[Mexico City] Fellow practitioners were invited by the director of a UFO magazine for a special interview on his radio program. This program is aired on the most listened radio station in the country. This station not only broadcasts throughout all of Mexico, but also all the way to the U.S.A. and Argentina. Taking this opportunity to reach audiences all over the American continents, fellow practitioners made a point of emphasizing the importance of a vegetarian diet to purify the body so that the soul can be more easily elevated. They explained that practicing the right method will speed up our progress in spiritual practice, and the differences between practicing

without a real enlightened master. They gave an introduction to the benefits of practicing the Quan Yin Method and the Convenient Method of meditations. That same night, even before the program ended, the Mexico Center started to receive an unexpected number of calls from people interested in Master's teachings. Since then everyday they have received phone calls from people searching for the Truth, and willing to be vegetarian for the rest of their lives. They are truly ready for spiritual practice. A tide to practice spiritually was inspired by the program. Due to a great number of phone calls from people who were interested in more information about spiritual practice, the program was extended in length. Now the director of the "UFO Contact" magazine has invited fellow practitioners for a second interview on his program.

Report From England Master's Incredible Love Melts People's Hearts

(Birmingham) In the Health and Harmony Exhibition in Birmingham in mid- October, because of Master's blessings and the sincerity of the participants in searching for the Truth, the atmosphere of the exhibition was amiable and harmonious. Fellow practitioners actively distributed sample booklets and News magazines, and showed Master's videotape lectures continuously. As well, they explained in detail the meaning of meditation and answered related questions. The guests who were concerned about spiritual practice all had a most rewarding experience. Many people had registered to receive the News magazine. The application forms for the Convenient Method were all used up. A young man was much surprised to find that our sample booklets and News magazines were completely free of charge. Even to learn the Convenient Method and to take initiation was absolutely free. He was deeply impressed. A lady who had been receiving and reading the News magazines for some time said emotionally, "Whenever something upsetting happens to me, Master's News magazines would arrive just in time to help." Upon talking to fellow practitioners, a man was most delighted in knowing that everyone who practiced the Quan Yin Method all had experiences of enlightenment similar to those recorded in the scriptures. He had been a vegetarian for years and had been yearning for the ultimate method. Now, he was fortunate enough to know a Master and his wish was satisfied. He also invited fellow practitioners to explain the benefits of meditation to his family. He felt that Master's teachings were very logical, convincing him in a very natural way. During the exhibition, fellow practitioners expanded their vision by doing Master's work. They also witnessed Master's incredible power of love in melting people's hearts. We met a gentleman whom we had met before at another spiritual exhibition. Since then, his argumentative attitude had changed and he treated fellow practitioners in a humble and amiable manner. Whenever his booth was not busy he'd came over to watch Master's videos.

He was able to feel Master's peaceful blessings and said, with deep sincerity, "The atmosphere here is so beautiful, just like in heaven." There was another participant in the exhibition who had been receiving the News magazine for a long time. Our video display was right opposite his booth, and after watching Master's lecture videotapes for days, his face radiated joy and he quickly applied for initation. Fellow practitioners also utilized various opportunities to exchange ideas with other spiritual groups and introduced the message of the Quan Yin Method to them. They exchanged addresses with fellow practitioners, hoping that they would be able to see Master the next time She comes to England,  so that they could share the boundless magnetic field of a living master. At the conclusion of the exhibition, fellow practitioners bade good-bye to these newly acquird friends. We felt that everything had been arranged and taken care of by Master. All those who were yearning for th Truth and liberation will certainly meet each other again in the big Quan Yin family.

[Texas] The first annual Whole Life Exposition in Austin in which over ten thousand people attended was a great success. During the days of the exhibition, Austin was blessed by unseasonably cool weather and rain. The Expo was held in Palmer Auditorium, situated across from Lake Austin. The lake meanders through the city, giving a wonderful view of the calm Austin skyline. Fellow practitioners were extremely glad to share Master's teachings and love with more people with affinity. Austin has always been known as a spiritual city, evident by the number of people that visited our booth. Not only was our booth situated in a very good location, but we also had a professional exhibiting stand which we borrowed and decorated elegantly and gracefully to display Master's publications. Our booth was quite outstanding compared to all the rest. The three-day exhibition was a success measured by the large number of people that attended, and the demand of sample booklets and News magazines that far exceeded the supply. As people stopped by they were attracted to Master's lectures on the TV. Some stayed many hours in front of TV to absorb Her words of wisdom. After a while, some even sat down to continue to watch. It was very touching to see their eyes glued to the TV, reluctant to move away. Even other exhibitors nodded their heads, complimented Master, and agreed that She is indeed a true Master. One astrologer came by and asked for more information about Master. Later he told us that She is indeed a living Master, destined to come here and teach sentient beings. Some Truth aspirants looked so sincere holding the sample booklets and News magazines. This showed us that they realized the rare opportunity of meeting a real Master, and that they cherished it from the bottom of their hearts. There were even many famous monks who came and took sample booklets and News magazines. It was interesting that they would pick up a picture of a beautifully dressed Master. The open-minded attitude of the local spiritual practitioners could be seen by their ability to recognize a  real Master -- by the inner wisdom rather than by the outer appearance. At the conclusion of this Expo, all the fellow practitioners were so glad that they had the opportunity to progress further in their spiritual practice. As they came out of the Auditorium, all the disciples said good-bye and departed to return to their own homes, happily realizing that they would be together very soon, as long as they had Master's work to do.

[Ottawa] As was said in a previous report, the feedback from the recent art exhibition has been ongoing. People have been sincerely asking to practice the Convenient Method of meditation. A Canadian woman who learned the Convenient Method said that she has studied spiritual matters for years, but did not get the key point until she read Master's book in which Master said that we should understand that we, ourselves are masters too; and that we and God are one. She became enlightened. Fellow practitioners in Ottawa always spreads Master's teachings with the attitude of learning lessons and the feeling that they are lucky for having learned the Quan Yin Method with Master. They would like to thank Her for giving them the opportunity to serve and grow in Her boundless love. In the meantime, the Ottawa Central Library was very happy to receive several of Master's poems on CDs such as "Vo Tu," "Traces Of The Previous Lives" and "The Path To The Love Legends". The videotapes of "Traces Of The Previous Lives" have been put in the library's catalog and have been shared with the local Au Lac people. (Jinan, China) A thousand year old tortoise can communicate and cooperate with a doctor to keep its mouth open and let the doctor remove a foreign object by endoscopic surgery. This story sounds like a fairy tale, but it is true. Recently, Monk Zhiyou of the Xuefeng Temple, Minhou, brought a thousand year old mountain tortoise, which was fify centimeters in length with cracks all over its shell, to the otolaryngology clinic of the Provincial People's Hospital in Fujian Province to seek help. The monk said that this thousand year old mountain tortoise had not eaten and drunk anything for a month, and in the past few days, it had spit blood and seemed to be dying. Seeing the  tortoise spitting blood, Doctor Jinmei Zhuang, who was one special national compensation, spontaneously felt a desire to protect wild animals. So she decided to give it a try. When the thousand year old tortoise heard that the doctor promised to try to save its life, it unexpectedly nodded its head and shed two rows of warm tears. The people present were all surprised by this action. Then the old mountain tortoise was put on the surgery table. When Doctor Zhuang asked it to stretch out its neck, it stretched out its neck right away; when Doctor Zhuang asked it to open its mouth, it opened it immediately. The doctors who were participating in the surgery were all amazed. They didn't expect that a wild animal could communicate with human beings like this. Since the tortoise's stomach was very complicated, Doctor Zhuang then tried to search for any foreign object that might be in there. After two hours, she finally removed a fishhook from its stomach. After the surgery, the old tortoise even nodded its head to Doctor Zhuang three times and happily crawled around the surgery table.

You came on your own accord. I didn't even know you before. I probably will not know you in the future. I mean physically. You have chosen the noble way that you will walk from now on. I wish you success in your endeavor -- that you keep your noble purpose and promise. That's all there is for yourself. Should you decide that you don't want to keep your promise or the noble way you chose, it's alright. No one will come and knock at your door, telephone you, and tell you what to do. Never ever. In fact, you must keep your own purity in order to come back to us again after today, because initiation doesn't gaurantee you lifelong membership of heaven. You are free to come to heaven with us

or free to go back. Anyhow, heavens are within ourselves. I only help you to rediscover them. So whether you call me master, friend, sister, whatever, it doesn't matter at all. Just tradition that when someone teaches something, we call them teacher. Just help each other. If we don't keep a tranquil life -- like everyday we drink so much, get drunk like this -- we can't even drive a car and can't even work, never mind concentrate. So no drinking, no intoxicants that make you cloud your mind. If you drink now and again a glass of wine, I will not kill you perhaps; but you'd better stay away. (Laughter) Why? Because you can't control yourself, that's all. Wine is not bad. It's you, it's we who

can't control one glass, another, and two, three. And next time, again and again. If you drink once in a while, you won't go to hell perhaps. But if you drink once again and you have not mastered yourself yet, then you'll drink again. You become addicted, that's the problem. It's not the drinking, it's the addiction that makes you degrade and makes the whole thing mess up your life. Therefore, we invite you to stay away from all these harmful effects -- pornography and all these things -- that cloud our clear thinking and clear mastership of our life. That's all. No precepts, don't say, "I am holier than thou." Nothing like that. Or "You have to do this, you have to do that, otherwise

you'll die." It's not true, you'll die anyhow. (Laughter) It's not true that if you don't do what I say, you'll die. It's not so. It's just whatever I tell you, it's for your own sake; for the quickest, the most effective way; the safest way for you to tap into the inner power, to realize your own greatness, realize after all that you are the master. You have to decide what to do. You choose the way you go. You choose to walk in love, beauty and virtues. That's your freedom. That is your freedom to choose to have reponsibility of your noble way of living. I am just here whenever you need me. If you come, I tell you what I know. That's all. Don't think I am your teacher or anything like that, because you

have to teach yourself. Everything I've told you, you perhaps know already, except the initiation, the inner transmission that I'll give you later. You have it. Just you forgot how to tap into that power. Therefore, we are weak. We don't have power. Whatever we pray doesn't come true. Whatever we want to do, we can't do it just because we forgot the greatest power within ourselves. We have to recover that. That's all there is. No fee, no charge, no membership, nothing -- now, ever or after. You never will hear from me that I ask one penny from you for anything I do for you. In fact, I am the one who gives all the time. And whatever you want to give, you give. If you don't, you don't. It's all

right. No problem. If you give, give to the poor, the needy, whether I am there or not there, whether I tell you or not tell you. That's how you help yourself. We have to practice. At the same time, we have to take care of this world. That's the way we do. We don't tell you to go to the Himalayas, follow me personally behind my back and do anything for me. No, no. You just have to awaken your own greatness and then use that to help yourself get out of the transmigration, get out of the ignorance, get out of this suffering, get out of this weakness, get out of this don't-know-nothing business and be a wise person. Be strong, courageous; do what you want; and tell your mind, tell the

million, billion cells in your body to do what you want. That's what I want to teach you -- to be a master of yourself, not to call me a master and then follow me everywhere like an idiot. It's not the way. Must be master of yourself. The cells in your body listen to what you say, listen to what you want. So you must train them from today to do what you want. If you want them to be vegetarian, they'll listen. If you want to walk a noble way, they will listen. If you want to meditate, they will listen. That's the way you train yourself. Be a master of your house. Up to now, we are the slaves of any influence from outside -- any dog, any cat. Anything can disturb us, can tell us what to do. We've lost

ourselves. We've lost our independence, our mastership. So from today, you have chosen to come back to your own power. That's all there is. I will show you how; and from today, you walk the way you choose. You do, you know. The body, the mind, the brain just have to do what you want. Not you do what the brain wants. Like when you are meditating and the brain says, "Go and take coffee. Go and see X-rated movies." Then you follow like a dog. We're not dogs. We do what we want. The body, the mind, the cells must do what we want. So, don't tell me being a vegetarian is difficult. Don't tell me meditation is difficult. No! You have to make it possible. Everything is possible. People can go to the moon, go to mars.

We go further than that. Why not? Only if you control your own rambling mind. Make it do what you want -- right now, anytime you want. That's the purpose of practicing meditation. That's the purpose of keeping the precepts. You can keep the precepts and not go to heaven. Even you don't keep the precepts, maybe you won't go to hell; but keep them. Why? Just to show that you're strong, you are master of your habits, you do what you want. Don't bargain with me. Half a day vegetarian. Another day not vegetarian. It's okay with me. You do what you want. You eat what you want. God doesn't care what you eat, but you must care. For millions of years, we walked in darkness. We just did what the mind told us to do; what the

habits, or what our friends, sisters and brothers told us to do. We never truly had the ownership of this house. So from today, you do. That's why the precepts. That's why the vegetarian. Vegetarian is from love. We love all creatures. We love the weaker person, weaker creature not because if we eat vegetarian we'll go to heaven. No, I tell you not; because the cow ate vegetarian before it was born, and he never became a Buddha for that. Don't be proud of anything you do. You just do it because it's the way to do it. It's the way to master your own destiny and habits. You control your future. The past is gone. We can't do anything about it. We can only from today build up the future -- the noble, pure, clean, charitable,

compassionate, loving future for all beings. Then wherever you go from today, you are the representative of love, compassion, of noble God qualities. That's the way you have chosen to live your life from today. I hope you have the strength, courage and guts to keep. That's all there is. Should you fail because of influences from society, or any excuse you make for yourself, stand up. Do it again. Always begin again. Don't give up, because this is the only way we can live a truly human life, if we really call ourselves human. Otherwise, we're just like animals -- work, make love, make children. Make a living and then die. What else is there? Don't aninals do the same? Some of them are more

clever than us. They do better. They don't pay taxes even, we have to.★

Even though the most beautiful words can't describe enough the gratitude and admiration, a meaningful sculpture, containing boundless respect and affirmation, was formally unveiled in a beautiful garden in Hawaii on Ching Hai Day -- October 25th. A gesture of deep sincerity that people presented to the World Spiritual Leader. In the stirring moments of the world, Your guidance is like a tower of light in the stormy darkness, radiating peace and love, warming the frozen souls, and leading the lonely boats into the Golden Age. Covered by a yellow satin cloth and tied with a red velvet ribbon, the object of our endeavor had not yet been unveiled. A green marble plaque

beneath the discreetly wrapped cloth bore witness that: "On October 25, 1993, Mayor Frank Fasi bestowed upon The Supreme Master Ching Hai the World Peace Award, honorary citizenship and this sculpture to honor her as an internationally renowned humanitarian. In 1996, Mayor Jeremy Harris designated this site for the sculpture. May it serve as a reminder of the love and compassion we should strive to achieve in the "Gathering Place" as she has demonstrated through philanthropic acts around the world." The ceremony was held in the Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden, Honolulu on October 25th -- the Third Anniversary of Ching Hai Day. The festive throng of celebrates dressed handsomely

for this occasion. The official representative from the Mayor's office, Mr. Russell, Assistant Coordinator of Culture and The Arts, rendered a speech with congratulations to this meaningful event. With a swift snip, the ribbon was cut and yellow veil was removed to reveal an artistic representation of The Supreme Master Ching Hai -- another manifestation of Her grace. In dedication to this event, beautifully composed songs were sung and a lovely hula dancing was performed, highly appreciated by the guests and host. A sumptuous vegetarian feast, so lovingly prepared and meticulously displayed to convey the most kind friendship, was served. People casually walked about, enjoying the lovely

decorations in the Garden as they savoured the delicious meal. The fruitful conclusion all comes from Your glory. Bathing in Your loving atmosphere, one should remind oneself to be grateful of Your meticulous loving care. One day, brother Luh was going out. As usual, he took with him several sample booklets to give away to those with affinity. When he arrived at the train station, he spotted a monk. He intended to give a copy of the sample booklet to that monk, but the monk quickly disappeared into the station. Since it was almost time for the train to leave, brother Luh had to hurry to buy a ticket. When brother Luh got on the train, he arbitrarily picked a seat and sat down; but another passenger came and claimed the seat, insisting that he move to another one. Brother Luh complied. After changing seats, he discovered the passanger sitting next to him was the very monk that he saw at the ticket

office. Brother Luh then offered him a sample booklet. Upon seeing it, the monk exclaimed in delight, "The Supreme Master Ching Hai!" Later, he found out that the monk had already read the booklet and wanted to get initiation to practice the Quan Yin Method. He had searched all over China, but had not been able to meet any fellow practitioners. He was not discouraged but instead kept searching. He had also written to Master. Earlier this year, he had received a reply telling him that the Buddhas would never forget a sincere Truth seeker, and that he should just wait patiently. Brother Luh and the monk were grateful to Master for Her subtle arrangement, leading an earnest Truth seeker into the holy Quan Yin family.

Meanwhile, Ms. Chen sitting in the next car happened to switch to the seat opposite brother Luh's; the ticket officer had asked her to move for no particular reason. The sample booklet in the monk's hand quickly attracted her attention. Among other things, Master's photo on the book cover extremely surprised her. At the sight of her being so intrigued by the photo, brother Luh asked, "Are you interested? Do you know Her?" This lady responded very seriously, saying that she not only knew Her, but had even seen Her in person. That was the very Master she had been looking for. Ms. Chen was a Chi-Kung teacher whose school was highly thought of in Mainland China. She has been on a vegetarian diet for

spiritual reasons for a long time, and wished to devote herself to social improvement and public welfare. Although Chi-Kung did not give her what she was looking for, she had no instructions from an enlightened master until a recent dream, in which the Quan Yin Bodhisattva took her to a clear water (symbolic of Master's name -- Ching Hai, which means "clear ocean" in Chinese), and washed her feet with the water (very similar to what Jesus did to His disciples before the last supper. He said, "Now that I, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you." -- New Testament, John 13:12-15) Now she realizes that

Master was the Quan Yin Bodhisattva who washed her feet in her dream. As soon as Ms. Chen found this enlightened master, she began to fervently read Her teachings. She also recommended Her to friends and shared with them the joy of Her holy love. After getting to know only part of Master's teachings and method, one of her friends, Dr. Hsu, give up meat and alcohol and decided to follow Master to practice spiritually. He could not believe that he had so easily quit eating meat. But what is not possible under Master's holy love? Shortly afterward, brother Luh visited these initiates-to-be again. He discover that their complexions and temperaments had changed drastically, appearing

more childlike and innocent. Master's love had cleansed them. According to sister Chen, only after she found Master did she have real peace of mind, and all her desires fulfilled. Now these initiates-to-be are studying Master's teachings diligently, waiting for initiation. Through this experience, brother Luh realized that everyone can be a good instrument for Master as long as we understand Her teachings thoroughly, work hard on our spiritual practice, and attend as many group meditations as possible. Then we can be messangers of love and peace, and purify the atmosphere of the society and country. If we can eliminate our ego and fill our hearts with selfless love, our noble ideals will definitely come true; because the law of

love surpasses all. Group meditations carry enormous power. Only this powerful vibration can dissolve a grave and violent atmosphere. The more difficult our environment is, the more often we should to attend group meditations, the more diligently we should spread Master's teachings. Our society is much more civilized now than in Jesus Christ's time, so we should have more courage to work for the Truth.★

Sister Chiang lived in Tamsui. Hoping to find suitable housing in Taipei so her entire family could live together, she prayed to Master for help. It would be wonderful if she could lease a house from a fellow practitioner, she thought. Sister Chan of Taipei had a new house. Her husband, a non-initiate, placed an advertisement in the newspapers but hoped to rent the house to a vegetarian family. As sister Chiang flipped open the newspaper to the page of classified ads for houses for rent, her eyes intuitively fell on this small ad. She immediately called to make an inquiry. When the landlord _ sister Chan's husband _ found that the

very first call that he received and the very first potential tenant who came to take a look at the house happened to be a fellow practitioner of his wife, he quickly took her home to meet his wife. This first meeting turned out to be like a reunion between old friends. Everyone was thrilled and happy, and the house was leased to a fellow practitioner without much ado and to everyone's satisfaction. It was as reassuring as placing the house in Master's hands. We are but travelers journeying through this world. God is the magnanimous landlord who gives us all we need and is waiting for us to go home to the magnificent hall of glory that Hes has prepared for us in heaven.★

Master Suffers The Ignorance Of The People We are united. We have to show it somehow, we don't just talk. We don't just say, "I love my neighbor," or "I and you are one." But then when they are suffering, "Oh! It's okay. Nothing to do with me." So when you are sick, I am sick also. While I am here, I have everything that you have. Otherwise, I only have pleasure. It's good to be a Buddha, and everyone can be. Also someone said to me, "Well, if you are in operation, you can just leave your body and enjoy heaven when you come back." Well, you can do that as a disciple, but I cannot; because if I do that, I

only enjoy the things and don't suffer with you. If I don't suffer, you suffer more. So I don't run away. Now, you always have the illusion about being a master, that you will enjoy a lot more than while you are ignorant, being a disciple. It's not true. The more you long for God, the nearer you are to God. The nearer you are to masterhood, the nearer you have to understand the master position. It means you sacrifice. Masterhood means sacrifice. It doesn't mean joy. Yes, you have joy. That is a very stable joy. It is not affected by the chaotic situation of the world. But, you suffer, suffer for everyone. If you don't want to be in that situation, then you have to want God less. You have

to enjoy the world more and forget God, forget Master. Then you will be a little bit further away from the furnace, from the powerhouse. You are further from the position of the sacrificed lamb, then you don't suffer so much and then you enjoy more. Just like the cook in the kitchen now, he has to cook for us. If he wants to enjoy the way we do, he has to leave the kitchen, let someone else cook. So, someone has to cook for all these people to enjoy. For the master it is the same, or if anyone loves the master so much. I don't mean you love me personally, or any other master. I mean when you love the Truth so much, when you want nothing else but God, then you are very near to the master, master power, master qualities. That's

when you don't enjoy. I am sorry to say, that's a very paradoxical thing; but that's the way it is. So if you don't want all this sacrifice unintentionally, you want more a kind of heavenly mansion or heavenly wisdom light and all that kind of fancy stuff, then you don't yearn too much. That's why in Zen they say, "The more you desire enlightenment, the less you get." Because you obstruct yourself with your desire. But a logical way of speaking is that you are too near. You want it too much, that you are so near. You desire that thing so much that it is you, it becomes you. You are obsessed with it so you have to take on that quality. The way you want God that much is a saintly person who wants

it. The Master Never Enjoys This World Now, if you are a saint, you are a master, a kind of master soul. Then you cannot enjoy, because the whole world is suffering; and your soul inside will have to take on the suffering of other people -- of the ignorant, of the desperate, of the dark experience of the people around the world. So the way now, I don't enjoy the way I did. Now, you enjoy. I am the cook. I cook in the kitchen all the time. I cannot sit at the table with you, with all the fancy clothes and with people serving you like this. While I cook, I don't even get to see you. Similar with the master.

Therefore, the more you yearn for God, the less you see. I am sorry to say it, if everyone else tells you differently. If you yearn halfway, you get a half. If you yearn too much, you see not much; you suffer because you will be too near to God. God knows everything, God knows the suffering of mankind. And in this world there is more suffering than joy. So many masters never enjoy this world. But it's good, because they don't come to enjoy. If you want to enjoy, then you have to come back again, be an ignorant person and start to enjoy again. If you are already a professor of mathematics or English, and you want to sit in the class and get taught, get served, and get loved by a teacher again, that's ridiculous. That's the only way

you get the same attention again as when you were a student. Most of us have been students in our life, and we regret afterwards that we didn't enjoy the student time. Well, I did. Everyone told us when we were students that is the best time that we could have, but we never know. We don't appreciate it. We want to be a professor, right now, or better yesterday. (Laughter) When we became professor or teacher, then we thought, "Wow, it was good to be a student!" Carefree, and everything was easier, youthful. No responsibility and we just party here, party there, and girlfriend here and boyfriend there. Everything was just so easy. But then, you cannot go back to being a student again, because you have already become

a professor. Even if you now take off your clothes, throw away your degree, and go and sit again with the students, you don't have the same experience and then you complain. Why? You say, "Why don't I enjoy the way she does. The other students enjoy, why don't I?" Because you've passed that enjoyment, you can't go back, you can't turn back the clock. The Three Stages Of Enlightenment So you have to recognize yourself, whether you are a beginner on this path in which you enjoy more than everyone else, or you have not yet reached the beginning stage of spiritual practice, or you've passed beyond the enjoyment

stage. There are three stages of enlightenment, language speaking. The first is the ignorant stage. You haven't even begun to want to practice. You have not even gone further than materialism. The second path is that you are enlightened. You see the light, you see God, you see heavenly mansions, you see all kinds of things while you are in samadhi, you enjoy all of this bliss. The third path is that you've passed that. Just like in school, first you did not enroll in university. You are a nobody. You're just a high school drop out or nothing. Now, you enroll. Enrolling is the second path and you begin to learn something in the university. The third path, you've graduated. We practitioners have different

levels. Just be at ease with yourself -- that's where you are, and don't ask for more than you can digest at a time. Don't ask ridiculous things, like you are already a professor, for example, and want to enjoy the student's life; because the age is different, the mentality is different. If you ask me, as a master, can I do everything for you? Yes, I can. But what for? What for do you want heaven anyhow? We should make this world into heaven, not escape into it. It's okay when you sit and you have heaven naturally; but if you always desire it, it's also queer. We are not beggars. If Hes doesn't give you, don't bother. Hes is not generous enough, maybe. It is Hiers fault. And if a creator can

afford to make such a mistake as to overlook you, then the more so we don't need to see Hirm. Selfless Service I see nothing now. I am only here twenty-four hours. I don't have time to even see you all here, even sometimes, if I flash around. I don't even have time to pay attention to all these heavenly signs, because I use my time to serve you. But still, despite all my blackness or no visionness, you still revere me as a Master, why? It's not because of my visions now? They're all gone. Because of my love, because of my non-asking anything. I only give. I don't want anything from God and I want nothing from you. That's

very important. So we have to serve selflessly and everything else will come. It's difficult to tell you all this because you always hear, Seek you first the Kingdom of God, then all the things shall be added onto you. But what is the Kingdom of God? The Kingdom of God is not for yourself alone. If I have a Kingdom of God, everyone must fit in. Otherwise, I don't go there, I'll wait for everyone. What's the good of me sitting there alone, or with you, or with a few disciples enjoying the Kingdom of God and the whole mankind are crawling, groveling on the earth suffering and all that? So the Kingdom of God comes after everyone else is enlightened, if it comes to that.

I believe to work for everyone else's happiness than to work for my own. So if you continue on that path, you have more satisfaction than any vision can give you. So don't get strayed from that, you are doing okay. Just do that. Just serve people, and you'll have more satisfaction than any vision, than any light or any Buddha's appearance can give you. I tell you the truth. So let's be the cooks, not the guests all the time. We can be the guest sometimes also. But you have been and you were not satisfied. You thought the guest must be more than that. Because you cook all the time, and sometimes you go to the restaurant, you imagine that a guest would be such and such. But the guest is only there just

to eat. That's it, and you pay your money and then you go home -- no big deal. True Spiritual Practice Is Gentle And Graceful Similarly, if we have spiritual visions. Sometimes because we expect too much, we think a vision must be this, that and the other. It's not. It's a very ordinary thing. It's not like an electric shock that you know when it comes, or when it goes. It's very gentle. The transition between materialism into the spiritual spheres is very, very gentle. Therefore, it's not a kind of astral projection that you know when you are out of the body, because it's not the way of true spiritual practice. True spiritual practice eases the

self into different dimensions in such a very gentle and graceful way that you don't even know you were there, because you had no more ego while you were there. Otherwise, you know, "Now, I am on the first, now I am on the second, now I am on the third. I am the saint -- third degree or third year." It's no good. I'll tell you why. Because we are already always there where we want to be. So what's the point of knowing where you are going and what degree you've reached? It's okay for some, to lure them onto the spiritual path. But it's not for everyone, and it must not always be like that. For example, maybe when you first graduate from law school, you are proud. Yes, you probably tell everyone about it, make many parties because you want to celebrate your graduation as a doctor of law. But after some years you don't even remember that you are a lawyer. Occasionally people ask. You will remember; but without any pride, without any elation or without any happiness, nothing; because you are just that. Nothing new to you. When You Are Empty, Then You Are Full Similarly, some of us are so acquainted with spiritual elation that it becomes like breathing. That's the way it should be actually. It's not always I sit here watching the Buddha's lands, because then we are still separated. We are not in the Buddha land, we are watching the Buddha land. We and the Buddha land are two. The nearer masterhood, the more ignorant you will become again. That's a paradoxical thing of life. That's why in the Tao Teh Ching Lao Tze said, "The wise are like the fool, ignorant." Yes, you become like recycled again. But it doesn't mean you are ignorant the way you were ignorant before. It's not the same. Before you were ignorant and now you are truly ignorant, ignorant in the real sense. Before you were ignorant, but you thought you were wise. You cheated yourself into wisdom and thought that you knew everything. But now, you know that you are truly ignorant; and that's when you are wise. Because when you are empty, then you are full. The universe is yours. When you are full of all garbage, then you are outside. I am talking to all the people, the invisible beings as well and also to myself. I've had that feeling also, sometimes before. It's hard to be a master, because you deny yourself everything, including visions, including the knowledge of the so-called computerized data. I only know what I must know and at that right time. That's it. That's all we need for the moment. Otherwise, it's burdensome to carry all this wisdom with you and show everyone that you are a master. It's not the way.

There is a story in India. There was a person who had been practicing very well. One day, he went to hell to visit and saw a ghost being burnt very miserably by the fire of hell. That person asked Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha: "Why is he in so miserable a situation? Why is he being burnt so severely by fire that he cannot be burnt to death, is burnt again if he did die, like this for hundreds of lifetimes?" Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said: "That person was too ferocious. His ferocious heart ought to be burnt away so that the good merciful qualities can be uncovered later." Seeing that the ghost was so young and was being punished so severely, this practitioner felt lots of clemency for him and said: "Let me take care of him at home. He will not need anything if he is next to me, because I will give him everything. I think he certainly will not do any bad things, the greedy heart will not come out, and he will not have any desires. Just let me try!" He begged Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha very sincerely to let go of the ghost, to allow him to take him home to take care of him. "All right," said Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, "I, of course, don't like to do this because you will make trouble for yourself. However, since you are so sincere, I'll give him to you to take home." The first one to two days after going home were all right, because this master asked the little ghost to help him to do a lot of things. The little ghost was very happy and did not cause any trouble, so long as he had some work to do. However since he was a practitioner and did not own too many possessions and that the ghost was very powerful and had magical power, he could move things very quickly and finished moving all the things in two to three days' time. Having nothing to do, he waited there and asked the master if there was any other work. Without work given to him, he wanted to kill the master; because he was having a lot of power, and when there was nothing to do, he did not know how to handle the power. The little ghost quarrelled with the master and wanted to kill him. The master ran for his life and went to hell to ask Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha for help. Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said to him: "I already told you that his ferocious quality had not been eliminated yet. With so little good qualities and yet you still took him home, you, of course, will bring trouble for yourself." Nevertheless, Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha told him a method that could control the little ghost. He said: "When you go home, you ask him to build a very tall tower with very long and very high stairs." After finishing the tower, the little ghost asked for work again! The master could not think of any. Then he chased after the master until the master went to hell. Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said: "You go back and tell him to run everyday from the first step of the stairs to the highest step, then run down from the highest stair, and then run up again from the lowest stair. You tell him to run like this everyday, then he will not bother you again!" Our brain is just the same. No matter what work we give it, it is all right so long as it has work to do. If there is no work, it will think nonsense. However, our brain being so smart, so talented, it would be such a waste if we used it to do small things. We should know our value and don't waste it. Most people do things wrong because they can not find a work that will match their so-called intelligence. Therefore, they feel upset and go out to do illegal things, just to satisfy the proactive abilities inside themselves.

Having talents and yet cannot use them is a very upsetting feeling. We used to say: "A hero who has found no place for himself." Therefore, if we have the chance to choose work in the future, we better choose the work that serves society. We think at a leisurely pace and there must be a way out. Don't be too rushed, make the wrong choice, and then do nonsense, wasting our ability and our power.

I felt Master's teachings concurred with the philosophy of contemporary people, so my wife and I registered for initiation immediately after Her lecture.

I am a military officer. During the training in the Army, Navy and Air Force's University, I had already developed an affinity with Master through Her posters. Later when I went home for a vacation, my mother borrowed a few of Master's lecture videotapes and a sample booklet from the neighbors. When I casually read the sample booklet and watched the videotapes, I felt that seeing Master was just like having a reunion with an old friend. I thought it was because I had already seen Master's posters. After initiation, I realized that actually we have affinity with Master life after life, and that we possibly were practitioners of the Quan Yin Method in previous lives. We

came down to this earth to learn again because we didn't wholeheartedly follow Master to practice spiritually in our previous lives. Master is compassionate to teach us again during the end of this era of true dharma, so we can receive immediate enlightenment and get liberated within this lifetime. At that time, my mother and wife started the vegetarian diet; and my mother had signed up for initiation. Finally, I had the opportunity to receive initiation, when Master gave a public lecture in Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. I was busy on military errands during that time, and seldom went home for vacation. When my wife called to ask me if I could attend Master's lecture, without hesitation, I made time and

went. I felt Master's teachings concurred with the philosophy of contemporary people, so my wife and I registered for initiation immediately after the lecture. Before initiation, I not only smoked but also joined parties and drank very often. She was worried and reminded me many times that once I got initiated, I had to keep the five precepts strictly. My wife asked me if I could do it. I said, "No problem." After initiation, my tough, hot-tempered and easy-to-be-irritated personality changed. The most difficult thing for me was to quit smoking and drinking. Following the vegetarian diet evolved quite naturally. Whenever I encountered difficulties or

problems, I just meditated and pondered silently to dig out the wisdom within. Then all the difficulties were easily solved and I passed the tests. Now, I sincerely put myself into Master's hands, have faith in Her, and behave according to Her instructions. I follow Master's lead to the home of masters -- the hometown of our souls.★

There were only a dozen people who were responsible for serving the food, and we were very honored that Master had asked us to come and sit with Her. At that time, Master was screening the performances that were going to be on stage the next evening. She was quite concentrated and serious about the screening and I was much impressed. I watched the rehearsed performances carefully. Some of them would only get thirty points from me. After being corrected by Master, they turned out later during the formal presentation to be worth one hundred points. By participating in Master's work, I could feel that as long as we are sincere in doing the work, She would know and correct us in every little detail so

that we could be more perfect in our work. For instance, sometimes I thought that my work was not too bad, then suddenly a resident disciple would come over and point out which pan was not covered. Or, if there were some neglected areas, they would be immediately noticed by fellow practitioners. Among the fellow practitioners working together, what we had on our minds and discussed all the time was Master's teachings. This subconsciously raised our spiritual atmosphere and spirits. Human beings by nature are mostly lazy. In doing Master's work, fellow practitioners reminded one another and overcame the laziness. Besides, in doing Master's work more, we could understand and feel the devotion

of others and take that as an example for ourselves. For example, one time I had participated in the working group and only then did I realize that lots of brothers and sisters had to arrived much earlier before each group meditation so that they could prepare the hall perfectly for fellow practitioners to have a stable meditation. In addition, kitchen work is always very busy. Members would grasp each and every opportunity to meditate. They treasured every minute and are more concentrated. It was very obvious that those fellow practitioners who had participated more in Master's work were more diligent and stable in their practice and had more correct concepts. People

who often came to work would be positively affected by the whole group. It was just like family members helping each other, becoming more happy on the path. After being promoted to be the head of the kitchen group, apart from designating the work, I also had to consider the personality of each individual member and learn the art of communication. I became like a counselor and realized that only when I was taking meticulous care and had a good understanding of the fellow practitioners then I could lead the whole group well. I often said to the members that it is very rare that we have a living Master and are able to get initiation and follow Her. To do Master's work, one needs to have the necessary merits and

affinity. It is not that everyone has the opportunity to do the kitchen work. We should treasure the chance to serve others. Once, I helped the news group to send a videotape to a television station. On that day we had finished the cutting and editing quickly, and be on time for the news. Upon arriving at the station, we were unable to find a parking space. I then deeply realized how hard we have to struggle to live in this world. By participating in a different types of work, we are able to discover that we have more hidden abilities to develop. Now that the number of fellow practitioners is increasing rapidly worldwide; there are a lot of opportunities to serve. If each of us could use a little

more effort, we could help more people step onto the spiritual path smoothly.★

Being unable to focus on the Truth before, now she has improved a lot. She has met Master in dreams and has taken trips to heaven. To the omnipotent Master who has gracefully granted rebirth to our souls, sister Shi is most grateful and deeply moved. Having lost her family since childhood, sister Shi has had a great deal of difficulity in speaking and expressing herself. She feels that she has to practice more sincerely and diligently then she can live up to Master's expectations of humankind and heavenly spirits -- the Master who has saved sentient beings from sufferings and difficulties. Now, sister Shi has made great improvements in her ability to express herself. Not only can she speak well, but she also has a lot of confidence. Furthermore, she now knows how to deal with people and no longer feels insecure about her own ability. Master's teachings and instructions are everywhere in daily life. Therefore, she feels that Master has been unbelievably taking meticulous care of her and her family. Master's great love is just like her parent, rectifying all her previous imperfections.

One night, I watched the video "Great Spiritual World". It described a traffic accident in which a lot of people died. At the time of their death, there were angels to receive every person to glide them up into the sky, reaching a place with clouds scattered everywhere. People discovered that their soul body was complete. The blind or the amputated had become a complete body again. In that area, which was more beautiful than our world, when people had a thought about a house, a house would then appear! Many of the friends and relatives of those people who had passed away before would come to meet them. It was such a happy time! Only then did they realized that they had died. At

the same time, they also realized that there was no dying; it was just a transition to another realm. When I was totally absorbed in the video, my mother returned home from teaching school. She was holding sample booklets and videotapes of The Supreme Master Ching Hai. The subsequent reading released many of my doubts. The chapter "The Mystery of the World Beyond" in the sample booklet was especially outstanding. Not only did it introduce a method of dying while living, it also described many worlds more than what was described in the movie. They were unheard of before. I couldn't help but admired the great Master, The Supreme Master Ching Hai who had such a high level of wisdom and enlightenment. When I was watching the video,

The Supreme Master Ching Hai was singing some Buddhist songs. Since childhood I have rarely cried, as I regarded crying as an act of losing face. However, as I was listening to The Supreme Master Ching Hai's Buddhist chanting, tears spontaneously kept flowing from my eyes. The sound of Her chanting had touched me deeply. It was like playing the strings of my heart, touching the yearning desire in the deepest part of my soul. The following day, I took the initiative to propose to mother: "How about the whole family becoming vegetarian?" Then, within a very short period of time, our whole family very easily became vegetarian and applied for initiation. We hoped sincerely for Master's return to the country to give us

initiation. She came back from Japan a few days after Christmas and many thanks to Her, our whole family received initiation on the same day and became a family of fellow practitioners. After initiation, I felt that many past events had been washed away and I had become a new person. The day of initiation was the day of my rebirth, a new life was given to me by Master! I was just like a newborn baby. In these years, there have been lots of lessons and tests. With Master accompanying me, I have been able to very easily pass through many worries and sad situations in the mundane world. The very thought of remembering Master is so comforting and joyful. I only want to tell Master: "Master, You have been doing too much hard work. Please

take care of Your body. Many thanks for Your long time meticulous care."★

One of the rabbis, he was always fed up with the people who always came to see him, so he asked for seclusion. He went on retreat and saw no one. Normally Father Abraham would come to see him every... I forgot the name of it, because it's a Jewish name. (A: Passover?) Maybe Passover, yes, yes. The ascended Abraham probably would appear to him every Passover. But that Passover, he didn't appear. So the rabbi panicked and kept always praying and praying. Finally, Father Abraham appeared to him and said, "Well, you wanted no one at your door, so I thought I was included. How can I come into a house when you don't welcome anyone?" That's what Father Abraham answered him. So he understood.

Then, from that day on, he welcomed everyone and he suffered the love of the people, the way I do. So Abraham came to him all the time. Even past the Passover, he also came; because that's the way he wanted. If you welcome him, you welcome his children. That's what it is. So that's why I always tell you, don't run around taking care of me. Take care of our guests, take care of our brothers and sisters, take care of whoever needs taking care of. It's okay that everyone likes to run around taking care of me and wants me and all that. But you don't realize that I am in all of you. You take care of each other, that's you taking care of me. I only need a little amount of attention. I don't need all of you taking care of me. You

run over me, step over me, overwhelm me with love and attention. And all the brothers, sisters just stand around, and no one cares about them. It's me too! It's me who you left behind there or didn't take care of. I know everything, I feel the feeling of the person. You don't feel it, but I do. So if you don't take care of them, that means you bother me, because I will know that. I will be bothered.★

It's very difficult to tell any of you that you are Buddhas and that you are similar to me, or at least more or less. You don't want to reach a complete degree of sainthood for some reason. Maybe because you want to be closer to the feeling of human beings. Maybe because you do not yet recognize how great you are. Maybe because you do not have the opportunity to completely make use of your sainthood, of your wisdom. Therefore, you don't recognize yourself as a saint. I am the one who was pushed into this position, where every minute of my life, every time, every turn of the corner, I have to make use of my wisdom, because of your demands. If you hadn't asked me all these questions, I wouldn't even

search my mind for all the answers. Besides, I don't need any answers. I am just satisfied the way life is. What I am now, I wasn't before. I must tell you the truth. No one is a saint when he is born. When we are bron into this world of Maya, of illusion, we have to undergo all the procedures of a human being. Like we have to be ignorant again, we have to suffer all the illusionary desires, and then the disappointment of not fulfilling the desires, and all that kind of thing; until one day we have enough of it and say, "Okay, that's it! Now, whatever I have, I have. If I don't, I don't." That's the time when you reach complete liberation. You liberate yourself from all your own problems, from your own

self-made prison, your own also learned prejudices of who you are. Actually, if you trace who you are, you are not there. Who is Doctor So-and-So, by the way? Before he was born, who was he? For example, before he is born, no one knows who Doctor So-and-So is. Now he is born into the So-and-So family. Then everyone calls him that from his birth, So-and-So. So he grows up with that name, and then he gets a university degree. That adds more to his individuality. So he recognizes himself as such, as a university law graduate. Then he knows more about books. He learns from books and he learns this and he learns from business and that. All this knowledge we call Doctor So-and-So. Actually, if the knowledge is

you, then you are just knowledge, you are just nothing. Because if you didn't learn all these, then you'd never exist. If you didn't learn how to speak, if you didn't learn how to eat, if you didn't learn how to dress yourself, if you didn't learn at university, what would you be? So most of us identify ourselves with all that we learned, all these habits we do, then we think that's "us". Therefore, we have different individuals like Mr. So-and-So and Mrs. So-and-So because she learned different things. She has had different experiences from life. She learned lessons from different books and she makes her own judgements from what she has learned also. He makes his own judgements. So we are all separated.

Otherwise, we are never separated. We are the knowledge house. We are together without the bodies. As soon as we assume the body and we assume more knowledge from different sources, we identify ourselves differently from the neighbors. That's when dividedness starts. That's when we start to get into the trap of ignorance. We forgot our origin. So the more you learn, the farther you are from knowledge. ★

Most of the nobility or rich people are those who have only mateial merit but no merit for spiritual practice. As far as liberation is concerned, they are poor. The reason that Master dresses and behaves like them is to let them feel close to Her. When She chats, laughs merrily and make friends with them, it is only to give them some belssings with which to form an affinity with a living master.

Master often says that the more we spiritual practitioners behave like normal people, the better it is. Her demeanor is very natural so others like to be close to Her. Master never immediately shows that She is a spiritual practitioner in public. Sometimes when She stays in a hotel, She orders some bread with cheese to eat. It often happens that, after several days of our living there, the hotel staff doesn't even know that we are a group of vegetarians and spiritual practitioners. In addition, when Master was in Europe, She was frequently invited to banquets to meet with royal families, nobility or high ranking officials. She always dressed very elegantly. Once,

She asked the fellow practitioners near Her, "When you see me dressed gorgeously with so many beautiful ornaments, would you think that I am a spiritual practitioner?" The fellow practitioners all said no. In order to let us understand further, Master explained why She did so. It was because most of the nobility or rich people are those who have only material merit but no merit for spiritual practice. As far as liberation is concerned, they are poor. Master has also said that some of our fellow practitioners have too much "Zen atmosphere," which can be sensed by others right away. Their "atmosphere" truly stinks. These fellow practitioners always want to let people know that they are pursuing spiritual practice; wherever they go, they like to show off their "Zen atmosphere". Doing Work Is Paving A Road For Our Spiritual Practice Master once told us privately that, at the present time, more than half of Her disciples hardly have any merit to pursue

spiritual practice, and that it was Her who had helped them to get initiated and liberated with Her own merit from Her spiritual practice. Therefore, after we are initiated, Master always encourages us to find time to do some work for others. It is all right to work for society to repay the favor of the world, or to work for our group. The reason is that, if we do not work, we will use up our merit even by walking on the roads and passing over bridges everyday. When it is all used up, we will not have any merit left. Therefore, work can help us accumulate our merit little by little and pave the long road of spiritual practice for our entire life. If we work today, we will have merit to pursue our spiritual practice tomorrow.★

Now I am not but I still have doubts. Even with the doubt will it be a problem? M: No! You will have more strong faith in God day after day as your experiences grow. But even then if you don't believe in God, you already have seen God's light. There is no question of believing, just a question of contacting God. That's enough. Actually most of the people are atheist because they have never seen God. Even if you believe you have parents, but you've never seen parents or your parents are already dead, you still are an orphan. So, even if you don't believe you have parents, but you're always with parents, then what for do you have to believe that you have parents? You already have parents everyday. It's not a question of intellectual believing, because actually God is everywhere. It's not the one God who sits in heaven that you should believe in. So, actually you are not an atheist, it's just that you don't believe in the so-called God that people want to present to you -- the God who sits somewhere in heaven and has no pity on human beings, punishes people in hell and all that kind of thing; and God is even jealous, etcetera, all the qualities of humans. Then why do we have to worship that kind of God? They make a fool out of God, some of the people; and that's why they even push people away from God. So in that case, you are not atheist, otherwise you wouldn't have the sincerity to search for something that you don't even know. Ah, don't worry! She is just very honest. You cannot pretend to believe in a God that you don't know and you don't have faith in. So, by introducing you to God's qualities yesterday, you will believe. What we believe in is the great power, great compassion, omnipresent power, great love, not a God of a kind of certain quality that Hes just looks like a human. And you believe in that. Q: The God that everyone talks about is the goodness within us, that's what I thought. M: That's what you believe and that's okay. That's good! Q: What do you think about telepathy? M: That's just one of the magical powers of the first level, of the astral level. We can practice that. But in our meditation we will have what we call "thought transference". That's one of the things of the lower level -- telepathy -- because that only can be one to one, or one to two or three. But "thought transference" is the universal network. It functions from heaven to hell and earth, and functions with the multitudes. The master uses that power to communicate with the disciples everywhere, doesn't matter how big the number is. And if you practice the meditation, you will have the power also, in time. But even before you can completely handle this power, you can communicate with the master. Whatever you say, you want, or wish inside, the master always knows. Whenever you want the master to know your thought, your wish, Master will know. But if you don't want, it's okay. Master just stands by, takes a breath. Q: You mentioned the master can help a dying person. Maybe in three or four years, I will die. Can You help me? M: Sure! That's my job. If I can't help you at the time of death, who else can? Q: Will I have the time to meet God in that time? M: Yes, yes, yes. You be sincere, you practice, and you will meet God often. God will not probably be in a person. Hes is in the Light, in the Sound. In the Light and the Sound, you will find all the qualities of God. Just like in water and in food you will find all the strength and nourishment for your whole body and brain. The food doesn't need to speak, just gives you. The light and sound don't need language, don't need action, but they give you all the spiritual nourishment. That is our spiritual food. That's God Hirmself. (Applause) Before you die, you will know; and the master will come and take you to heaven. The master is the only one who accompanies you at death. Doesn't matter how much the worldly people love you, they cannot accompany you; only the Master. The Master is your only true friend and companion -- through all kinds of worlds, through life and death, through ups and downs, through everything. We have a fast, long-lasting friendship. (Applause) One important thing is, that you should know the Master will never leave you until you become Buddha, until you reach the highest spiritual level, until you become a master. Then the master's job is finished. Individually, each one is the same, doesn't matter how long it takes, doesn't matter how lousy you do. That's the promise. (Applause)

Multimedia Version Front Line The Supreme Universal Network _ Computer Exhibition in Changhua By Changhua News Group, Formosa

A seemingly endless number of visitors filled the gymnasium, revealing their truest quality deep inside.

The Computer Exhibition in Changhua was a spectacular event held in the Changhua County Gymnasium in mid October. Our Changhua Center was invited to display Master's spiritual works of art. The host provided a public booth for us. Of all the displays, Master's creations were the most outstanding and unique. Because the Quan Yin Method is the supreme universal network, we were able to cross time and space and journey freely from star to star in the universe. During the exhibition, fellow practitioners from Taichung, Nantou and Changhua worked swiftly and cautiously as a team, making every effort to convey these celesital creations in a beautiful way. A lot of

laughter could be heard coming from our booth, creating a very natural, relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. It was an honor for fellow practitioners to be part of this activity. A fellow practitioner specializing in interior design told us that a dark background ususally gives better contrast to whatever is being displayed, according to his experience. However, when they went to decorate the place, only white cloth and gold ribbons were available. These materials, beyond our expectation, turned an otherwise ordinary booth into a beautiful scene from heaven. In this exhibition, we displayed all of Master's works of art, proving to the world that after enlightenment, we are better able to utilize our potentials

more completely and make our lives more prolific. Master is open-minded in Her creations and is not limited by any rules. That's why Her works are varied and abundant in style, the embodiment of artistic perfection yet unartificial and elegant. They are state-of-the-art and unprecedented in history. The S.M. exhibiting area was at the entrance of the gymnasium, so every visitor could hear Master's gracious voice and lectures of wisdom. From Her photos, Master could see all those with affinity; and a lot of them stood and watched Her, too. They all sighed with admiration when they learned She had never studied designing and painting before, and that all these creations had come from

supraworldly inspiration. They lingered in the exhibiting area, requesting sample booklets and News magazines, eager to know more about Master's tachings. Many of them left their phone numbers and addresses, wanting to learn the Convenient Method of meditation to have the News magazines sent to them on a regular basis. The hearts of children are closest to heaven. A little child reached for a sample booklet the moment he saw it and kept staring at Master's photos. Another child was absorbed in the charm of Master's works. Furthermore, a visitor dropped by our booth several times and claimed to have perceived invisible blessings from Master there. The working staff of the neighboring booths also took

this rare opportunity and came to us for sample booklets. When a sister brought lunch for our fellow practitioners, the volunteer workers outside the gymnasium offered to help her carry the lunchboxes. Having looked at Master's works of art and listened to Her lectures, these new friends asked us to order vegetarian meals for them. On the following days of the exhibition, they often visited our S.M. booth. When asked why they kept coming back, they answered in a child-like tone of voice, "We don't know why. We just like it." Master's love had filtered into their hearts. Our fellow practitioners also used computers displayed in the NEC Room to connect to our Quan Yin website on the WWW, to convey Master's messages in a

brand new fashion. It is a blessing for all sentient beings that Her teachings can be spread to every corner of the world quickly and directly via the internet in this computer age. Walking into the S.M. exhibiting area, everyone was either inspired by the heavenly glory or filled with love and joy. We appreciate the way Master has awakened and delivered sentient beings using different means, and are grateful to Her for bringing this heavenly beauty down to earth. In this computer age, it's our sincere hope that the world will be devoted to discovering their original true selves via the inner network. Our Quan Yin Method is this very network -- the most ancient yet the most advanced as well. Let's walk back home to heaven and at

Multimedia Version Supreme Art S.M. Celestial Jewelry Brightens Up The Middle East -- Celestial Jewelry Exhibition In Abu Dhabi, U.A.E

The exquisite and heart-moving S.M.Celestial Jewelry was exhibited for the first time in a wealthy land of the Middle East, specifically in the capital city Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates. A modern new world built in the middle of the desert is quite an outstanding scene of this country. From the airport to Abu Dhabi lies a perfectly straight and wide highway, along which stands many exquisitely modeled pavilions. Beautiful mosques and buildings are visible everywhere. A normal scene in a Muslim country is that the people on the street are usually all males, and that females rarely go out by themselves. Due to the intense heat, the men like to

wear white robes and cover their heads with a piece of white cloth. So they all look elegant and comfortable. When women go out, they are usually accompanied by men and cover their whole bodies in black. According to the custom, they even cover their entire faces except for their two big eyes. Since it is dry and burning hot during the day, people here choose the period from late afternoon to nightfall as their activity time. The jewelry exhibition was held in the evenings from October 29th to November 1st. On the first day of the exhibition, the prince of U.A.E. was the honorable guest at the grand opening. The prince was kind and radiant. Smiling he viewed and admired the displayed jewelry of all the participating

organizations. He even stayed in front of the Celestial Jewelry display window to view and admire it. Many women were attracted by Master's celestial jewelry, and frequently and silently conversed with each other while holding the black veils covering their faces. A lady liked the celestial jewelry so much that the next day, her husband came in person to see what kind of jewelry had attracted his wife to such an extent. An interesting thing was that when some Egyptians saw Master's Celestial Jewelry, they were very surprised. Some of the people were fascinated with the celestial jewelry for children, some wholeheartedly admired the "Heavenly Dragon Imperial

Cutlery," and some felt that the design of the "Hidden Force Connection" touched their hearts. They all indicated that Master's jewelry designs were noble, dignified, imposing and magnificent, and had extraordinary artistic value. A design shouldn't be judged by an ordinary sense of value. The people very humbly accepted Master's sample booklets and News magazines. Furthermore, they hoped that these elegant and beautiful pieces of jewelry might be exhibited in their country one day. A person rushed for the jewelry exhibition right after he got off the airplane. The only jewelry designs from which he couldn't tear himself away were Master's designs. He couldn't keep his eyes off of the

"Meditation Quan Yin Bodhisattva," "Father," "E. T.," etcetera, and wondered how such pure and noble jewelry could exist. After talking with him further, we learned that he had been longing for perfection and loved all sentient beings; however, too many mishaps in the world almost made his faith falter and he began to doubt that his ideal was not practical. In his viewpoint, the jewelry designs of others were only for commercial purposes, which did not touch his heart at all. While Master's designs comforted him so deeply that he came to the exhibition again the following day and especially asked about Master's teachings. It was obvious that he was quite moved. Before he left, he kept thanking us. It was Master's

loving power that once again guided a yearning soul back Home. Since the exhibition was opened only during the evenings, the days could be used to enjoy the special local scenery. So during the daytime, the fellow practitioners who helped with the exhibition took their children to enjoy the desert scenery; and at night, they came to the exhibition and happily distributed the flyers introducing Master's Celestial Jewelry to the spectators. Perhaps due to the conservative customs, most people looked serious. They kept their heads lowered, looking at the pure and innocent children giving them the beautiful flyers. Later, they started to smile and say thank you, which was taken as an

honor by the children. Master's Celestial Jewelry shocked many people in different ways. A gentleman who came from Beirut said, "Master is from the Kingdom of God." A young Arabian man came back to our booth more than five times and gazed at master's jewelry silently for a long time. Finally, he brought his father to see it. It turned out that he was an artist and was studying creative design. He bashfully said that he liked the display. In the entire venue he only loved the indescribably beautiful Celestial Jewelry. This exhibition of Celestial Jewelry seemed to be a generous gift of God to respond to the inner longing of Hiers children who loved beauty. Although this was the first time that we came to this foreign country, with

Master's light and love, the exhibition bore a wealth of beautiful spiritual fruit. On the closing day of the exhibition, we sincerely prayed that the people in this country could also obtain Master's supreme method and realize Allah's Truth in this lifetime.★

[Mexico City] Fellow practitioners were invited by the director of a UFO magazine for a special interview on his radio program. This program is aired on the most listened radio station in the country. This station not only broadcasts throughout all of Mexico, but also all the way to the U.S.A. and Argentina. Taking this opportunity to reach audiences all over the American continents, fellow practitioners made a point of emphasizing the importance of a vegetarian diet to purify the body so that the soul can be more easily elevated. They explained that practicing the right method will speed up our progress in spiritual practice, and the differences between practicing

without a real enlightened master. They gave an introduction to the benefits of practicing the Quan Yin Method and the Convenient Method of meditations. That same night, even before the program ended, the Mexico Center started to receive an unexpected number of calls from people interested in Master's teachings. Since then everyday they have received phone calls from people searching for the Truth, and willing to be vegetarian for the rest of their lives. They are truly ready for spiritual practice. A tide to practice spiritually was inspired by the program. Due to a great number of phone calls from people who were interested in more information about spiritual practice, the program

method. Now, he was fortunate enough to know a Master and his wish was satisfied. He also invited fellow practitioners to explain the benefits of meditation to his family. He felt that Master's teachings were very logical, convincing him in a very natural way. During the exhibition, fellow practitioners expanded their vision by doing Master's work. They also witnessed Master's incredible power of love in melting people's hearts. We met a gentleman whom we had met before at another spiritual exhibition. Since then, his argumentative attitude had changed and he treated fellow practitioners in a humble and amiable manner. Whenever his booth was not busy he'd came over to watch Master's videos.

He was able to feel Master's peaceful blessings and said, with deep sincerity, "The atmosphere here is so beautiful, just like in heaven." There was another participant in the exhibition who had been receiving the News magazine for a long time. Our video display was right opposite his booth, and after watching Master's lecture videotapes for days, his face radiated joy and he quickly applied for initation. Fellow practitioners also utilized various opportunities to exchange ideas with other spiritual groups and introduced the message of the Quan Yin Method to them. They exchanged addresses with fellow practitioners, hoping that they would be able to see Master the next time She comes to England,

so that they could share the boundless magnetic field of a living master. At the conclusion of the exhibition, fellow practitioners bade good-bye to these newly acquird friends. We felt that everything had been arranged and taken care of by Master. All those who were yearning for th Truth and liberation will certainly meet each other again in the big Quan Yin family.★

[Texas] The first annual Whole Life Exposition in Austin in which over ten thousand people attended was a great success. During the days of the exhibition, Austin was blessed by unseasonably cool weather and rain. The Expo was held in Palmer Auditorium, situated across from Lake Austin. The lake meanders through the city, giving a wonderful view of the calm Austin skyline. Fellow practitioners were extremely glad to share Master's teachings and love with more people with affinity. Austin has always been known as a spiritual city, evident by the number of people that visited our booth. Not only was our booth situated in a very good location, but we also had a

professional exhibiting stand which we borrowed and decorated elegantly and gracefully to display Master's publications. Our booth was quite outstanding compared to all the rest. The three-day exhibition was a success measured by the large number of people that attended, and the demand of sample booklets and News magazines that far exceeded the supply. As people stopped by they were attracted to Master's lectures on the TV. Some stayed many hours in front of TV to absorb Her words of wisdom. After a while, some even sat down to continue to watch. It was very touching to see their eyes glued to the TV, reluctant to move away. Even other exhibitors nodded their heads, complimented Master, and agreed that She is

indeed a true Master. One astrologer came by and asked for more information about Master. Later he told us that She is indeed a living Master, destined to come here and teach sentient beings. Some Truth aspirants looked so sincere holding the sample booklets and News magazines. This showed us that they realized the rare opportunity of meeting a real Master, and that they cherished it from the bottom of their hearts. There were even many famous monks who came and took sample booklets and News magazines. It was interesting that they would pick up a picture of a beautifully dressed Master. The open-minded attitude of the local spiritual practitioners could be seen by their ability to recognize a

real Master -- by the inner wisdom rather than by the outer appearance. At the conclusion of this Expo, all the fellow practitioners were so glad that they had the opportunity to progress further in their spiritual practice. [Ottawa] As was said in a previous report, the feedback from the recent art exhibition has been ongoing. People have been sincerely asking to practice the Convenient Method of meditation. A Canadian woman who learned the Convenient Method said that she has studied spiritual matters for years, but did not get the key point until she read Master's book in which Master said that we should understand that we, ourselves are masters too; and that we and God are one. When the thousand year old tortoise heard that the doctor promised to try to save its life, it unexpectedly nodded its head and shed two rows of warm tears. When Doctor Zhuang asked it to stretch out its neck, it stretched out its neck right away; when Doctor Zhuang asked it to open its mouth, it opened it immediately. I wish you success in your endeavor -- that you keep your noble purpose and promise. That's all there is for yourself. Should you decide that you don't want to keep your promise or the noble way you chose, it's alright. No one will come and knock at your door, telephone you, and tell you what to do. Never ever. In fact, you must keep your own purity in order to come back to us again after today, because initiation doesn't gaurantee you lifelong membership of heaven. You are free to come to heaven with us

or free to go back. Anyhow, heavens are within ourselves. I only help you to rediscover them. So whether you call me master, friend, sister, whatever, it doesn't matter at all. Just tradition that when someone teaches something, we call them teacher. Just help each other. If we don't keep a tranquil life -- like everyday we drink so much, get drunk like this -- we can't even drive a car and can't even work, never mind concentrate. So no drinking, no intoxicants that make you cloud your mind. If you drink now and again a glass of wine, I will not kill you perhaps; but you'd better stay away. (Laughter) Why? Because you can't control yourself, that's all. Wine is not bad. It's you, it's we who

can't control one glass, another, and two, three. And next time, again and again. If you drink once in a while, you won't go to hell perhaps. But if you drink once again and you have not mastered yourself yet, then you'll drink again. You become addicted, that's the problem. It's not the drinking, it's the addiction that makes you degrade and makes the whole thing mess up your life. Therefore, we invite you to stay away from all these harmful effects -- pornography and all these things -- that cloud our clear thinking and clear mastership of our life. That's all. No precepts, don't say, "I am holier than thou." Nothing like that. Or "You have to do this, you have to do that, otherwise

you'll die." It's not true, you'll die anyhow. (Laughter) It's not true that if you don't do what I say, you'll die. It's not so. It's just whatever I tell you, it's for your own sake; for the quickest, the most effective way; the safest way for you to tap into the inner power, to realize your own greatness, realize after all that you are the master. You have to decide what to do. You choose the way you go. You choose to walk in love, beauty and virtues. That's your freedom. That is your freedom to choose to have reponsibility of your noble way of living. I am just here whenever you need me. If you come, I tell you what I know. That's all. Don't think I am your teacher or anything like that, because you

have to teach yourself. Everything I've told you, you perhaps know already, except the initiation, the inner transmission that I'll give you later. You have it. Just you forgot how to tap into that power. Therefore, we are weak. We don't have power. Whatever we pray doesn't come true. Whatever we want to do, we can't do it just because we forgot the greatest power within ourselves. We have to recover that. That's all there is. No fee, no charge, no membership, nothing -- now, ever or after. You never will hear from me that I ask one penny from you for anything I do for you. In fact, I am the one who gives all the time. And whatever you want to give, you give. If you don't, you don't. It's all

right. No problem. If you give, give to the poor, the needy, whether I am there or not there, whether I tell you or not tell you. That's how you help yourself. We have to practice. At the same time, we have to take care of this world. That's the way we do. We don't tell you to go to the Himalayas, follow me personally behind my back and do anything for me. No, no. You just have to awaken your own greatness and then use that to help yourself get out of the transmigration, get out of the ignorance, get out of this suffering, get out of this weakness, get out of this don't-know-nothing business and be a wise person. Be strong, courageous; do what you want; and tell your mind, tell the

million, billion cells in your body to do what you want. That's what I want to teach you -- to be a master of yourself, not to call me a master and then follow me everywhere like an idiot. It's not the way. Must be master of yourself. The cells in your body listen to what you say, listen to what you want. So you must train them from today to do what you want. If you want them to be vegetarian, they'll listen. If you want to walk a noble way, they will listen. If you want to meditate, they will listen. That's the way you train yourself. Be a master of your house. Up to now, we are the slaves of any influence from outside -- any dog, any cat. Anything can disturb us, can tell us what to do. We've lost

ourselves. We've lost our independence, our mastership. So from today, you have chosen to come back to your own power. That's all there is. I will show you how; and from today, you walk the way you choose. You do, you know. The body, the mind, the brain just have to do what you want. Not you do what the brain wants. Like when you are meditating and the brain says, "Go and take coffee. Go and see X-rated movies." Then you follow like a dog. We're not dogs. We do what we want. The body, the mind, the cells must do what we want. So, don't tell me being a vegetarian is difficult. Don't tell me meditation is difficult. No! You have to make it possible. Everything is possible. People can go to the moon, go to mars.

We go further than that. Why not? Only if you control your own rambling mind. Make it do what you want -- right now, anytime you want. That's the purpose of practicing meditation. That's the purpose of keeping the precepts. You can keep the precepts and not go to heaven. Even you don't keep the precepts, maybe you won't go to hell; but keep them. Why? Just to show that you're strong, you are master of your habits, you do what you want. Don't bargain with me. Half a day vegetarian. Another day not vegetarian. It's okay with me. You do what you want. You eat what you want. God doesn't care what you eat, but you must care. For millions of years, we walked in darkness. We just did what the mind told us to do; what the

habits, or what our friends, sisters and brothers told us to do. We never truly had the ownership of this house. So from today, you do. That's why the precepts. That's why the vegetarian. Vegetarian is from love. We love all creatures. We love the weaker person, weaker creature not because if we eat vegetarian we'll go to heaven. No, I tell you not; because the cow ate vegetarian before it was born, and he never became a Buddha for that. Don't be proud of anything you do. You just do it because it's the way to do it. It's the way to master your own destiny and habits. You control your future. The past is gone. We can't do anything about it. We can only from today build up the future -- the noble, pure, clean, charitable,

compassionate, loving future for all beings. Then wherever you go from today, you are the representative of love, compassion, of noble God qualities. That's the way you have chosen to live your life from today. I hope you have the strength, courage and guts to keep. That's all there is. Should you fail because of influences from society, or any excuse you make for yourself, stand up. Do it again. Always begin again. Don't give up, because this is the only way we can live a truly human life, if we really call ourselves human. Otherwise, we're just like animals -- work, make love, make children. Make a living and then die. What else is there? Don't aninals do the same? Some of them are more

clever than us. They do better. They don't pay taxes even, we have to.★

One day, brother Luh was going out. As usual, he took with him several sample booklets to give away to those with affinity. When he arrived at the train station, he spotted a monk. He intended to give a copy of the sample booklet to that monk, but the monk quickly disappeared into the station. Since it was almost time for the train to leave, brother Luh had to hurry to buy a ticket. When brother Luh got on the train, he arbitrarily picked a seat and sat down; but another passenger came and claimed the seat, insisting that he move to another one. Brother Luh complied. After changing seats, he discovered the passanger sitting next to him was the very monk that he saw at the ticket

office. Brother Luh then offered him a sample booklet. Upon seeing it, the monk exclaimed in delight, "The Supreme Master Ching Hai!" Later, he found out that the monk had already read the booklet and wanted to get initiation to practice the Quan Yin Method. He had searched all over China, but had not been able to meet any fellow practitioners. He was not discouraged but instead kept searching. He had also written to Master. Earlier this year, he had received a reply telling him that the Buddhas would never forget a sincere Truth seeker, and that he should just wait patiently. Brother Luh and the monk were grateful to Master for Her subtle arrangement, leading an earnest Truth seeker into the holy Quan Yin family.

Meanwhile, Ms. Chen sitting in the next car happened to switch to the seat opposite brother Luh's; the ticket officer had asked her to move for no particular reason. The sample booklet in the monk's hand quickly attracted her attention. Among other things, Master's photo on the book cover extremely surprised her. At the sight of her being so intrigued by the photo, brother Luh asked, "Are you interested? Do you know Her?" This lady responded very seriously, saying that she not only knew Her, but had even seen Her in person. That was the very Master she had been looking for. Ms. Chen was a Chi-Kung teacher whose school was highly thought of in Mainland China. She has been on a vegetarian diet for

spiritual reasons for a long time, and wished to devote herself to social improvement and public welfare. Although Chi-Kung did not give her what she was looking for, she had no instructions from an enlightened master until a recent dream, in which the Quan Yin Bodhisattva took her to a clear water (symbolic of Master's name -- Ching Hai, which means "clear ocean" in Chinese), and washed her feet with the water (very similar to what Jesus did to His disciples before the last supper. He said, "Now that I, your Lord and teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you." -- New Testament, John 13:12-15) Now she realizes that

Master was the Quan Yin Bodhisattva who washed her feet in her dream. As soon as Ms. Chen found this enlightened master, she began to fervently read Her teachings. She also recommended Her to friends and shared with them the joy of Her holy love. After getting to know only part of Master's teachings and method, one of her friends, Dr. Hsu, give up meat and alcohol and decided to follow Master to practice spiritually. He could not believe that he had so easily quit eating meat. But what is not possible under Master's holy love? Shortly afterward, brother Luh visited these initiates-to-be again. He discover that their complexions and temperaments had changed drastically, appearing

more childlike and innocent. Master's love had cleansed them. According to sister Chen, only after she found Master did she have real peace of mind, and all her desires fulfilled. Now these initiates-to-be are studying Master's teachings diligently, waiting for initiation. Through this experience, brother Luh realized that everyone can be a good instrument for Master as long as we understand Her teachings thoroughly, work hard on our spiritual practice, and attend as many group meditations as possible. Then we can be messangers of love and peace, and purify the atmosphere of the society and country. If we can eliminate our ego and fill our hearts with selfless love, our noble ideals will definitely come true; because the law of

love surpasses all. Group meditations carry enormous power. Only this powerful vibration can dissolve a grave and violent atmosphere. The more difficult our environment is, the more often we should to attend group meditations, the more diligently we should spread Master's teachings. Our society is much more civilized now than in Jesus Christ's time, so we should have more courage to work for the Truth.★

Sister Chiang lived in Tamsui. Hoping to find suitable housing in Taipei so her entire family could live together, she prayed to Master for help. It would be wonderful if she could lease a house from a fellow practitioner, she thought. Sister Chan of Taipei had a new house. Her husband, a non-initiate, placed an advertisement in the newspapers but hoped to rent the house to a vegetarian family. As sister Chiang flipped open the newspaper to the page of classified ads for houses for rent, her eyes intuitively fell on this small ad. She immediately called to make an inquiry. When the landlord _ sister Chan's husband _ found that the

very first call that he received and the very first potential tenant who came to take a look at the house happened to be a fellow practitioner of his wife, he quickly took her home to meet his wife. This first meeting turned out to be like a reunion between old friends. Everyone was thrilled and happy, and the house was leased to a fellow practitioner without much ado and to everyone's satisfaction. It was as reassuring as placing the house in Master's hands. We are but travelers journeying through this world. God is the magnanimous landlord who gives us all we need and is waiting for us to go home to the magnificent hall of glory that Hes has prepared for us in heaven.★

Master Suffers The Ignorance Of The People We are united. We have to show it somehow, we don't just talk. We don't just say, "I love my neighbor," or "I and you are one." But then when they are suffering, "Oh! It's okay. Nothing to do with me." So when you are sick, I am sick also. While I am here, I have everything that you have. Otherwise, I only have pleasure. It's good to be a Buddha, and everyone can be. Also someone said to me, "Well, if you are in operation, you can just leave your body and enjoy heaven when you come back." Well, you can do that as a disciple, but I cannot; because if I do that, I

only enjoy the things and don't suffer with you. If I don't suffer, you suffer more. So I don't run away. Now, you always have the illusion about being a master, that you will enjoy a lot more than while you are ignorant, being a disciple. It's not true. The more you long for God, the nearer you are to God. The nearer you are to masterhood, the nearer you have to understand the master position. It means you sacrifice. Masterhood means sacrifice. It doesn't mean joy. Yes, you have joy. That is a very stable joy. It is not affected by the chaotic situation of the world. But, you suffer, suffer for everyone. If you don't want to be in that situation, then you have to want God less. You have

to enjoy the world more and forget God, forget Master. Then you will be a little bit further away from the furnace, from the powerhouse. You are further from the position of the sacrificed lamb, then you don't suffer so much and then you enjoy more. Just like the cook in the kitchen now, he has to cook for us. If he wants to enjoy the way we do, he has to leave the kitchen, let someone else cook. So, someone has to cook for all these people to enjoy. For the master it is the same, or if anyone loves the master so much. I don't mean you love me personally, or any other master. I mean when you love the Truth so much, when you want nothing else but God, then you are very near to the master, master power, master qualities. That's

when you don't enjoy. I am sorry to say, that's a very paradoxical thing; but that's the way it is. So if you don't want all this sacrifice unintentionally, you want more a kind of heavenly mansion or heavenly wisdom light and all that kind of fancy stuff, then you don't yearn too much. That's why in Zen they say, "The more you desire enlightenment, the less you get." Because you obstruct yourself with your desire. But a logical way of speaking is that you are too near. You want it too much, that you are so near. You desire that thing so much that it is you, it becomes you. You are obsessed with it so you have to take on that quality. The way you want God that much is a saintly person who wants

it. The Master Never Enjoys This World Now, if you are a saint, you are a master, a kind of master soul. Then you cannot enjoy, because the whole world is suffering; and your soul inside will have to take on the suffering of other people -- of the ignorant, of the desperate, of the dark experience of the people around the world. So the way now, I don't enjoy the way I did. Now, you enjoy. I am the cook. I cook in the kitchen all the time. I cannot sit at the table with you, with all the fancy clothes and with people serving you like this. While I cook, I don't even get to see you. Similar with the master.

Therefore, the more you yearn for God, the less you see. I am sorry to say it, if everyone else tells you differently. If you yearn halfway, you get a half. If you yearn too much, you see not much; you suffer because you will be too near to God. God knows everything, God knows the suffering of mankind. And in this world there is more suffering than joy. So many masters never enjoy this world. But it's good, because they don't come to enjoy. If you want to enjoy, then you have to come back again, be an ignorant person and start to enjoy again. If you are already a professor of mathematics or English, and you want to sit in the class and get taught, get served, and get loved by a teacher again, that's ridiculous. That's the only way

you get the same attention again as when you were a student. Most of us have been students in our life, and we regret afterwards that we didn't enjoy the student time. Well, I did. Everyone told us when we were students that is the best time that we could have, but we never know. We don't appreciate it. We want to be a professor, right now, or better yesterday. (Laughter) When we became professor or teacher, then we thought, "Wow, it was good to be a student!" Carefree, and everything was easier, youthful. No responsibility and we just party here, party there, and girlfriend here and boyfriend there. Everything was just so easy. But then, you cannot go back to being a student again, because you have already become

a professor. Even if you now take off your clothes, throw away your degree, and go and sit again with the students, you don't have the same experience and then you complain. Why? You say, "Why don't I enjoy the way she does. The other students enjoy, why don't I?" Because you've passed that enjoyment, you can't go back, you can't turn back the clock. The Three Stages Of Enlightenment So you have to recognize yourself, whether you are a beginner on this path in which you enjoy more than everyone else, or you have not yet reached the beginning stage of spiritual practice, or you've passed beyond the enjoyment

stage. There are three stages of enlightenment, language speaking. The first is the ignorant stage. You haven't even begun to want to practice. You have not even gone further than materialism. The second path is that you are enlightened. You see the light, you see God, you see heavenly mansions, you see all kinds of things while you are in samadhi, you enjoy all of this bliss. The third path is that you've passed that. Just like in school, first you did not enroll in university. You are a nobody. You're just a high school drop out or nothing. Now, you enroll. Enrolling is the second path and you begin to learn something in the university. The third path, you've graduated. We practitioners have different

levels. Just be at ease with yourself -- that's where you are, and don't ask for more than you can digest at a time. Don't ask ridiculous things, like you are already a professor, for example, and want to enjoy the student's life; because the age is different, the mentality is different. If you ask me, as a master, can I do everything for you? Yes, I can. But what for? What for do you want heaven anyhow? We should make this world into heaven, not escape into it. It's okay when you sit and you have heaven naturally; but if you always desire it, it's also queer. We are not beggars. If Hes doesn't give you, don't bother. Hes is not generous enough, maybe. It is Hiers fault. And if a creator can

afford to make such a mistake as to overlook you, then the more so we don't need to see Hirm. Selfless Service I see nothing now. I am only here twenty-four hours. I don't have time to even see you all here, even sometimes, if I flash around. I don't even have time to pay attention to all these heavenly signs, because I use my time to serve you. But still, despite all my blackness or no visionness, you still revere me as a Master, why? It's not because of my visions now? They're all gone. Because of my love, because of my non-asking anything. I only give. I don't want anything from God and I want nothing from you. That's

very important. So we have to serve selflessly and everything else will come. It's difficult to tell you all this because you always hear, Seek you first the Kingdom of God, then all the things shall be added onto you. But what is the Kingdom of God? The Kingdom of God is not for yourself alone. If I have a Kingdom of God, everyone must fit in. Otherwise, I don't go there, I'll wait for everyone. What's the good of me sitting there alone, or with you, or with a few disciples enjoying the Kingdom of God and the whole mankind are crawling, groveling on the earth suffering and all that? So the Kingdom of God comes after everyone else is enlightened, if it comes to that.

I believe to work for everyone else's happiness than to work for my own. So if you continue on that path, you have more satisfaction than any vision can give you. So don't get strayed from that, you are doing okay. Just do that. Just serve people, and you'll have more satisfaction than any vision, than any light or any Buddha's appearance can give you. I tell you the truth. So let's be the cooks, not the guests all the time. We can be the guest sometimes also. But you have been and you were not satisfied. You thought the guest must be more than that. Because you cook all the time, and sometimes you go to the restaurant, you imagine that a guest would be such and such. But the guest is only there just

to eat. That's it, and you pay your money and then you go home -- no big deal. True Spiritual Practice Is Gentle And Graceful Similarly, if we have spiritual visions. Sometimes because we expect too much, we think a vision must be this, that and the other. It's not. It's a very ordinary thing. It's not like an electric shock that you know when it comes, or when it goes. It's very gentle. The transition between materialism into the spiritual spheres is very, very gentle. Therefore, it's not a kind of astral projection that you know when you are out of the body, because it's not the way of true spiritual practice. True spiritual practice eases the

self into different dimensions in such a very gentle and graceful way that you don't even know you were there, because you had no more ego while you were there. Otherwise, you know, "Now, I am on the first, now I am on the second, now I am on the third. I am the saint -- third degree or third year." It's no good. I'll tell you why. Because we are already always there where we want to be. So what's the point of knowing where you are going and what degree you've reached? It's okay for some, to lure them onto the spiritual path. But it's not for everyone, and it must not always be like that. For example, maybe when you first graduate from law school, you are proud. Yes, you probably tell everyone about it, make

many parties because you want to celebrate your graduation as a doctor of law. But after some years you don't even remember that you are a lawyer. Occasionally people ask. You will remember; but without any pride, without any elation or without any happiness, nothing; because you are just that. Nothing new to you. When You Are Empty, Then You Are Full Similarly, some of us are so acquainted with spiritual elation that it becomes like breathing. That's the way it should be actually. It's not always I sit here watching the Buddha's lands, because then we are still separated. We are not in the Buddha land, we are

watching the Buddha land. We and the Buddha land are two. The nearer masterhood, the more ignorant you will become again. That's a paradoxical thing of life. That's why in the Tao Teh Ching Lao Tze said, "The wise are like the fool, ignorant." Yes, you become like recycled again. But it doesn't mean you are ignorant the way you were ignorant before. It's not the same. Before you were ignorant and now you are truly ignorant, ignorant in the real sense. Before you were ignorant, but you thought you were wise. You cheated yourself into wisdom and thought that you knew everything. But now, you know that you are truly ignorant; and that's when you are wise. Because when you are empty, then

you are full. The universe is yours. When you are full of all garbage, then you are outside. I am talking to all the people, the invisible beings as well and also to myself. I've had that feeling also, sometimes before. It's hard to be a master, because you deny yourself everything, including visions, including the knowledge of the so-called computerized data. I only know what I must know and at that right time. That's it. That's all we need for the moment. Otherwise, it's burdensome to carry all this wisdom with you and show everyone that you are a master. It's not the way.★

Plain text Master Tells Stories Utilize Your Intelligence Well Spoken By The Supreme Master Ching Hai, Formosa August 30, 1989 (Originally In Chinese)

There is a story in India. There was a person who had been practicing very well. One day, he went to hell to visit and saw a ghost being burnt very miserably by the fire of hell. That person asked Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha: "Why is he in so miserable a situation? Why is he being burnt so severely by fire that he cannot be burnt to death, is burnt again if he did die, like this for hundreds of lifetimes?" Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said: "That person was too ferocious. His ferocious heart ought to be burnt away so that the good merciful qualities can be uncovered later." Seeing that the ghost was so young and was being punished so severely, this practitioner felt

lots of clemency for him and said: "Let me take care of him at home. He will not need anything if he is next to me, because I will give him everything. I think he certainly will not do any bad things, the greedy heart will not come out, and he will not have any desires. Just let me try!" He begged Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha very sincerely to let go of the ghost, to allow him to take him home to take care of him. "All right," said Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, "I, of course, don't like to do this because you will make trouble for yourself. However, since you are so sincere, I'll give him to you to take home." The first one to two days after going home were all right, because this master asked the

little ghost to help him to do a lot of things. The little ghost was very happy and did not cause any trouble, so long as he had some work to do. However since he was a practitioner and did not own too many possessions and that the ghost was very powerful and had magical power, he could move things very quickly and finished moving all the things in two to three days' time. Having nothing to do, he waited there and asked the master if there was any other work. Without work given to him, he wanted to kill the master; because he was having a lot of power, and when there was nothing to do, he did not know how to handle the power. The little ghost quarrelled with the master and wanted to kill him. The master ran for his life and

went to hell to ask Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha for help. Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said to him: "I already told you that his ferocious quality had not been eliminated yet. With so little good qualities and yet you still took him home, you, of course, will bring trouble for yourself." Nevertheless, Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha told him a method that could control the little ghost. He said: "When you go home, you ask him to build a very tall tower with very long and very high stairs." After finishing the tower, the little ghost asked for work again! The master could not think of any. Then he chased after the master until the master went to hell. Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha said: "You go back and tell him to run everyday from the first step of

the stairs to the highest step, then run down from the highest stair, and then run up again from the lowest stair. You tell him to run like this everyday, then he will not bother you again!" Our brain is just the same. No matter what work we give it, it is all right so long as it has work to do. If there is no work, it will think nonsense. However, our brain being so smart, so talented, it would be such a waste if we used it to do small things. We should know our value and don't waste it. Most people do things wrong because they can not find a work that will match their so-called intelligence. Therefore, they feel upset and go out to do illegal things, just to satisfy the proactive abilities inside themselves.

Having talents and yet cannot use them is a very upsetting feeling. We used to say: "A hero who has found no place for himself." Therefore, if we have the chance to choose work in the future, we better choose the work that serves society. We think at a leisurely pace and there must be a way out. Don't be too rushed, make the wrong choice, and then do nonsense, wasting our ability and our power.★

I felt Maste's teachings concurred with the philosophy of contemporary people, so my wife and I registered for initiation immediately after Her lecture.

I am a military officer. During the training in the Army, Navy and Air Force's University, I had already developed an affinity with Master through Her posters. Later when I went home for a vacation, my mother borrowed a few of Master's lecture videotapes and a sample booklet from the neighbors. When I casually read the sample booklet and watched the videotapes, I felt that seeing Master was just like having a reunion with an old friend. I thought it was because I had already seen Master's posters. After initiation, I realized that actually we have affinity with Master life after life, and that we possibly were practitioners of the Quan Yin Method in previous lives. We

came down to this earth to learn again because we didn't wholeheartedly follow Master to practice spiritually in our previous lives. Master is compassionate to teach us again during the end of this era of true dharma, so we can receive immediate enlightenment and get liberated within this lifetime. At that time, my mother and wife started the vegetarian diet; and my mother had signed up for initiation. Finally, I had the opportunity to receive initiation, when Master gave a public lecture in Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall. I was busy on military errands during that time, and seldom went home for vacation. When my wife called to ask me if I could attend Master's lecture, without hesitation, I made time and

went. I felt Master's teachings concurred with the philosophy of contemporary people, so my wife and I registered for initiation immediately after the lecture. Before initiation, I not only smoked but also joined parties and drank very often. She was worried and reminded me many times that once I got initiated, I had to keep the five precepts strictly. My wife asked me if I could do it. I said, "No problem." After initiation, my tough, hot-tempered and easy-to-be-irritated personality changed. The most difficult thing for me was to quit smoking and drinking. Following the vegetarian diet evolved quite naturally. Whenever I encountered difficulties or

problems, I just meditated and pondered silently to dig out the wisdom within. Then all the difficulties were easily solved and I passed the tests. Now, I sincerely put myself into Master's hands, have faith in Her, and behave according to Her instructions. I follow Master's lead to the home of masters -- the hometown of our souls.★

There were only a dozen people who were responsible for serving the food, and we were very honored that Master had asked us to come and sit with Her. At that time, Master was screening the performances that were going to be on stage the next evening. She was quite concentrated and serious about the screening and I was much impressed. I watched the rehearsed performances carefully. Some of them would only get thirty points from me. After being corrected by Master, they turned out later during the formal presentation to be worth one hundred points. By participating in Master's work, I could feel that as long as we are sincere in doing the work, She would know and correct us in every little detail so

that we could be more perfect in our work. For instance, sometimes I thought that my work was not too bad, then suddenly a resident disciple would come over and point out which pan was not covered. Or, if there were some neglected areas, they would be immediately noticed by fellow practitioners. Among the fellow practitioners working together, what we had on our minds and discussed all the time was Master's teachings. This subconsciously raised our spiritual atmosphere and spirits. Human beings by nature are mostly lazy. In doing Master's work, fellow practitioners reminded one another and overcame the laziness. Besides, in doing Master's work more, we could understand and feel the devotion

of others and take that as an example for ourselves. For example, one time I had participated in the working group and only then did I realize that lots of brothers and sisters had to arrived much earlier before each group meditation so that they could prepare the hall perfectly for fellow practitioners to have a stable meditation. In addition, kitchen work is always very busy. Members would grasp each and every opportunity to meditate. They treasured every minute and are more concentrated. It was very obvious that those fellow practitioners who had participated more in Master's work were more diligent and stable in their practice and had more correct concepts. People

who often came to work would be positively affected by the whole group. It was just like family members helping each other, becoming more happy on the path. After being promoted to be the head of the kitchen group, apart from designating the work, I also had to consider the personality of each individual member and learn the art of communication. I became like a counselor and realized that only when I was taking meticulous care and had a good understanding of the fellow practitioners then I could lead the whole group well. I often said to the members that it is very rare that we have a living Master and are able to get initiation and follow Her. To do Master's work, one needs to have the necessary merits and

affinity. It is not that everyone has the opportunity to do the kitchen work. We should treasure the chance to serve others. Once, I helped the news group to send a videotape to a television station. On that day we had finished the cutting and editing quickly, and be on time for the news. Upon arriving at the station, we were unable to find a parking space. I then deeply realized how hard we have to struggle to live in this world. By participating in a different types of work, we are able to discover that we have more hidden abilities to develop. Now that the number of fellow practitioners is increasing rapidly worldwide; there are a lot of opportunities to serve. If each of us could use a little

more effort, we could help more people step onto the spiritual path smoothly.★

【While On The Path】 Mother Of My Rebirth Narrated By Sister Initiate Sio Hwei Shi, Taipei, Formosa Recorded By Zern Yue, The Supreme Master Ching Hai News, Taipei, Formosa After participating in the work of the news group, sister Shi had received supreme love from Master. Being unable to focus on the Truth before, now she has improved a lot. She has met Master in dreams and has taken trips to heaven. To the omnipotent Master who has gracefully granted rebirth to our souls, sister Shi is most grateful and deeply moved. Having lost her family since childhood, sister Shi has had a great deal of difficulity in speaking and expressing herself. It was not until she was a teenager that she could speak using longer sentence. No one had taught her anything about human relationships and how to deal with people. Therefore, she did not know how to be tactful in dealing with people and had very bad interpersonal relationships. During her childhood, she was once homeless. From primary to senior high school, she was a problem student. All sorts of circumstances made sister Shi lose faith in life and have no sense of security. Ever since she was initiated by Master, Master's love has washed away her karma of ignorance. Sister Shi's soul was reborn and she could feel the dignity and preciousness of life. She is most grateful in her heart. Both she and her husband, after initiation, listen together to Master's tapes. Sister Shi has also recovered from her long term insomnia. To be able to participate in the work of the news group, sister Shi is most grateful to Master for Her love. She feels that she has to practice more sincerely and diligently then she can live up to Master's expectations of humankind and heavenly spirits -- the Master who has saved sentient beings from sufferings and difficulties. Now, sister Shi has made great improvements in her ability to express herself. Not only can she speak well, but she also has a lot of confidence. Furthermore, she now knows how to deal with people and no longer feels insecure about her own ability. Master's teachings and instructions are everywhere in daily life. Therefore, she feels that Master has been unbelievably taking meticulous care of her and her family. Master's great love is just like her parent, rectifying all her previous imperfections.

【While On The Path】 Touching The Yearning Desire In The Deepest Part Of My Soul By Yungting Lee, The Supreme Master Ching Hai News, Taipei, Formosa

One night, I watched the video "Great Spiritual World". It described a traffic accident in which a lot of people died. At the time of their death, there were angels to receive every person to glide them up into the sky, reaching a place with clouds scattered everywhere. People discovered that their soul body was complete. The blind or the amputated had become a complete body again. In that area, which was more beautiful than our world, when people had a thought about a house, a house would then appear! Many of the friends and relatives of those people who had passed away before would come to meet them. It was such a happy time! Only then did they realized that they had died. At

the same time, they also realized that there was no dying; it was just a transition to another realm. When I was totally absorbed in the video, my mother returned home from teaching school. She was holding sample booklets and videotapes of The Supreme Master Ching Hai. The subsequent reading released many of my doubts. The chapter "The Mystery of the World Beyond" in the sample booklet was especially outstanding. Not only did it introduce a method of dying while living, it also described many worlds more than what was described in the movie. They were unheard of before. I couldn't help but admired the great Master, The Supreme Master Ching Hai who had such a high level of wisdom and enlightenment. When I was watching the video,

The Supreme Master Ching Hai was singing some Buddhist songs. Since childhood I have rarely cried, as I regarded crying as an act of losing face. However, as I was listening to The Supreme Master Ching Hai's Buddhist chanting, tears spontaneously kept flowing from my eyes. The sound of Her chanting had touched me deeply. It was like playing the strings of my heart, touching the yearning desire in the deepest part of my soul. The following day, I took the initiative to propose to mother: "How about the whole family becoming vegetarian?" Then, within a very short period of time, our whole family very easily became vegetarian and applied for initiation. We hoped sincerely for Master's return to the country to give us

initiation. She came back from Japan a few days after Christmas and many thanks to Her, our whole family received initiation on the same day and became a family of fellow practitioners. After initiation, I felt that many past events had been washed away and I had become a new person. The day of initiation was the day of my rebirth, a new life was given to me by Master! I was just like a newborn baby. In these years, there have been lots of lessons and tests. With Master accompanying me, I have been able to very easily pass through many worries and sad situations in the mundane world. The very thought of remembering Master is so comforting and joyful. I only want to tell Master: "Master, You have been doing too much hard work. Please

take care of Your body. Many thanks for Your long time meticulous care."★

One of the rabbis, he was always fed up with the people who always came to see him, so he asked for seclusion. He went on retreat and saw no one. Normally Father Abraham would come to see him every... I forgot the name of it, because it's a Jewish name. (A: Passover?) Maybe Passover, yes, yes. The ascended Abraham probably would appear to him every Passover. But that Passover, he didn't appear. So the rabbi panicked and kept always praying and praying. Finally, Father Abraham appeared to him and said, "Well, you wanted no one at your door, so I thought I was included. How can I come into a house when you don't welcome anyone?" That's what Father Abraham answered him. So he understood.

Then, from that day on, he welcomed everyone and he suffered the love of the people, the way I do. So Abraham came to him all the time. Even past the Passover, he also came; because that's the way he wanted. If you welcome him, you welcome his children. That's what it is. So that's why I always tell you, don't run around taking care of me. Take care of our guests, take care of our brothers and sisters, take care of whoever needs taking care of. It's okay that everyone likes to run around taking care of me and wants me and all that. But you don't realize that I am in all of you. You take care of each other, that's you taking care of me. I only need a little amount of attention. I don't need all of you taking care of me. You

run over me, step over me, overwhelm me with love and attention. And all the brothers, sisters just stand around, and no one cares about them. It's me too! It's me who you left behind there or didn't take care of. I know everything, I feel the feeling of the person. You don't feel it, but I do. So if you don't take care of them, that means you bother me, because I will know that. I will be bothered.★

【Master's Words】 Recognize How Great You Are Spoken By The Supreme Master Ching Hai At Paris Group Meditation, France April 25, 1996 (Originally In English And French)

It's very difficult to tell any of you that you are Buddhas and that you are similar to me, or at least more or less. You don't want to reach a complete degree of sainthood for some reason. Maybe because you want to be closer to the feeling of human beings. Maybe because you do not yet recognize how great you are. Maybe because you do not have the opportunity to completely make use of your sainthood, of your wisdom. Therefore, you don't recognize yourself as a saint. I am the one who was pushed into this position, where every minute of my life, every time, every turn of the corner, I have to make use of my wisdom, because of your demands. If you hadn't asked me all these questions, I wouldn't even

search my mind for all the answers. Besides, I don't need any answers. I am just satisfied the way life is. What I am now, I wasn't before. I must tell you the truth. No one is a saint when he is born. When we are bron into this world of Maya, of illusion, we have to undergo all the procedures of a human being. Like we have to be ignorant again, we have to suffer all the illusionary desires, and then the disappointment of not fulfilling the desires, and all that kind of thing; until one day we have enough of it and say, "Okay, that's it! Now, whatever I have, I have. If I don't, I don't." That's the time when you reach complete liberation. You liberate yourself from all your own problems, from your own

For example, before he is born, no one knows who Doctor So-and-So is. Now he is born into the So-and-So family. Then everyone calls him that from his birth, So-and-So. So he grows up with that name, and then he gets a university degree. That adds more to his individuality. So he recognizes himself as such, as a university law graduate. Then he knows more about books. He learns from books and he learns this and he learns from business and that. All this knowledge we call Doctor So-and-So. Actually, if the knowledge is

you, then you are just knowledge, you are just nothing. Because if you didn't learn all these, then you'd never exist. If you didn't learn how to speak, if you didn't learn how to eat, if you didn't learn how to dress yourself, if you didn't learn at university, what would you be? So most of us identify ourselves with all that we learned, all these habits we do, then we think that's "us". Therefore, we have different individuals like Mr. So-and-So and Mrs. So-and-So because she learned different things. She has had different experiences from life. She learned lessons from different books and she makes her own judgements from what she has learned also. He makes his own judgements. So we are all separated.

Otherwise, we are never separated. We are the knowledge house. We are together without the bodies. As soon as we assume the body and we assume more knowledge from different sources, we identify ourselves differently from the neighbors. That's when dividedness starts. That's when we start to get into the trap of ignorance. We forgot our origin. So the more you learn, the farther you are from knowledge. ★

Most of the nobility or rich people are those who have only mateial merit but no merit for spiritual practice. As far as liberation is concerned, they are poor. The reason that Master dresses and behaves like them is to let them feel close to Her. When She chats, laughs merrily and make friends with them, it is only to give them some belssings with which to form an affinity with a living master.

Master often says that the more we spiritual practitioners behave like normal people, the better it is. Her demeanor is very natural so others like to be close to Her. Master never immediately shows that She is a spiritual practitioner in public. Sometimes when She stays in a hotel, She orders some bread with cheese to eat. It often happens that, after several days of our living there, the hotel staff doesn't even know that we are a group of vegetarians and spiritual practitioners. In addition, when Master was in Europe, She was frequently invited to banquets to meet with royal families, nobility or high ranking officials. She always dressed very elegantly. Once,

She asked the fellow practitioners near Her, "When you see me dressed gorgeously with so many beautiful ornaments, would you think that I am a spiritual practitioner?" The fellow practitioners all said no. In order to let us understand further, Master explained why She did so. Master has also said that some of our fellow practitioners have too much "Zen atmosphere," which can be sensed by others right away. Their "atmosphere" truly stinks. These fellow practitioners always want to let people know that they are pursuing spiritual practice; wherever they go, they like to show off their "Zen atmosphere". Doing Work Is Paving A Road For Our Spiritual Practice Master once told us privately that, at the present time, more than half of Her disciples hardly have any merit to pursue

spiritual practice, and that it was Her who had helped them to get initiated and liberated with Her own merit from Her spiritual practice. Therefore, after we are initiated, Master always encourages us to find time to do some work for others. It is all right to work for society to repay the favor of the world, or to work for our group. The reason is that, if we do not work, we will use up our merit even by walking on the roads and passing over bridges everyday. When it is all used up, we will not have any merit left. Therefore, work can help us accumulate our merit little by little and pave the long road of spiritual practice for our entire life. If we work today, we will have merit to pursue our spiritual practice tomorrow.★

Now I am not but I still have doubts. Even with the doubt will it be a problem? M: No! You will have more strong faith in God day after day as your experiences grow. But even then if you don't believe in God, you already have seen God's light. There is no question of believing, just a question of contacting God. That's enough. Actually most of the people are atheist because they have never seen God. Even if you believe you have parents, but you've never seen parents or your parents are already dead, you still are an orphan. So, even if you don't believe you have parents, but you're always with parents, then what for do you have to believe that you have parents? You already have parents everyday. It's not a question of intellectual believing, because actually God is everywhere. It's not the one God who sits in heaven that you should believe in. So, actually you are not an atheist, it's just that you don't believe in the so-called God that people want to present to you -- the God who sits somewhere in heaven and has no pity on human beings, punishes people in hell and all that kind of thing; and God is even jealous, etcetera, all the qualities of humans. Then why do we have to worship that kind of God? They make a fool out of God, some of the people; and that's why they even push people away from God. So in that case, you are not atheist, otherwise you wouldn't have the sincerity to search for something that you don't even know. Ah, don't worry! She is just very honest. You cannot pretend to believe in a God that you don't know and you don't have faith in. So, by introducing you to God's qualities yesterday, you will believe. What we believe in is the great power, great compassion, omnipresent power, great love, not a God of a kind of certain quality that Hes just looks like a human. And you believe in that. Q: The God that everyone talks about is the goodness within us, that's what I thought. M: That's what you believe and that's okay. That's good! Q: What do you think about telepathy? M: That's just one of the magical powers of the first level, of the astral level. We can practice that. But in our meditation we will have what we call "thought transference". That's one of the things of the lower level -- telepathy -- because that only can be one to one, or one to two or three. But "thought transference" is the universal network. It functions from heaven to hell and earth, and functions with the multitudes. The master uses that power to communicate with the disciples everywhere, doesn't matter how big the number is. And if you practice the meditation, you will have the power also, in time. But even before you can completely handle this power, you can communicate with the master. Whatever you say, you want, or wish inside, the master always knows. Whenever you want the master to know your thought, your wish, Master will know. But if you don't want, it's okay. Master just stands by, takes a breath. Q: You mentioned the master can help a dying person. Maybe in three or four years, I will die. Can You help me? M: Sure! That's my job. If I can't help you at the time of death, who else can? Q: Will I have the time to meet God in that time? M: Yes, yes, yes. You be sincere, you practice, and you will meet God often. God will not probably be in a person. Hes is in the Light, in the Sound. In the Light and the Sound, you will find all the qualities of God. Just like in water and in food you will find all the strength and nourishment for your whole body and brain. The food doesn't need to speak, just gives you. The light and sound don't need language, don't need action, but they give you all the spiritual nourishment. That is our spiritual food. That's God Hirmself. (Applause) Before you die, you will know; and the master will come and take you to heaven. The master is the only one who accompanies you at death. Doesn't matter how much the worldly people love you, they cannot accompany you; only the Master. The Master is your only true friend and companion -- through all kinds of worlds, through life and death, through ups and downs, through everything. We have a fast, long-lasting friendship. Plain text Front Line The Supreme Universal Network _ Computer Exhibition in Changhua By Changhua News Group, Formosa A seemingly endless number of visitors filled the gymnasium, revealing their truest quality deep inside.

The Computer Exhibition in Changhua was a spectacular event held in the Changhua County Gymnasium in mid October. Our Changhua Center was invited to display Master's spiritual works of art. The host provided a public booth for us. Of all the displays, Master's creations were the most outstanding and unique. Because the Quan Yin Method is the supreme universal network, we were able to cross time and space and journey freely from star to star in the universe.

During the exhibition, fellow practitioners from Taichung, Nantou and Changhua worked swiftly and cautiously as a team, making every effort to convey these celesital creations in a beautiful way. A lot of laughter could be heard coming from our booth, creating a very natural, relaxed and harmonious atmosphere. It was an honor for fellow practitioners to be part of this activity. A fellow practitioner specializing in interior design told us that a dark background ususally gives better contrast to whatever is being displayed, according to his experience. However, when they went to decorate the place, only white cloth and gold ribbons were available. These materials, beyond our expectation, turned an otherwise ordinary booth into a beautiful scene from heaven. In this exhibition, we displayed all of Master's works of art, proving to the world that after enlightenment, we are better able to utilize our potentials

more completely and make our lives more prolific. Master is open-minded in Her creations and is not limited by any rules. That's why Her works are varied and abundant in style, the embodiment of artistic perfection yet unartificial and elegant. They are state-of-the-art and unprecedented in history. The S.M. exhibiting area was at the entrance of the gymnasium, so every visitor could hear Master's gracious voice and lectures of wisdom. From Her photos, Master could see all those with affinity; and a lot of them stood and watched Her, too. They all sighed with admiration when they learned She had never studied designing and painting before, and that all these creations had come from

supraworldly inspiration. They lingered in the exhibiting area, requesting sample booklets and News magazines, eager to know more about Master's tachings. Many of them left their phone numbers and addresses, wanting to learn the Convenient Method of meditation to have the News magazines sent to them on a regular basis. The hearts of children are closest to heaven. A little child reached for a sample booklet the moment he saw it and kept staring at Master's photos. Another child was absorbed in the charm of Master's works. Furthermore, a visitor dropped by our booth several times and claimed to have perceived invisible blessings from Master there. The working staff of the neighboring booths also took

this rare opportunity and came to us for sample booklets. When a sister brought lunch for our fellow practitioners, the volunteer workers outside the gymnasium offered to help her carry the lunchboxes. Having looked at Master's works of art and listened to Her lectures, these new friends asked us to order vegetarian meals for them. On the following days of the exhibition, they often visited our S.M. booth. When asked why they kept coming back, they answered in a child-like tone of voice, "We don't know why. We just like it." Master's love had filtered into their hearts. Our fellow practitioners also used computers displayed in the NEC Room to connect to our Quan Yin website on the WWW, to convey Master's messages in a

brand new fashion. It is a blessing for all sentient beings that Her teachings can be spread to every corner of the world quickly and directly via the internet in this computer age. Walking into the S.M. exhibiting area, everyone was either inspired by the heavenly glory or filled with love and joy. We appreciate the way Master has awakened and delivered sentient beings using different means, and are grateful to Her for bringing this heavenly beauty down to earth. The exquisite and heart-moving S.M.Celestial Jewelry was exhibited for the first time in a wealthy land of the Middle East, specifically in the capital city Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates. A modern new world built in the middle of the desert is quite an outstanding scene of this country. From the airport to Abu Dhabi lies a perfectly straight and wide highway, along which stands many exquisitely modeled pavilions. Beautiful mosques and buildings are visible everywhere. A normal scene in a Muslim country is that the people on the street are usually all males, and that females rarely go out by themselves. Due to the intense heat, the men like to

wear white robes and cover their heads with a piece of white cloth. So they all look elegant and comfortable. When women go out, they are usually accompanied by men and cover their whole bodies in black. According to the custom, they even cover their entire faces except for their two big eyes. Since it is dry and burning hot during the day, people here choose the period from late afternoon to nightfall as their activity time. The jewelry exhibition was held in the evenings from October 29th to November 1st. On the first day of the exhibition, the prince of U.A.E. was the honorable guest at the grand opening. The prince was kind and radiant. Smiling he viewed and admired the displayed jewelry of all the participating

organizations. He even stayed in front of the Celestial Jewelry display window to view and admire it. Many women were attracted by Master's celestial jewelry, and frequently and silently conversed with each other while holding the black veils covering their faces. A lady liked the celestial jewelry so much that the next day, her husband came in person to see what kind of jewelry had attracted his wife to such an extent. An interesting thing was that when some Egyptians saw Master's Celestial Jewelry, they were very surprised. Some of the people were fascinated with the celestial jewelry for children, some wholeheartedly admired the "Heavenly Dragon Imperial

Cutlery," and some felt that the design of the "Hidden Force Connection" touched their hearts. They all indicated that Master's jewelry designs were noble, dignified, imposing and magnificent, and had extraordinary artistic value. A design shouldn't be judged by an ordinary sense of value. The people very humbly accepted Master's sample booklets and News magazines. Furthermore, they hoped that these elegant and beautiful pieces of jewelry might be exhibited in their country one day. A person rushed for the jewelry exhibition right after he got off the airplane. The only jewelry designs from which he couldn't tear himself away were Master's designs. "Meditation Quan Yin Bodhisattva," "Father," "E. T.," etcetera, and wondered how such pure and noble jewelry could exist. After talking with him further, we learned that he had been longing for perfection and loved all sentient beings; however, too many mishaps in the world almost made his faith falter and he began to doubt that his ideal was not practical. In his viewpoint, the jewelry designs of others were only for commercial purposes, which did not touch his heart at all. While Master's designs comforted him so deeply that he came to the exhibition again the following day and especially asked about Master's teachings. It was obvious that he was quite moved. Before he left, he kept thanking us. It was Master's

loving power that once again guided a yearning soul back Home. Since the exhibition was opened only during the evenings, the days could be used to enjoy the special local scenery. So during the daytime, the fellow practitioners who helped with the exhibition took their children to enjoy the desert scenery; and at night, they came to the exhibition and happily distributed the flyers introducing Master's Celestial Jewelry to the spectators. Perhaps due to the conservative customs, most people looked serious. They kept their heads lowered, looking at the pure and innocent children giving them the beautiful flyers. Later, they started to smile and say thank you, which was taken as an

honor by the children. Master's Celestial Jewelry shocked many people in different ways. A gentleman who came from Beirut said, "Master is from the Kingdom of God." A young Arabian man came back to our booth more than five times and gazed at master's jewelry silently for a long time. Finally, he brought his father to see it. It turned out that he was an artist and was studying creative design. He bashfully said that he liked the display. In the entire venue he only loved the indescribably beautiful Celestial Jewelry. This exhibition of Celestial Jewelry seemed to be a generous gift of God to respond to the inner longing of Hiers children who loved beauty.
