the centuries, then our world would not have come to this
condition as it is now. So we are grateful to science and its discoveries for
all our comforts and all the advanced apparatus. But we truly forget what is the
'behind' benefactor, the invisible one, which brought about this condition.
If these so-called practitioners or bearers of light were absent from our world
environment, then the world would become like hell. There would be no symbol of
virtue, no examples of higher living, no light. It would be like a countryside
without any electricity, all dark, like in the olden days. Therefore, what makes
our world different from hell is that we still have light-bearers; and what
makes our world different from heaven is that the light-bearers, the virtuous
people are fewer in number. That's what makes all the difference.

Someone who is called enlightened is someone who can go at will to these kinds
of light planes, light worlds of existence. At least my disciples can be called
enlightened, because they experience the light. "En-light-en-ed"
implies you must have the light. The light is within you. In the Christian
Bible, it is said: Take heed that the light in you should not become darkness.
It also says: If your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light. It
always mentions the light. Also, it mentions many kinds of Godly sounds, like
the sound of thunder, the sound of many waters, the sound of the heavenly
trumpet, the harp, and all these kinds of things.

we do not listen to this gentle advice, then Hes may push a little harder until
Hes pushes very hard. So if we are not pushed so hard by God, then please don't

offers inside.

Purify The World With A Holy Meditative Vibration

When we meditate, or we remember God, our thoughts are holy, pure and
unconditional, so we don't create anything bad, only holy vibrations and
powerful blessings. So when these powerful blessings and thought power are
generated around us and within our environment, then it's raised up. Then other
people, who are holy and practicing, also generate the same thought, same
blessing, same power. And like attracts like, and these attracting each other
make it become a very powerful force which defeats all the evil, negative
influence in this world. That's how the world will become purified and improved
day by day. That's how we help the world without having to do charity work even,
without having to go out and preach.
Hope In The Hopi Prophecy

It was evening when Martin Gashweonoma, the Hopi Prophecy Keeper, and Emory
Holmes, a Hopi Medicine Man took the stage to speak to us. They had bright,
round faces and wore their hair in the traditional fashion, their bangs forming
a window for viewing the world. I had heard about the Hopi Prophecy and was
looking forward to hearing their speech.
The Hopi are an ancient race of people living in the dry, barren plains of
Northeastern Arizona in very much the same manner as their ancestors thousands
of years ago. Their prophecies and teachings have been transmitted orally, from
generation to generation, for thousands of years. They also have in their
possession two stone tablets, which, according to their teachings, were passed
down to them by the Creator at the beginning of this age. Martin Gashweonoma
used to be the caretaker of these ancient tablets.
Other tribes, scientists and academics hold the Hopi in high regard for their
worldview, medical knowledge, arts and crafts and ancient spiritual practices,
which they continue to maintain. Their villages are regarded as the oldest,
continuously occupied settlements in the North American continent. They are an
agrarian society that grows beans, corn, cotton and squash as their primary
crops, causing modern scientists to marvel at how the Hopi have managed to grow
so much out of such a dry, unforgiving terrain. The Hopi would tell you that
their ability to derive abundance in this harsh land is directly related to
their co-creative relationship with the unseen forces that hold nature in
balance. And their age-old teachings indicate that this vital communion will
play a key roll in the survival of the human race.
A Purification Time
Approaching
Martin and Emory reached the podium and stared out at us with pained expressions
on their faces. I sensed the rumblings of fear in their guts and their sense of
futility regarding the impact of the speech they were about to give. Martin
began to speak in his native Hopi tongue, with Emory translatting. "We've
been going around from place to place, doing speaking engagements, trying to let
people know, trying to get them to understand. And people are not listening to
what we are trying to say...."
As I listened, I thought it was no wonder that people had a hard time listening
to their message. They spoke of a purification time approaching very rapidly
which would bring with it massive earth changes, leaving only a handful of
people alive. They advised us to store non-perishables as starvation was
imminent and it would be the only way we could survive. They told us to pray at
home, because in this way, Mother Earth might be more lenient with us. They
indicated we needed to come together as one people. And they held out Hope that
someone with a pure heart would come to save us in some way.
The predictions in the Hopi Prophecies span the time from the beginning of this
age to the end, with a vast portion of the predictions focusing on the
end-times. The frequency of occurrences of end-time-related predictions has
increased exponentially in the past 90 years, bringing us into the final stages,
the time of purification. It is during this period where it is imperative for us
to recognize the futility of war and recognize all races and all colors are our
brothers and sisters. It is also a time to bring the misuse of the technology
and industrialization back into balance with nature and the earth. If we don't
do this ourselves, Martin warns us that Mother Earth will do it for us.
"Mother Earth will survive with or without the two-leggeds (humans).
"When the elders spoke of these teachings, they said someone from across
the waters will hear about the teachings. Then this One will come to speak to us
on our land and speak the same things, the same knowledge. Then we'll know that
what the elders have spoken is the Truth."
Of course when we all heard this part, we thought for certain it must be Master
Ching Hai they were talking about, for Her name, Ching Hai, means Pure Ocean.
And not only does She warn us of the increasing frequency of natural disasters
as well, but also suggests what to do.
"The future is in our hands. So you make it beautiful or you make it worse.
It's up to you." "If most of the people in this world awakened to a
higher level of consciousness, believing in the Kingdom of God within
themselves, believing that they have the almighty power within themselves,
believing that if we are positive, if we respect beauty, truth and morality, our
world will become better and better and become a paradise." ~ Supreme
Master Ching Hai ~
Four Ages
The Hopi speak of four ages through which man has evolved. In each age, people
started in perfect balance with the earth, the Creator and each other. But by
the end of each age, they had turned away from nature laws and spiritual
principles. The first age was destroyed by earthquakes, the second by an ice
age, and the third by a flood. We are now approaching the end of yet another age
with the earth out of balance and its people in disregard of spiritual
principles.
Each of these past three ages seems to have been trial runs for humans to work
through what they needed to learn. This current age, the fourth age, is the
final phase. According to the Hopi, the highest and greatest powers that we have
will be released to us in this new age, which they refer to as the age of the
human.
Four Colors Of People And
Four Guardianships
At the Continental Indigenous Congress in 1986, Lee Brown, a Native American
spiritual leader, explained how the Hopi came to be in possession of these
tablets and the assignment that went along with them.
At the beginning of this age, the Creator separated the people into four colors
and gave each race a primary teaching. At the end of this age, these four races
are to come back together and share their teachings. "And when you come
back together with each other, you will share these so that you can live and
have peace on Earth, and a great civilization will come about."
"Hes gave each race two stone tablets and warned them not to cast them on
the earth because not only would human beings have a hard time but almost all
the Earth itself would die. "So Hes gave each of us a responsibility and we
call that the Guardianship. To the Indian people, the red people, Hes gave the
Guardianship of the earth. We were to learn during this cycle of time the
teachings of the earth, the plants that grow from the earth, the foods that you
can eat, and the herbs that are healing so that when we came back together with
the other brothers and sisters we could share this knowledge with them.
Something good was to happen on the earth.
"To the South, Hes gave the yellow race of people the Guardianship of the
wind. They were to learn about the sky and breathing and how to take that within
ourselves for spiritual advancement. They were to share that with everyone at
this time.
"To the West, Hes gave the black race of people the Guardianship of the
water. They were to learn the teachings of the water, which is the chief of the
elements, being the most humble and the most powerful.
"To the North, Hes gave the white race of people the Guardianship of the
fire. If you look at the center of many of the things they do, you will find the
fire. The fire consumes, and also moves. This is why it was the white brothers
and sisters who began to move upon the face of the Earth and reunite us as a
human family."
The Hopi keep their tablets on their reservation where they have been reciting
these teachings to their people for thousands of years. However, it has only
been during the 20th century that the existence and the location of the other
tablets has been verified. The tablets for the black race are kept at the base
of Mt. Kenya by the Kukuyu Tribe. The Tibetans keep the stone tablets for the
yellow race. For the white people, the Hopi believe their tablets are in
Switzerland. It was interesting to note that each of these people happen to be
people who live in the mountains.
Lee Brown explained that at one point Western scientists approached them to
determine the age of the tablets: "The scientists came to the Hopis and
they said, 'We want to take a piece of the stone tablets.' They said, 'We want
to take the stone tablets to a scientific laboratory to determine how old they
are.' The Hopis said, 'We know how old they are.' Well, the scientists said, 'We
want to confirm it.' Well, the Hopis let them take a little piece, and they
checked by the carbon dating method. They found these tablets were at least
10,000 years old, maybe 50,000. So when I say, 'Thousands of years ago, there
were Native people that spoke of these things,' that's exactly what I mean. They
told their children and thousands of years ago, their children grew up and told
their children, and then their children grew up and told their children. And
they spoke about the people that will live in this time."
Three Shakings
Of End-times And Their Opportunities For Peace
The biggest problem facing us today is that the various peoples of the Earth
have not come together, recognizing each other as kin. We continue to fight and
attempt to dominate the Earth. Because of this, we have entered into what the
Hopi refer to as the end-times, a time of three great shakings designed to shake
us to our senses. Many of the prophecies relate these end-times and the time of
purification. The first two shakings correlate with the two world wars, and each
was followed by an opportunity to bring peace. But the elders knew that peace
would not come on the Earth until the circle of humanity was complete, until all
the four colors sat in the circle, recognized each other as brothers and
sisters, and shared the wisdom of their Guardianships. Only then peace would
come on Earth.
So when the League of Nations was formed after World War I and again when the
United Nations was formed after World War II, the Hopi along with other
indigenous peoples knocked at the doors of these institutions requesting
admittance. But, they were turned away, thus ensuring that peace would not
prevail.
The prophecies state that if peace were not found after the second shaking, time
would speed up. Men would turn themselves into women and women would turn
themselves into men. The eagle would go to the moon. Grandchildren would have no
time for their grandparents and parents would have no time for their children.
But the sign indicating that the third great shaking was upon us, the
culmination of the end-times, would be when people went to live in the sky. This
sign would indicate that the time for purification had come.
We Are Approaching The Final Shaking
So now, we are approaching the final shaking. At this time the Purifier will
appear from the East. When the tablets were passed down at the beginning of this
age, there were two brothers. The older brother went off to the sun. When he
reached the place where the sun rose, he was to touch his head down to the
ground and wait until a time of crisis. Then he would be called back by his
younger brother. He is known as the Purifier, the One who possesses the
knowledge to help us to understand how to come together as one and to defeat the
ones who are going to come from the West bringing about World War III. Their
prophecies do state that it will only take this One being to turn everything
around. "It will take only the One with the true heart and the humble
way."
Do Your Prayers At Home
Lee Brown in his speech said, "If we could stop the racial and religious
disharmony, we would not have to go through this third shaking. The elders say
the chance of that is pretty slim. It seems to me like it's pretty slim, too.
But they say what we can do is we can "cushion" it. The word we use is
"cushion". We can cushion it so it won't be quite as bad. How do we do
this? We do this by sharing the teaching that will reunite us.
Dan Evehema, one of the Hopi elders who addressed the United Nations in 1992,
concurs that most Hopi expect the transition to the next age to be a rough one.
However, the degree of upheaval will be determined by the degree of inequity
among the peoples of the world and the balance of nature. Human beings may still
lessen the violence by correcting their treatment of nature and fellow human
beings.
Meanwhile, Martin admonishes us to pray. "In order to fix these things, we
need to get together in our heads and in our minds, through our prayers. So
don't forget to do your prayers at home so we will be able to eliminate some of
these disasters which are taking place. Through our prayers we may help Mother
Nature to have leniency on us. We as people are not perfect in many ways - we
have done wrong at some time in our lives. But we have to keep praying."
In another speech Martin gave, he stated: "The earthquakes are eminent, but
there is no real date as to when these will take place. That big earthquake that
was supposed to hit California had been altered, in a way, by the Tibetans who
had heard about that. They did a lot of prayers there and they helped in
altering the intensity of the earthquake that took place in California."
This was an interesting quote, because I know that the Dalai Lama, the Pope and
Master were all in Northern California in the days and weeks prior to the 1989
earthquake. In Master's case the earthquake occurred twenty minutes after Her
flight departed.
As Microcosms, We are All God
The Hopi believe that they are a microcosm of the world and that the level of
disharmony within their community reflects the disharmony within the Earth and
the Universe as a whole. Martin states: "Even the elders went astray from
these these teachings. We have now created chaos." "I am going to tell
you that from earlier times to now, we have done away with our intentions, with
what we needed to do and to have done. Now we don't love each other anymore. We
don't care about the next door neighbor."
One of the ways for a microcosm to bring about change within the Greater whole,
the macrocosm, is to change the microcosm. This follows the principle of
holography: the whole is contained within the part. We can change the Earth if
we can manage to rebalance our communities. And we, also are microcosms,
holograms of the Earth both as individuals and as the community of practicioners
of the Quan Yin Method. We can change events on Earth by purifying ourselves.
The more we purify ourselves through meditation, through forgiving others who
have hurt us, by loving those who do not love us, and by seeing the God in all
of nature, the more impact we will have on the planet .
People of the Light
Lee Brown stated: "The Hopi in their prophecies say there will be a
religion that comes here. Maybe it will be a true religion and bring unity, or
maybe it will not be true and not bring unity. If it does not bring unity, a
second religion will come, and the people of this religion are known in the Hopi
language as the 'people of light or glory'. We've been waiting for these people
for a long time. They say they will bring a teaching that will unite the
Earth."
Hearing and studying the message of the Hopi Prophecy has caused a huge shift in
my values and my outlook. I recognize that this time of purification is a
necessary preparation for both humanity and the Earth to ascend to the next
level, to the age of the Earth human. My mediations have taken on new meaning as
I pray with them that I, as a microcosm representing the disharmony of the
whole, can forgive all those who have wronged me and see them as my brethren. I
pray that my actions will help bring the Earth back in balance instead of taking
it farther out of balance. I pray that we, the two-leggeds, will open our hearts
to see the sacredness in all things, and to know that we are all one. Most
importantly, I pray that people around the world will recognize that they each
hold within them the pure heart that can save us all. I believe what is said in
Hopi prophecy "do our prayers at home" means to meditate in God's
name, and in this way, we can raise the vibration not only of ourselves, but of
the whole planet.
The Spirit Of Sharing

This world doesn't belong to us. It does, but many people don't share. They
don't like to share. Actually this world belongs to everyone including the
animals. That's why we follow the vegetarian policy. This world came into
existence due to the force of the thinking power of all the beings that exist on
this planet . We wanted this place, so it exists, including the animals. But
when we came into this world, we thought it belonged to us. Everyone thought it
belonged to them. Therefore, we started to get rid of the others - the red, the
black, the yellow and whatever. The red wanted to get rid of the white. The
white got rid of the black, et cetera. Then the black, white and yellow got rid
of the animals, et cetera. We have forgotten that we are co-owners, not the sole
owners of this world.
That is why we should not kill animals, we should not eat them. Of course,
especially, we should not kill any other human beings. But in the name of
politics, national love or religion, sometimes, we kill. We justify our killing
with many glorious excuses. Actually, this is not the right thing, because we
kill today and then the next life we'll be killed.
Therefore, war always continues within our world. Then we always wonder
"why." There is nothing to wonder. When we sow something, we reap the
fruit thereof. Even the Bible says so: As you sow, so shall you reap. For those
of us who have not suffered effects under war or any other conflicts, that means
we have not sown the seed of violence. So if we continue to keep it that way,
even if we do not practice any meditation, even if we do not worship God - I
mean officially, registered-wise -- then we will be born again as safe, secure,
healthy human beings. Because we do not have the seed of damage, of war, of
violence. If we can remind each other not to kill animals, then of course how
could we kill human beings, and war will eliminate itself from the root.
A Spaceship In The Universal Body

Our planet is a very beautiful, 'spaceship'. We can say 'spaceship,' which
carries a lot of sentient beings in mid air and circles around. Our planet gives
us a lot of comfort and joy, gives us a lot of treasures, and sustains our lives
through many ways and means. But then we also have a little duty towards our
Mother Earth, to help her to remain in such a powerful position so that she may
be able to help us.
Everything we do affects everyone in this world and the next. Every religion
mentions to us that all things, all beings are one in essence. Just like our
body has many parts. If our hands hurt, it affects our whole body also. Just
because the universal body is so great, and we the many beings in this great
body cannot understand, cannot see the whole universal body, so we may not
believe that our actions concern any other beings. Should we develop the kind of
Celestial Eye, Wisdom Eye, we would see this for ourselves that we are indeed
connected with all beings; and then we would be very careful about what we do.

Wars and natural disaster are not always caused by geographical complications,
but generated from the atmosphere of the world. When human beings treat each
other unjustly and with hostility, an irritating and vicious warlike ambience is
generated, and from this many disasters and wars are created.

God that we should go back to our original qualities of Truth, virtue and
beauty, instead of being intoxicated in negativity. We human beings have two
kinds of power, one is positive, the other negative. The positive one gives us
and others comfort and bliss. This is the quality we should always maintain and
develop further. If we were to be stuck in the negative sphere, the world would
become more and more chaotic.

Unique Blend Of Oriental Style And Spiritual Mysticism

The Taipei International Jewelry Exhibition formally opened yesterday. Besides
presenting exhibits by jewelers and suppliers who are regular participants, this
year's exhibition was outstanding with some exceptional designs. Many jewelry
items created by Supreme Master Ching Hai, who is known to have a large
following worldwide, were displayed at the exhibition. Who She is and Her
designs caught the attentions of many visitors.
As one approached the booth of S.M. Celestial Co., Ltd, one could view
videotaped narration of many stories about the Supreme Master from over the
years. For most attendees, this was the first chance they had had to appreciate
Master's works, which She began designing with a unique style in 1994. The
exhibition also showcased Her latest masterpieces that were made available to
the public this year.
Three jewelry series designed by Master Ching Hai were selected to be displayed
in this year's exhibition. The Rebirth series, featuring a spectrum of colors
from materials such as jade and rubies set in crescent and star-shaped gold
fashion accessories, speak of an Oriental style with a blend of spiritual
mysticism. These resplendent ornamental items are reminiscent of the nobility
and elegance of the European royal families.
While meeting the needs of the adults, Master also designed several items for
the younger generation. The E.T. series are extraterrestrial fantasies come true
in the real world of jewelry. The design of a saucer-shaped UFO that transports
extraterrestrials through outer space has risen above the mere ornamental
purpose of jewelry.
The Heavenly Dragon Royal Tableware is a series that collectors would not want
to miss. As the name implies, the dragon is the theme of this set of tableware
featuring exquisite, intricate relief designs of these celestial figures
meticulously fashioned out of pure gold by master craftsmen. Its dazzling
radiance and the imposing appearance of traditional Chinese dragons together
make the set of tableware an exceptional creation.
